Appearance
Dante is a tall, slender, young man from the Sinnoh Region. He is exactly 6"1 ft tall and weighs exactly 169lbs.
His hair is a jet, midnight black that is starting to cover his eyes, reaching to his eyebrows at the moment. It's usually kept neatly combed straight down with the bangs slightly curved to the right. The hair folds back and behind the ears because sometimes, hair of the ears irritates the mess out of him. It reaches down only to the halfway point on his neck which is just the length he likes it.
His eyes are a deep , mahogany that may change slightly to a dark brown or clear red depending on the seasons. His skin is slightly tanned in all places, including the groin area( :] )
You'll usually see him wearing a plain black shirt with the graphic of a pokeball printed on the back, covered by an unzipped vest of red, purple, and black. The shirt sags on the right side to cover his pocket where his most precious item is held. He wears a blue wristband around his right wrist over his glove, the gloves of which are on both hands. The gloves are fingerless with a silver circle on both. He wears a pair of ruffled, baggy blue jeans with an individual hole in the right knee. A chain hangs from his right pocket for no certain reason. His shoes are a pair of white track shoes with a few red decals on the side and a red stripe from the tongue and down to the toe. The shoes are pretty normal in age, as are all of his clothes. In his right pocket, his most precious item, a piece of a deep, crystal blue..well... crystal from his friend, stays secure and safe, serving as a good luck charm through rough times.
Dante has pretty slim arms, but that doesn't limit his strength. He served as a mover for a while during his Champion of Sinnoh status to help out. He's a pretty fast runner also, which is the reason for his Track shoes being sort of worn out by traveling large distances with his Pokemon.
Personality
Dante is pretty laid back and funny, but he can also be one of the most helpful, hardest working people you will ever know. He's usually happy and bashful when around people, keeping a bright smile on at all times. Barely anything ever gets him so mad that he would go on an angry rampage, which is one of his best traits. When hanging out with anyone, he's quite calm and collected, doing whatever it is his friends feel like and whatnot. When alone, he will either be happy or adventurous.
There is the rare occasion of him being angry, but during that time, he take a Mento or two and gets over it. While battling another Trainer or Pokemon, adrenaline will rush through his body and he will immediately change channels on you, going into his competitive train of thought. It takes a lot to get him sad, but when he is sad, he doesn't just take a Mento or two to get over it, he sits alone in a cool, dark place outside or inside in an air conditioned room in the corner with the lights off, contemplating the things he could've done to prevent his sudden sadness.
All in all, Dante is a very tough, yet sensitive guy that always puts his all into completing any task.
History
"Dante, breakfast is almost ready! Hurry up and stop messing around!" "Dante! Listen to your mother and hurry on down here!"
It was 10:23 a.m. and everything was silent in the small town of LittleRoot. Not even the Starly flew overhead with their song of the coming morning. Nothing ever happened in LittleRoot, nothing, at least until toady. Today, in a small house located by the small pond, lived a small family. Their son, Dante Hyubasi, had finally come of age to become the one thing he had always dreamt of becoming. A Pokemon Trainer.
For as long as his parents could remember, he had been completely fascinated with the Pokemon League battles on T.V., along with Pokemon themselves. Dante had a myriad of books on Pokemon from all regions, including legends and how they may have started. Dante was trying to hurry, but he was shuddering with excitement, goosebumps forming on his sensitive skin. He was waiting to open the package that Proffesor Rowan left for him before leaving to the Kanto Region. He was currently brushing his teeth, the mint foam washing away last nights MeatLoaf remains that stuck to his teeth after brushing last night. He spit into the sink and gargled mouth rinse, spitting that out afterwards. He looked at himself in the mirror and nodded with a great smile. He grabbed his backpack full of everything he needed and rushed downstairs.
"There you are, Dante. We were beginning to suspect you had died up there," said his father. "Hey, I'm a little excited, so where's my package from Dr.Rowan?" "Dante, worry about the package after breakfast, please? You know you don't eat when after you get to excited." "Mom, I'm alright. What's for breakfast, anyways?" "Your favorite, Champ. Cold Cereal." "Honey, really? Can we not be like this today?" "I'm just joking with him, you know that." "Guys, really, what IS for breakfast?" Dantes' parents laughed and shook their heads. "We're having pancakes, eggs, and bacon." "Great, just what I needed. Man am I hungry." Dante rubbed his belly as it rumbled. Him and his family sat down as the breakfast was laid on the table. They all began to eat, talking about random subjects other than Dantes' adventure.
Dante and his mother began on the dishes while his father went for the package. It was pretty heavy, not much though. He sat it on the table with a soft thud, making Dante turn his head. He smiled and began to dry the dishes faster, excited when the last one had been dryed off. He immediately turned around and opened the package. Inside was a Trainers license, two potions, five empty pokeballs, and the pokeball containing his Pokemon of choice, Turtwig.
"Come on out, TURTWIG," yelled Dante as he threw the pokeball at an empty space on the table. A foilage covered turtle, much like a snapper turtle, appeared on the table, giving Dante a bright smile. "Yeah! Hey, Dad, Mom, I love you guys very much, don't forget that at all, not even for one second." "Alright baby, I hope you have fun *Sniff*" "*Sniff*Well, I'm proud of you boy, go on and make me even prouder father ever." Dante nodded and ran outside, all of the items in his pack, Turtwig following.
"Dante!" Dante stopped and turned to see a girl, about his age, waiting by the door to her house. "Um, yeah, Elena, whats up?" "I-I just wanted to give you this." Elena held out a crystal of blue. "I found it one day while traveling in that one cave, you know, the one in the middle of the lake?" "Yeah... Thanks a bunch Elena, I'll keep it with me forever, I'll think of you everytime I see it." Elena smiled and hugged Dante tightly. "Come back.... As the Champion... I want to see your dream come true... That crystal will help..." Dante almost fell into tears, but sucked in his bottom lip and nodded. "I'll come back for you. You and I will be known around the world!" Elena nodded at the same time he did. "Hurry up, Dante, you wanted to start your journey before anyone woke up, so go." Dante gave Elena a thumbs-up and ran out of LittleRoot town, waving good-bye to Elena one last time.
After Becoming Champion
It was a sunny day, nothing seemed to be going on at the moment, so Dante was waiting outside, walking around. It had been exactly three months since he became Champion of Sinnoh, and he was loving every minute. He heard someone yelling his name... Cynthia! "Cynthia, over here!" "Dante! How's it been going. I see you've been holding up the fort pretty well, eh?" Dante smiled and looked over at the Champion Tower. "Yeah. Everything has been great. As you see, I live up to my nickname, Sinnohs' Roughest." Cynthia giggled. "Yes, indeed. I wouldn't be happy with any other trainer in my place except you, Dante, you're my greatest challenge yet. You haven't lost in only weeks of becoming Champion, either, like all of the others." "Hey, I've got a reputation to keep up, so I can't lose quickly." Cynthia looked all the way up at the peak of the Champion Tower. "I remember when I had to go up there to meet the Trainers as their final challenge." Dante looked over at Cynthia..or... looked a bit down, seeing as he was taller than her. He then looked behind him, seeing a giant bird Pokemon, none other than Fearow, with a Trainer on its back.
"Hey, Cynthia, we've got company." Cynthia looked at the Trainer and smiled. "Well, I guess I'd better be on my way then so as to not-" "Nonsense, come with me to the top of the Champion Tower... you said you wanted to see me battle once in the letter, didn't you?" "Oh, that's right....well, lead the way, Champion." Dante ran into the building with Cynthia only a step behind. When they were in, he said, "Trainer coming, Cynthia is with me, come on!" The two ran all the way past the Elite Four, leaving them in a daze. "Well, I see everyone is still happy with their spot in the Elite Four." "Yes....yes..*huff,huff* Shall we watch?" The two sat in a few beanbag chairs Dante had placed in the room and watched on a screen, the Trainer and the Elite Four. It took maybe twenty minutes before the Trainer finally arrived, ready as ever it seemed.
"Ah! You must be him. Welcome David, to the Champions' Room. I'm glad you made it this far. David, you've completed tasks like none other has done before. YOU.. May just go down in history as Sinnohs' next Champion, but, you have to go through me first, so, as Sinnohs' Champion, I accept your challenge for my spot. Are you ready?" "I've been ready all my life, Lets Go!" David sent out an Infernape, a most healthy one at that. "Ah! Infernape, I see, well, remember, I am Sinnohs' Roughest, so, Go, Torterra!" Torterra slammed on the ground as it descended from the pokeball. "Torterra, use EarthQuake!" Torterra, Cynthia, and David braced themselves for the impact, while Dante stood as he was, grinning. "Remember, Ground-Type moves are Super Effective against Fire Type Pokemon."
Infernape wobbled and was then thrown around by the earthquake, bouncing up and down off of the floor. When it ended, Infernape was outcold. "Return, Infernape. Go! Weavil!" David sent out Weavil and Dante returned Torterra, sending out his next Pokemon, MetaGross. "So, lets see what you've got David, make your move." "Weavil, Ice Punch!" Weavils' fist was engulfed in ice as it slammed it into Metagross. Metagross was pushed back, ice still left on its head. "Well, Metagross, HYPERBEAM!" Metagross charged up energy and shot a full blast at Weavil who had just landed on the ground from the punch, knocking it out. "How many Pokemon left, David?" "Four, Why?" "Hm... Lets make a deal.. how about I let you send out all of your Pokemon...but let me send out two....is that a deal?" David contemplated this for a second and agreed. "Sure. Go! Fearow, Slowking, Rhyperior, and Heracross!" "Metagross, return. Go! Luxray and Torterra!" The battle was on.
"TORTERRA! One last time! EARTHQUAKE!" Torterra raised itself on its two hind legs and slammed down as hard as he could, creating a large rumbling of the ground. David and all of his Pokemon went flying up into the air, bouncing on each other. They all landed bunched up on the floor, making them the one thing Dante needed to win this. "Luxray! THUNDERBOLT!" The lights flickered on and off, creating an ominous scene that just screamed "End-Game". Luxray released its energy all on the pile and shocked them all, giving them char marks.
"Well, I think I've won?" Cynthia clapped alone as Dante nodded with a grin. David returned all of his Pokemon, biting his lower lip. "Hey, David. Just because you lost...doesn't mean you can't train harder and try again. Go on, train with others, grow closer to your Pokemon. Come back to me a different Trainer, one who can beat me." David nodded and walked out. "I miss the battles... I miss them alot." "Well....today may be your lucky day Cynthia. I've been meaning to ask you this for quite sometime now." Cynthia looked at Dante, eyes large. "I've felt like I've needed to go and... I mean... I want to go adventuring again....with new Pokemon. So..will you take my place as Sinnoh's Roughest Champion?"
Cynthia looked at Dante blankly, but then a large smile cracked over her face as she jolted up to give him a hug. "Thank you Dante.... I will gladly take your place." "Well, that's good.. just remember though, I will come back, and I will face you again, so be prepared. I have great faith in you Cynthia like you had great faith in me when I was inducted.... you'll do a great job. If you ever need me for anything, just send me a letter or what not, K?" Cynthia nodded. "Alright, have fun Dante. I can't wait for your return." And with that, Dante walked out of the Tower, informing everyone on his way down. He took out his StarRaptor and smiled at her, rubbing her head. "Well, my friend, we'll be traveling to the Sinjoenn Region, you think you can make it?" StarRaptor looked at him funny. "No... I know you can make it, I have no doubt, I raised you to be strong.... so lets be on our way. To the Sinjoenn Region!"
