Conor Fitz stopped as he came to the beginning of the route. Taking out Eruptor's Pokeball, he said, "Eruptor, come on out!" The young Numel appeared and took a glance at its surroundings. Seeing the confusion on Eruptor's face,Conor said, "Let's start things out with a little introduction. I am Conor Fitz, your friend. And you are Eruptor, a Numel. I am also your Trainer; however, that does not make me your master. I am your friend. Well Eruptor, let's see where this route takes us." Eruptor nodded and followed his friend down the route, staying by Conor's side the whole time.

There came a snuffling among the bushes nearby. Conor must have seen the rustle before the thing causing the rustle, because after the boy's eyes turned towards it, the bush fell silent. A furious growling came from it, followed by two barks, and finally a battle-like howl. Yellow eyes pieced through the green tinted shadows. Not a friendly Pokemon, then.
~YENA! Pooch!~ Poochyena barked as it flew out the cover of the leaves. It glared at Conor, then eyed Eruptor. It cocked it's head and snarled, lip curling back to reveal viscious fangs. Perhaps a gentle approach would not work; it seemed Poochyena was challenging you to a battle.

Conor watched the Dark-type as it burst out from the bushes. Eruptor, still to young to even know fear is, looked at the Poochyena curiously. Noticing that the Poochyena was challenging them to a battle, Conor looked to Eruptor and said, "Well Eruptor, it seems that we have our first battle. Now, I will call out commands you just follow them. Okay?" Eruptor nodded and shifted his attention to the Poochyena. "Alright Eruptor, lets start things off with an Growl, followed up by a Tackle!" Conor ordered. Eruptor nodded and began to concentrate on using the first attack.

Poochyena gave a low 'uff' as the Growl commenced. The Numel could be frightening when it wanted to be, and the Growl most definately weakened the puppy's attack. Then a Tackle? What? Hadn't Numel already moved? And why was Conor calling him an Eruptor? Oh, this was so confusing. Poochyena was still trying to puzzle things out when and during the time he was hit by the Tackle.
Poochyena descided to take a leaf out Numel's book. Spreading it's legs out to give it firmer standing, it bent it's head down and emitted a low, rumbling growl. This steadily grew, and as it did, Poochyena raised it's head. Soon it was making a long, wavering Howl. Psyched up, with it's attack back to normal, Poochyena charged in it's own Tackle.

'Hmm, seems to me that this Poochyena isn't to smart. Time to go on the offensive.' thought Conor as he watched the battle. Seeing the Poochyena charge forward with a Tackle attack, Conor knew that Eruptor was to slow to dodge. So he did the only logical thin, at least in his mind. "Alright Eruptor, charge forward with your own Tackle attack. You might not be able to dodge easily, so throw your weight into this attack. That way it could do more damage." Eruptor nodded and gave a meek nod. The Numel charged forward with his own Tackle attack.

Poochyena and Eruptor's Tackles met, both Pokemon snarling in attempt to be stronger than the other. Poochyena was slipping backwards, but without warning he leapt quickly away, sending Eruptor crashing into a tree. Okay, it wouldn't hurt the Numel much, but still, it would be enough to inflict some pain. Poochyena barked, then tossed it's head and clenched it's muscles, preparing for the next attack.

Conor grimaced as Eruptor hit the tree. "Sorry Eruptor. I'll try to think better when it comes to creating strategies. Anyways, back to the battle. I did not want to try this until later, but this seems that this might be the opportune moment. I think that you might have inherited Ancient Power from one of your parents. Try to give it a go. Well Eruptor, use Ancient Power. " Eruptor nodded and said, with a shaky voice, "I-I'll try." He then tried to charge up an Ancient Power attack.

Poochyena gave a snarl as it saw Eruptor ready what looked like an Ancient Power attack. But... Numel didn't learn that, did they? Yep, it was certain that the fiery camels did not learn this. It must be... one of those magical things that happen sometimes. Humans knew how to breed them so they were learned. They were called Migg Moves or something. Migg, Megg, Egg, something like that. Anyway, Poochyena now had to deal with the chunks of rock flying towards it.
~Yena!~ it wailed in pain as it was flung into the very tree Eruptor had been in just a few moments before. That was stronger than any of the puppy's attacks. It would have to fight harder; it would not lose to this human! Poochyena howled a cry of battle into the air, before charging forward in the only offensive move it knew; Tackle.

Conor grinned in excitement as Eruptor pulled off a successful Ancient Power. "Boo ya! Now that's what I'm talking about Eruptor. All right, now back down to business. Eruptor concentrate again and fire an Ancient Power at the Poochyena as it charges towards you. Get ready... FIRE!" said Conor thrusting his hand forward. Eruptor nodded and prepared to fire off the Ancient Power.

Poochyena gave a pained whimper as the Ancient Power sent it tumbling head-over-heels. It wished it wouldn't do that; Poochyena didn't know any moves of that amount of power. What was Ancient Power, 60 power level? Tackle had 40. Still, not too much of a difference. If Poochyena could do anything, which, of course, it could (or so it though), it would easily beat this foolish human. Ha! Paws were lifted off the ground, the front legs waving threateningly in the air as the puppy reared up like a horse, before leaping into the air and using the momentum gained to push it's Tackle attack even faster.

Conor grinned as he thought of a plan quickly. 'Ah so it is about to use a Tackle attack, eh? Time for a little retribution for that tree stunt earlier.' he thought. Looking towards Eruptor, Conor said, "Alright Eruptor, I want you to use Tackle this time. Also I want you to throw your weight into it. This way when you two collide, Poochyena is going to be the one who gets hurt more. I would say good luck, but I don't believe in luck." Eruptor nodded and prepared to charge towards its adversary with a Tackle.

It wasn't a match of strength when it cam to Tackle-on-Tackle, it was also a matter of weight. Poochyena was a relatively light Pokemon, enabing it good speed and agility. Eruptor, and Numel in general, were heavier, made to deal hard attacks, take hard attacks, but not dodge. Therefore, when the two collided, Poochyena began to have a hard time. It bared it's teeth, growling in effort as it desperately attempted to shove Eruptor in the opposite diection. It was loosing ground, paws sliding along the dusty surface as attempted to stay put. Failing, the dog gave up. Eruptor's attack did not stop, and Poochyena found itself flung to the ground, coming to a stop a few feet away. Was it defeated? No- it slowly stood up on shaking legs, charging again in another Tackle.

Conor grinned as Eruptor successfully used his weight to push the Poochyena back. "All right! Way to go Eruptor. Great Job!" praised Conor. Seeing the Poochyena wobbling to stand up, Conor thought, 'Whoa... that is one tough Poochyena. I thought that it would have gone down by now. I gotta say this guy has some determination to win. Unfortunately, it is about to lose this battle. Time to finish this,' Conor then said, "Eruptor, fire an Ancient Power at the Poochyena as it comes forward." Eruptor heard this, nodded and prepared to charge up an Ancient Power.

Poochyena was angry with itself. It had only taken three attacks, so why should it be feeling all weak like this? As though it would faint any moment? No! No! NO! This was wrong, wrong, WRONG! It should be the other way around! Eruptor should be weak and loosing within just a few of Poochyena's amazing, powerful attacks! Well, it would show Eruptor and the foolish human. A surge of hate pumped adrenalin around the puppy's body, giving him a trickle of extreme energy. As the Ancient Power flew towards it, it started the loudest, most attack raising Howl ever, and then rolled out the way as the little chunks of rock flew over it's head. With it's now even more increased attack power, running on raw adrenalin, the chemical which had been said to allow woman to lift cars with their babies trapped underneath, the Poochyena used Tackle. It was moving so fast it was almost a blur, and when it collided with Eruptor the Numel would be sent flying through the air, crashing into some rocks. That would hurt, but something Poochyena hadn't counted for was that the impact and the force required would drain the last of it's energy. Eruptor would be weak after, but Poochyena would either faint or faint after the slightest touch. If the attack missed, then Eruptor would be back a few steps, for Poochyena's adrenalin energy helped it.

Conor grimaced as the Poochyena hit Eruptor and threw him back. 'Darn it, that had to hurt. Well at least the Poochyena is weak now. I guess that it is time to finish this. Time to show this little Poochyena who's boss.' thought Conor as he analyzed the Poochyena. "All right Eruptor it is time to finish this. After this battle you will be able to take a break. Charge forward with a Tackle and throw your weight into it again. This should be the finisher." Eruptor nodded and prepared to charge forward with a Tackle attack.
