The Starly felt proud of itself for hitting Fairo; it was too busy cheering itself on in its own little head to pay attention to much else. It seemed to get distracted easily by its own actions. Funny...
The Starly flew in close to Fairo again, ready for another Fury Attack, but not expecting by the Charmander's actions what he was about to do. The Starly, its unprotected underside exposed as Fairo lashed out, was sent hurtling towards the ground. The Starly's underside felt like it was on fire now; as soon as it had stopped skidding, it raised a wing to look at it. A few deep red marks were upon it. Well, at least it knew why it hurt so bad, now.
Weakly getting up, not knowing how much more, if any at all, it could take, the Starly stood trembling to face Fairo.
Starly is weak enough to try to capture; will you try to capture Starly, or will you throw one last blow at it?

Fairo eyed his opponent, pleased he had found this first battle so easily. Well, it wasn't quite won yet; Starly was not KO'd, and he didn't feel the extra strength that indicated a win and level up. He knew a few things about trainers and Pokemon. Didn't Pokemon always have a chance, however slim, of escaping when they weren't defeated?
Sulteron knew this too. In order to let Fairo gain levels, and have an assurance of a capture, she must finish the battle in a defeat, however weak Starly already was. It seemed mean to make the Charmander seriously hurt the Starly, so she should tell him to go easy, knowing what he was likely to do otherwise. +Fairo, deliver the final Scratch, but go easy on the Starly. Just enough to defeat it, we don't want to really hurt it.+
Fairo looked calm, not being the most sensitive of Pokemon. In fact, his head buzzed with excitement as he walked over to end the battle. He would gain levels- maybe even learn a new attack! And he would be even closer to evolving!

The Starly stood quivering, knowing it had been defeated. That had been way too easy for the Charmander; oh, well, at least it had found out the meaning of battling. Or, at least gotten a taste of it. It wasn't going to run away, though; it could get stronger by purposely losing and going with this trainer.
The Starly braced itself for the final blow. It watched as Fairo walked calmly over to it. It looked up at the now-menacing-looking Charmander that was at least twice its size. Well, here we go, it thought, embracing the attack as Fairo lashed out. The Starly let its body limpy fly back a couple feet, then collapse, clearly having no more will to fight in it as it lay there, panting hard.
Congratulations! You beat Wild Shiny Starly! Fairo gains one level. You may now choose to capture the Starly or move on.

Fairo was panting as well as he straightened up. He rolled his thick branches of muscles crossing his body like a hard, fat spider web. Ah, leveling. It was a wonderful thing. It was with excitement that he felt the muscles lining his shoulder blades flex at his will- he knew that some day they would sprout into huge, magnificant wings.
Sulteron looked down at the fainted Starly. Now she could catch it. Gripping a Pokeball tightly in a shaking hand, she studied her possible first ever caught Pokemon. Good personality, a shiny, a Flying type, altogether, a very good Pokemon to encounter. With a little training, Starly here could be a fine, strong Starraptor. Her hand steadied itself as the ball spun through the air, drawing the bird in with a stream of red light.

The Starly was sucked into the Pokeball, a temporary light red transparent form until it disappeared and the Pokeball started wiggling.
After a few wiggles here and a jiggle there, it stopped moving, and the middle button lighted up, signaling Starly had been caught.
Congratulations! You caught the Starly!

ooc// Have you read the rules on leveling I made to avoid confusion? Meh, you can change them if you want.
ic// Sulteron allowed the breath she hadn't realised she had been holding to escape her lips. She picked up the Pokeball containing her latest Pokemon, Fiela and Fairo grinning at each other behind her. They slapped a high-five, or rather high-four, since neither had thumbs, and padded up to their trainer.
~Awesome! We've got a new freind!~ Fiela laughed, her fur shimmering as her chest rose and fell quickly with each laugh. Fairo was looking at both the Pokeball and the Espeon, his eyes flickering between the two. He shook his head as though ridding himself of a headache, and stumbled forward down the path. ~Hey, I guess that means we're off to the river! I wonder what type of Pokemon we'll met there! Come on, Fiela, I'll race you!~ he smiled, before breaking into a sprint. Before Sulteron knew it, both her and Fiela were racing the Charmander to the clear river with red dirt ahead of them. The girl wasn't that bothered about racing, so she left the Pokemon to their fun and jogged behind at a pace which meant she wouldn't overtake but wouldn't fall behind either. Fiela felt this would be a good oppertunity to try out her now stable wings. Unfurling them, she felt the ground leave her feet as she beat them down in one swift movement. Although unsteady, she was enjoying the ablility to fly. Right now, she and the Starly were to only members of Sulteron's team who could fly. However, she knew that Dratini evolved into Dragonite and Charmander evoled into Charizard, both of whom could fly. When they were at their fully evolved stages, Sulteron's team would be quite and interesting bunch to see flying through the sky. Fairo watched as the Espeon cut through the air above him. He ran harder, feeling the air on his face as his tail flared up in determination. This felt good. He noted Fiela wasn't used to flying, and wobbled often. That could come as an advantage. He was almost to the river, having overtaken the silver cat again, when she went out of control. Swooping behind him, they skidded a few feet and landed in a heap. They stood up. Then all of a sudden they burst out laughing. Well, that was one way to enter Route Two. To be continued on Red River.
