Appearance
Darvala has a red(ish) color of hair, that curls down slightly to her shoulders. She usually doesn't care about how her hair appears to fellow Trainers, or anyone, for that matter, so it is usually looking essentially like it requires taming with a brush. Her mom always scolded her for not combing it, but it didn't do squat.
To obscure her hair most of the time, she bears a blue bandana on her head, having a skull logo upon it. Along with the bandana, she also wears matching attire, always. A skin-tight, short shirt that is black with a minute white stripe in the center is what she wears most of the time. Either that, or, a baggy, black hoody with an emblem of a Lucario on it. Only if she is currently wearing the skin-tight shirt, does she wear jeans. Along with her hoody, however, she wears sweat-pants. One last thing that Darvala can be spotted wearing are dark navy-blue gloves with a Pokeball emblem on the top of each one.
Her face looks a lot like her mother's, only smaller. Darvala looks a bit more like her oldest sister, Tawnya, than her mom, though. As, when Tawnya was her age, you would not be able to tell the two apart at all...Even though her oldest sister is actually her half sister, from her step-father.
A very strange characteristic about Darvala is that she has navy-blue eyes. As far as her parents and their parents, and their parents, and so on, no one has ever beared a child with the same color of eyes. Her mother thinks it's an omen of some sort, but Darvala cherishes them, as well as her father.
Darvala, on the weekends, would go weightlifting at a Rock-Type Gym nearby her home. It built her strength very well, making even the toughest boy cringe at the sight of her out-lifting them. In alignment with her muscle, she is only average-height, at 5'10".
Darvala gets her looks from her mother, however, she attains most of her personality from her father. Her big ears, like her mom's, store her lengthy bangs behind them. Her long arms and legs help her to run, as her mom did when she was young. Though, the only thing that obviously differs between Darvala and her mom, is that her mom is much more obese in her old age, and Darvala is like a stick.
The skin on Darvala is quite smooth. It's naturally that way, always has been, always will be. During the summer, her skin gets a tan, and it makes her look like she isn't so sick, since she looks so pale most of the time. Guys really dig her when she gets her tans, but she doesn't even bat an eye at them.
In the winter, her clothing style differs from especially Spring and Summer. She actually wears long-sleeved baggy shirts and tight pants of any kind rather than a short, skin-tight shirt and loose jeans or sweatpants. In the Fall/Autumn, however, it can be a mix of Summer and Winter clothes, depending on how the weather is outside at the moment.
Personality
Darvala Hide is not the type of person you want to get on the bad side of. She can be considerably friendly at times, yes, but she can also be pretty feisty at other times. She is good at art, and, in fact, loves drawing Pokmon in her free time. She also relishes music; Any kind, really. Creating her own music is another hobby of hers as well. Along with music and art, she adores watching Pokmon battles.
One thing Darvala is pretty good at mentally, is patience. She doesn't get mad that easily, but even when she does get mad, it's hard to tell. She hides her emotions efficiently, unless she is really excited, or if she just wants to show a good thanks to hide her dissappointment or along the lines of that subject. Another thing; If she tells you her name, she will usually tell you she is 'Ironhide', rather liking her nickname because she hates her first name, Darvala. A key thing to remember is: She is a MAJOR tomboy, so, therefore, hates girly girl things.
A couple things that tend to get her angry are: Pokmon abuse. Pokmon abuse would get practically everyone angry, in Darvala's opinion. Something else is, people who reckon they are better than everybody else. One other thing that aggravates her is...People singing, humming, or whistling off-key. It just ticks her off, and even though she tries to ignore it, it always comes back to bite her, and she somtimes loses it if the person doesn't hault their singing or whatever it is they are doing.
Rarely does Darvala get ill. In her past, she has only gotten sick twice, though she has tried faking it a few times. With her parents, it doesn't work. Sleeping is something she really enjoys. If there would be one thing she could do all day every day, it would definately be sleeping. Though, throw in some food here and there, and she'd be as joyous as could be.
If approached by someone who is intentionally rude, or is wanting a fight, she would react in diffferent ways, depending on the location, time, and her current mood. If she was feeling ecstatic and riled up about something, she would probably cuss out the person that was intentionally rude to her. If she were extremely mad, she would take out all her anger out on him or her physically...Or, in other words, beat 'em up. If she were depressed, she would most likely just ignore them. If it were a fight the opposing person would be looking for, they would most likely get it, as long as she wasn't depressed. Though, when she is ecstatic about something, and you get into a fist-fight with her, her cockiness could probably help her out.
There are not many things that divvy Darvala, if any. Night is definately not one, as she thinks night if fun to be in, and often writes poems about it. Any evil teams, such as Team Jade, Team Magma, Team Rocket, and so on, don't give her fear, either. To her, they are just people who went down the wrong path, but can still be helped if given the chance. She has only one fear at the moment, which is: Death. She has heard a lot of things about death before, which makes her superstitious about it, uncertain...And, deep down inside of her, terrified. It is nothing she has gotten close to experiencing yet, which is why she is so terrified of it.
Obsessions of Darvala's are not many, but the extent of them makes up for how few they are. Her main one is art&music, both at the same level. Her best drawing, she thinks, was her third drawing; One of their own Pokmon that helped them keep their electricity bill down; Their Pichu. Darvala had caught Pichu dancing a bit, and liked a certain pose that she had gotten in, and asked her to pose for a while, as she drew. Another obsession of hers is computers of any kind. She can take a computer apart piece by piece, wire by wire, and then put it back together with no troubles. Her last obsession is mechanics. For some reason, she loves to take old and battered vans and cars apart, and find out what's wrong with them, then add improvements to them to make them more souped up.
What does Darvala look for in the opposite sex, you ask? Well, nothing, really. Just, basically, a swell guy that doesn't like to show off to ladies. She does have a current crush, but, he is already taken by someone...Though he hasn't even talked in person to the girl. There were very few guys that actually caught her eye that were her age, and besides Jake, the guy that she admires, none other are really as catching as he is. He is very kind, friendly, sociable, and he lives just right nearby as well.
History
Darvala, ever since she was old enough to talk, think, and act for herself, was known as a shy, quiet girl in public. However, at home, she is known to be rambunctious. Through the years, she has gotten more into guy things, and more out of the more girly things, such as extremely cute Pokmon. Darvals is more into Pokmon Battles and Contests rather than snuggling with cute Pokemon, fo' sho'. Also, she has learned to be a sort of healer herself with Pokemon, despite her looks. She knows how to approach a stray hurt Pokemon, and usually carries a few extra splints and bandages in her bag, just in case.
Darvala hardly ever listens to her parents, and the only time she ever went to them is if she needed money or something...When she was older, that is. Every now and then, she'll spend time with them if she feels up to it, but other than that, she can be seen on her porch, sketching a Pidgey perching nearby, or a Rattata eating nearby, or a Buneary sleeping.
Recently, she has become more...Unresponsive, due to her brother going to jail for a long time now, and her parents being almost completely broke, just barely affording to keep a roof over their heads and food in their belly's. Her parents had never thought of her becoming a trainer, as they only had a Pichu of their own, which provided them with their electricity, a Mudkip for their water, and a Houndoom for their warmth. So, all they really had was a house to pay for, and internet connection. Darvala isn't really used to regular electricity, since she has no lighting of her own, technically. But, she has been known to have a great mind, to think quickly and get out of sticky situations.
One last thing about Darvala. She is not that up-to-date on technology, but is great on how to fix things. Sort of like a 'Grease Aipom' is what her parents call her. ((Haha, thought of that myself XDD)) A mechanic, a friendly person at school, an artist, a musician, and a weight-lifter is what she is known for, though, she does have other things that she is not known for, and that she does not wish to show other people.
Darvala's family first became poor after the Pokmon Daycare they used to run was dissolved by local pranks and small wild Pokmon gangs. Her mom took a few months to find a new job, and their Pichu, Mudkip, and Houndoom helped them out in that hard time. Luckily, it wasn't during the winter whilst it happened. They were also down in the dumps because Darvala's brother, Sammy, got put in jail for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He had just exited a museum, running, because he was late on a date ((Haha, that rhymes x3)), and as he reached the bottom step, the museum exploded, killing a few people, and injuring many more. He was accused of it, even though he had never touched a bomb in his life, and is not known for violence. Darvala was devastated, and thus, this is where she began to ONLY respond to the name 'Ironhide'.
Especially since her brother's imprisonment, she has been going to her own little sanctuary in a small area of woods nearby. She has made a few friends of some Starly, Pidgey, Rattata, Buneary, and a Pachirisu. She just tends to bond with Pokemon, even though they are wild, quite well. They always cheered her up, and she always brought food to them. Darvala's parents always ponder where she goes off to, but don't ask, for fear of breaking the happiness of when she returns hours later. The few friends Darvala had at the time consisted of only Pokemon, and one friend...One that moved away just a week before she was set to start her journey as a trainer.
Calli was Darvala's best human friend. Every time something went wrong for either of them, they would cheer each other up. A few times, Darvala even brought Calli to her secret sanctuary from reality. Sadly, Calli's mother, who had been sick for a while, had to move away, to be closer to better hospitality. One thing that helps Darvala remember her best friend, and brother, in this crisis, is one song that they both loved. ((Listen to it here))
About Her Parents
Darvala's mother went to school, but only finished High School, and got married right afterwards, to some guy named Bill. Her mother, Lori, was only nineteen at the time, and Bill had just turned twenty. After about five or six years of marriage, they learned that it wouldn't work out between them, so they divorced, Bill giving Lori custody of their two girls, who were three and one; Tawnya and Trista.
After a year of being single, Lori finally met up with another guy, who was Spanish. How they met was sorta weird, actually. Back in High School, he had moved to the region, to learn English, and get away from the Spanish world, perhaps start a better life than his mother, father, and his fifteen brothers and sisters had or were going to start. Lori helped him out a lot, giving him secret English lessons, helping him with certain homework, and so on. They kept in touch after that, and when Dave found out about Lori's divorce, he sympathized her, and he finally got the guts to ask her out on a bus in a large city that was jam-packed with people.
They dated for about a year, and then Dave proposed to Lori, sunset at a beach, with Wingull screaming in the background. They had two kids; Sammy, and Darvala. They almost lost Darvala to an unknown disease when she was only a couple months old, and for a few years, she was sickly, and kept having to be checked and monitored. Sammy, meanwhile, was usually always off doing what boys do while his parents stayed with Darvala at the hospital day and night.
About Her Siblings[/i]
Tawnya, the oldest sister, was a troublemaker from the start. She was always picking fights when she was young, reading dirty magazines when she was older, and so on. So, eventually, she just ran away from where she was living, at the age of about fifteen, to live with her grandparents on her dad's side. Her excuse was 'My parents have too many rules', and her parents didn't try to stop her.
Trista, the second oldest sister, and the youngest produced from Bill, was much more disciplined, but still was mischevious at times. She achieved excellent grades in school, and was pretty good at sports and such, especially at cheerleading. She was like a guy-magnet, though she knew just by how a guy acted if he would at least be given a shot at. She has dated a few guys, but either had to break up, or they lost contact from moving because of College eventually, or some odd other reason.
Sammy, the oldest of the two from Dave, and the only son, was...Well...Quite a handful as soon as he got into his teens. Magazines, music, and things he read anywhere were things 'inappropriate' for him at the time. Though he read nasty things, and even did a few nasty things with girls when he was older, he wasn't too bad of a kid. One thing he would never do was purposely, or intentionally, injure a person.
Currently[/i]
Her brother is in jail, still trying to convince the police that he wasn't the one who had bombed the museum, and at the same time, trying to keep in contact with his current girlfriend, Nikkie. He has never done anything in his past, such as drugs or anything, so it should be a bit easier to win the case that is currently held on him.
Tawnya is married, and his three kids. Tahlia, the oldest, girl is seven. Alianna, the middle girl, just turned six, and Maura, the youngest girl, is four. Billy secretly hides his disappointment that they don't have any boys, but is excited that they will be getting one soon, since Tawnya is expecting again.
Trista is dating, and going to College. She is having issues with her boyfriend, but her work takes her mind off of him. She works as an assistant at any PokeCenter that she is needed, at almost any time. Even with her complications, and sometimes ridiculous hours she works, she remains among the top in her class.
Mom and dad are at home, alone, spending even less money than before, and have actually payed off some bills. They have gotten quite a new few friends, since people sympathize that they are getting older, and are alone now, with their daughter gone. They are managing well, physically, since Darvala left. But, mentally and emotionally, they are not doing as good. Their last kid, the runt of the litter, had finally left, and it is much quieter around.
Anything Else?
She always carries a sketchpad around, so she can draw.
