A Riolu lay half-asleep in a boy's arms, chewing on a piece of Pokeblock. ~Ri... Ri... Riughhh...~ he mumbled in a relaxed manner as crumbs sprayed on the boy's arm. He winced. "Ew, Lux! Be careful, please!" he cried, leaving his packet of Pokeblock unguarded while he brushed away the crumbs. A Pidgey and Shinx saw their oppertunity for an extended meal, and swooped and darted forwards, each leaving with a chunk of food in their paws or talons.
Nox sighed. "Give me them back. You've already had dinner; you don't want to get fat." he told them, reaching down to Deleva the Shinx. She swiftly moved aside, then popped the food in her mouth and swallowed, a wide grin spreading across her face. Minari the Pidgey flew high towards the blood red setting sun. When he returned, he to had eaten. Lux wriggled; he wanted more as well. Nox gave in, inserting a red one into the Riolu's mouth.

Mittens was still eyeing Sasha. The Skitty was still head over hills in love with the Glameow. Kairi was sitting there eating with her other Pokemon. Her Skitty had been ingoring her just staring at the Glameow all day,"Ux do you know what's wrong with Mittens? He's been staring at Sasha all day long?" Kairi noticed.

+No, no, no! You can't do that! It's not how the game goes!+
a squeaky voice complained from nearby. +Well, who invented those dumb rules anyways? You know I'm a slow learner,+ came another voice. +Well, it's been like that forever! You can't watch while the other hides! And, you have to count to a certain number. Any other rules are made for certain conditions. Since you can't swim very well, I won't hide in the water,+ came the first voice. +But, that's so confusing...+ complained the second voice. An exasperated sigh came from the first voice, or at least it seemed it was the first voice. +Alright. We'll try it another day, then. Once you get older you'll understand things easier and catch on to things quicker,+ said the first voice. A few moments later, two small Pokemon came out of the bushes, heading towards the river. The first one, a blue spotted penguin-like Pokemon didn't even notice the travelers. The other one, small and green and almost looked like a seed or plant of some sort, stopped as soon as it was out. +Erm... did you notice that we have company?+ the green Pokemon asked. The penguin-like Pokemon turned around, and jumped in surprise at the sight of the trainers and their Pokemon. It quickly leapt into the river and hid behind a small rock, obviously terrified of trainers. Perhaps it had a bad experience? Who knew. The green Pokemon, however, was curious and plopped itself down, looking from Nox to Kairi a few times. It then looked at the trembling penguin, wondering why it was so scared of these seemingly harmless... people, as it recalled they were called. Wild Budew and Piplup appeared!

Kairi eyed the Piplup, hearts in her eyes. She checked with Sparky to see if he was up for battling. They had been walking for awhile now. Sparky did look a lot better,"Are you sure Sparky?" Kairi asked her Pichu. Sparky nodded that he was feeling fine now. He took off the bandages and jumped out to face the Piplup before Nox could even say weather or not he wanted it,"Sparky use Volt Tackle on that Piplup!" Kairi called. Sparky started building up engery in his body as he ran faster and faster and faster. Lightning surrending his body he jumped at where the Piplup was hidding at using Volt Tackle.

Nox had been about to fight the Piplup, when Kairi had set Sparky on it. He didn't perticulaly like Budew; in fact, he rather hated them, but none the less, it would offer some leveling to one of his three Pokemon. Lux burped in his arms, and Nox surpressed laughter while the other two giggled. Lux looked proud, then wriggled free of Nox's arms. He moved his arms in a karate-style position before growling offensively.
Nox shrugged. Minari gave a soft coo as he settled on his trainer's shoulder, and Deleva sat at his feet, observing the battle with interest. "All right, Lux! Let's start off with a Blaze Kick!" he cried. Flames shot down the Riolu's powerful hind legs, and he gave a battle cry as he leapt, foot outstreched, at Budew.

Upon seeing the Pichu come rushing towards it, the Piplup quickly dove underwater, and quickly jumped up on the other side of the bank, getting mud and covering its body in it; Mud Sport. It then faced the Pichu, obviously quite angry that it had decided to attack it. It could care less about the human, though the haunting memories still nagged at it. The Piplup got up on its feet and let out a strong Bubble at the Pichu as soon as it had finished covering its body in mud.
The Budew gave a cry of surprise at the sudden attack from the Riolu and didn't have time to react. The attack, being fire, and the Budew, being a grass-type, well... you can put two and two together. The Budew wobbled back and forth on its back for a while before slowly getting up. +We didn't do anything to you! Geez! I never thought humans could be so rude!+
the Budew growled, launching some spores from the top of its body toward Lux; Stun Spore.

Sparky changed direction and started running towards Piplup with the Volt Tackle still surrending it's body. It was so fast that it avoided the Bubble attack and jumped across the water at the Piplup jumping from rock to rock. Sparky got on the other side and jumped at Piplup using Volt Tackle.

Lux gave a grunt of surprise as the spores drifted lightly from Budew. Whatever they were, they must be bad, otherwise Budew would not have used them, but they were so... enchanting, pretty. The Riolu gasped as they floated greetingly through the air, Nox shouting a warning behind him. He paid no attention, and let one drift to his nose. It was breathed in, and the Riolu sneezed loudly, before growling in anger. He tried to shake a fist at Budew, but couldn't; the attack had paralyzed him temporarily.
Nox winced. "Never mind, Lux; it'll wear off. At least it was only a little bit, and you know to be more careful next time." he said brightly, not wanting to worry the Fighting type. He did not want to use an attack that needed too much speed, for Lux may not be capable of using it so soon after inhaling the Stun Spore. "Use Foresight, please, Lux." he said, smiling.
Lux nodded with difficulty, then closed his eyes. A low humming riverbrated from his throat, and soon his eyes opened again, now a vivid purple. They focused on Budew, with the intention to spread the glow momentarily to it, thus meaning the Pokemon would take some damage soon.

The Piplup, not extremely happy with this Pichu and its quick movements, unleashed another Bubble; slightly more powerful than the last and directly at the Pichu as it approached it. The Piplup stood its ground as the Pichu charged; well, it figured that as long as Pichu was using a types-advantage it might as well take the hit because it couldn't hit every time. The Piplup had waited until it would be quite unable to dodge the Bubble at the risk of losing its own health. A second after it had unleashed it, it was hit with the Pichu's Volt Tackle; it was surprisingly weaker that the Piplup had thought it would be, considering the Pichu was an electric-type. That meant that the Pichu would be weak; however, water-type moves wouldn't do a whole lot if used repetitively. It would have to stick to its other moves if it wanted to win this.
The Budew glared at the Riolu, and quickly used an Absorb before its owner could tell it to do anything else. Or, were they called owners? ... Perhaps they were something else. Well, who knew. The Budew had never never heard of the proper term, 'trainer' before, let alone seen one. Already though, it decided it wasn't too fond... but, first impressions sure weren't the best sometimes. The Absorb was on its way still to the Riolu when the Budew stopped thinking about that; it was a quick thinker, that was for sure. Well, if the Absorb hit, it would regain at least some health as well as damage some health. It wasn't its first battle, but its wasn't really the fighting type either.

Sparky jumped backwards, after using his Volt Tackle attack,+Your very strong,+He told the Piplup,+My attack should of really hurt you. Your a water type. I'm an electric type. I don't understand this.+ Sparky was a little confused. Piplup is a water type. Yet his attacks hardy did any damage at all. Sparky thought that maybe this Piplup must be at a way higher level then him.
"Come on Sparky! I know you can do this!" Kairi called. Sparky looked over at his trainer from across the river. He could barly hear her,+Uh...what did you say? I didn't quite get that?+ Sparky asked a little confused.
Kairi saw Sparky looked a little confused by what she said. This is bad. Her Pokemon couldn't hear her from across the river. If Sparky couldn't hear her, how would she be able to call out attacks to him. Kairi decided she had to find a way across the water to her Pokemon.
Sparky realized this as well. So turning to Piplup he asked it,+I don't mean to interute our little battle here, but could we wait until my trainer finds a way across the river before we continue our battle? I can't hear her commands from over here,+ Sparky asked the Piplup. He then sit down and waited for Kairi.

Lux gave a little sigh of relief as the Absorb enabled him a little more movement. Wringing out his wrists, he watched as the green beads of energy sunk into his fur, creating stabs of pain as they did so, and emerging again, carrying a small amount of his health back to Budew. He grunted, eyes straying to his partner's misfortunes for a brief moment. She should have thought of that before Sparky went across. He and Nox would be all right; they could use telepathy.
Presently, the boy was pensive; something he didn't look like much. Blaze Kick, being a Fire type move, would be extremely effective against a Grass type. He wasn't entire sure whether Lux would be up to it yet, but it was worth a try and there wasn't much point in using Future Sight again. "Blaze Kick!" he cried in conclusion to these thoughts.
Lux leapt up high, feeling that tickling heat creep up his leg again. His foot aimed at the seed like Pokemon below, he was moving slower than last time.

+Hmph. Well, you must not be very strong, then. Either that or you don't battle much,+
the Piplup said, glaring at the Pichu. Well, the Pichu did seem much weaker than the Piplup; and that was an advantage. If the Piplup could get some good attacks in, then that would definitely help. The trainer calling from across the river made the Piplup get a very good idea that would work to its advantage. The Piplup could barely even hear what the Pichu's trainer was saying, and the Piplup's ears were quite good compared to others it had met. Upon the request to wait for his trainer to get across the river, the Piplup chuckled with amusement. +You and your trainer were eager for a battle, so you'll get one!+ it said unexpectedly and lunged at the Pichu, its hands/flippers glowing as it came at the Pichu with amazing speed with a Pound attack. The Budew looked across the river at its new friend that had been trying to teach it how to play hide-and-go-seek. Well, it could definitely tell the Pichu had a types-advantage, if used correctly. Of course, though, his trainer was now just barely out of earshot and couldn't hear. Now that was an advantage for the Piplup. It turned back to the Riolu just in time to see him use yet another Blaze Kick on it. The Budew frowned and began to glow, and after glowing was slightly larger, having used the move Growth. It had had enough time to do that, and then some, since Lux was a bit slower since he was sort of paralyzed. Taking advantage, the Budew reared back temporarily, and rammed its head forward, as leaves came, literally, from nowhere, just as the Riolu made another successive hit on the Budew. The Budew rolled again as it had before, in obvious pain. +Ouch! Don't you know not to hit a girl like that?+ the Budew complained, the voice now clearly feminine. It staggered to its only two feet and faced the Riolu again, considerably weakened.

Sparky was knocked up against a tree,+You have no manners. Don't you remember what Ho-Oh said before he left, that Pokemon are supposed to care about humans.+ He could see that the Piplup didn't believe in the legend about Ho-Oh and the three guardians sent to watch over humans.
"Sparky!" Kairi cried,"Don't worry I'm coming!" It was dangerous but Kairi had no other choice but to try it. She started jumping from rock to rock just like she'd seen her Pichu do. But just as she got to the middle rock she twisted her ankle and slipped falling into the ragging river.
Kairi started being carried down the river by the very fast current,"Help!" Kairi screamed. Sparky ingored Piplup and started running around sore beside the river after Kairi,"Pichu pi!" He screamed calling Kairi's name as he ran.
Kairi looked ahead of her and saw a big very big waterfall ahead of her. She started crying. Was this it for her? Was she going to die right here, right now, before finding her father.
Kairi pulled out three PokeBalls,"I do not want you guys to suffer the same fate as me. Goodbye my frirnds. I love you all. You most of all Sparky!" Kairi called to the shore. She threw her three PokeBalls on shore releasing Sasha, Mittens and Happy.
All four of Kairi's Pokemon cried as they watched her being washed towards the waterfall that would kill her without a dout. And there was nothing that they could do for her. Sparky turned towards the Piplup with tears in his eyes. His very best friend was about to die, and the only one that could save her was the wild Piplup, as none of them were water types.
The only one of them around that could swim in waters like these was the wild Piplup. But would it save Kairi or allow her to fall to her death.

Nox could see that Kairi's hopes lay with Piplup, but he had doubt that a young and fairly small Pokemon would have the strength to lift a girl ten times it's size, and that was without the extreme currents. He would have to save her himself. Or so he hoped. Picking up the slow Lux, he raced off to the edge of the water, Deleva and Minari just behind him. They gave frantic calls to their friend. Then Nox did something impressively stupid. He grabbed the longest, sturdiest stick he could find, and, in attempt to swing it over to give Kairi something to hold on to, accidently knocked Budew into the water.
"****!" Nox swore as the seed Pokemon created a splash as it flailed wildly at the air. His distaste for Budew did not reach the extent that he wanted one to die. With the help of his Pokemon, he managed to get the stick in. They could not go any lower, otherwise the currents would snap it; but this meant Budew could not reach. It was up to Kairi to save Budew, but every moment she waited, the stick grew closer to breaking. Would she be able to save Budew's life?

"Oh no!" Kairi reached out and grabbed Budew. She reached for the stick but it snapped before she could grab it. Kairi cried as she threw Budew to shore with all her might. It landed in Nox's arms. "Pichuuuuuuu!!!!" Sparky kept on screaming Kairi's name. He cried very loudly. The waterfall was coming into view,"Bye Sparky. I love you," Kairi sobbed. Sparky started crying very loudly. Tears were falling down his cheecks.
Just then Kairi got an idea. She took out her Super Rod,"Glad I brought this thing at the store," she said. She leaned back and let the line from the poll fly over to Nox,"Here catch!" She screamed.
