Tailow landed in the path of Chikorita's Tackle. It was panting heavily, but it had a plan. A plan which, if pulled off, it might just win with. So long as Chikoritas could not fly- you never knew, what with the things trainers gave their Pokemon. It shivered, but even that took a toll on it's energy; it's gasping pant were even more laboured. It was surprised Chikorita hadn't hit, but it was close to it, maybe it should start the plan. Tailow nodded, stretching out it's aching wings and launching itself into the air.

Or, at least, that's what it was dreaming. In reality, as soon as it had begun to stretch out it's wings, Chikorita had slammed into it. Giving a shrill cry, it skidded over the ground, leaving an indent in the dirt as it did so. Fainted. Well done, Chikorita!

Shinx saw it's defeated companion and let out a wail of fear. Scary. Hurt. Tailow. No. Trainer. Tailow. Hurt. Danger. Words swam to the surface of it's small mind, and it uttered a terrified whimper. Covering it's eyes with it's paws at the disaster, it did not see Murkrow approuching, and so was dealt a heavy blow into it's side. The paws came away, revealing pained and angry eyes. Then it swayed and fell, bringing up dust.

Arley blinked, as one after the other, both opposing Pokémon fell to the ground. Chikorita strutted up proudly, and began to rub against his leg.
{So?} Absol asked, getting to its feet. {Are you going to catch them, or what?}
Arley nodded, albeit a little hesitantly. {Sure, I guess. Only Taillow seemed to have had some sort of plan - before Chikorita knocked it out. I suppose I can ask him about it - or her - once we get to a pokémon center.}

Grabbing two Pokéballs from his belt, he weighed them in his hands for a few seconds, then threw them, watching in satisfaction as they arced through the air and landed, one by each wild Pokémon. Hopefully the two were too fatigued to be able to break out (though he'd feel very guilty if he'd actually knocked them out cold).

ooc// I don't know what levels Chikorita and Murkrow are on, but I think they would have gained one level each. You'll have to check to rule.

Absol nosed at the Pokéballs containing their new teammates, before swiping his bladed tail almost like a golf club and knocking them into Arley's paws. He clipped them both to his belt and grinned.
{Guess we'd better keep going, guys. I've heard there can be trouble around the routes. We're still close to the lab, so we shouldn't be in too much danger, but apparently there was this boy who had a run-in with a mutated legendary pokémon. Stick together, okay?}
Absol shook his mane and went to stand by Arley.
{If there's any danger, get behind me.} he said authoritively. {I am the strongest.}
{Pah. You're over-reacting.} Murkrow muttered. {I bet nothing is going to happen. I mean, really, what are the chances of an evil team coming and kidnapping us all?}
