Lux wasn't sure whether he was really winning or is Pidgey was letting him. Either way, he wanted to get stronger so he could help his trainer and team more. Plus, this Pidgey might become part of said team! Nox saw this too. He could see that Pidgey might perhaps be not battling as hard as it could, but that didn't really matter. "Lux, well done! Now dodge with Quick Attack!" Lux heard his trainer cry. The Riolu's powerful back legs pushed him off the ground, and the Pidgey's Tackle clipped his shoulder, slowing him down a little, as he turned in a wide arc to return and hopefully deal damage.

The Skitty, noticing that the Pichu was ready for a counterattack, changed its course. Instead of bringing its tail around, it picked up its speed at last second for a Tackle instead. The Skitty was somewhat inexperienced, but for being somewhat inexperienced had some good tricks up its sleeve. The Skitty felt confident about defeating this Pichu, but what if the trainer had another Pokemon? That could turn out to be a problem, it knew. But, it would fight until the very end. Don't give up; keep fighting until there's not a breath left in you.
The Pidgey was glad it at least got a bit of its Tackle on the Riolu. Of course, with that Riolu as powerful as he was, it was obvious who would win, even if the Pidgey did attempt a little. The Pidgey turned around in time to see the Riolu coming at it with another Quick Attack. In a frantic attempt to keep the battle going a bit longer, the Pidgey beat its wings hard again, using another Sand-Attack at the Riolu. Of course, the Riolu might be able to dodge, then would make a clean hit as the Pidgey was quite exposed, but if the Riolu ran into the Sand-Attack, he woudl temporarily be blinded, again.

That was it, Pichu got knocked against Kairi getting knocked out cold,"Pichu!" Kairi screamed. Kairi was mad now. It seened the Skitty had taken this battle way too sirius. Her Pichu's leg was broken very badly so was his tail,"Damn you! You broke my Pichu's leg and tail. You didn't have to take this battle that serius. We'll let you still play together after we catch you. You'll still be with Pidgey. Go Happy!" Kairi screamed sending her Happiny into battle.
Happy took one look at the battle at hand and started crying,"Happy! Stop it!" Kairi screamed holding her ears,"After you finish this battle I'll get you a nice loalipop."
The Happiny cheared up at once and started hopping up and down happily,"Happiny! Hap! Hap Piny!"
"Happy use Pound attack!" Kairi called out. Happy started bounding over to the Skitty looking more like she wanted to play with it then battle it. This Pokemon acted like a baby Pokemon. She stopped in front of Skitty asking it,+Let's play! Play! Play! Play!+
Happy jumped around in a circle around Skitty. Kairi sighed,"Happy! Your supposed to attack it not play with it!" Kairi reminded Happy. Happy grinned at Kairi, as she jumped up in the air coming down for a Pound attack.

Lux, being of little experiance, fell for Pidgey's tricks again. He gave a disgruntled growl as he turned, furious, in all directions, desperately attempting to be free of this stupid bird's sand. He sighed, breathing slowly in attempt to remain calm. He would just have to remember this experiance and learn from his mistakes; after all, wasn't that part of what battling all the Pokemon was about? The Riolu stood perfectly still until the wind blew the sand away, then blinked at Nox. He had not taken much damage, but neither had Pidgey because of Sand Attack.
Nox smiled at Lux. "Don't worry, Lux, you're still learning. Remember this for future referance. Try another Blaze Kick." he said, giving Kairi a sympathetic look as Pichu took a direct attack. Lux seemed a little less confident at the sight of the equally strong Pokemon defeat a Pokemon as strong as he. He shook his head, squeezing his eyes shut to regain hope. Jumping high into the air, the Fighting type's blazing back paw was heading toward Pidgey.

The Skitty stopped and watched as the Pichu, who was obviously quite weak for having its tail and leg broken, was withdrawn. +If you don't take battles seriously, then you won't likely end up winning,+
[/color] the Skitty mumbled. This trainer was quite... irritating. It cursed it for hurting her Pichu; if she didn't want her Pichu to be hurt, then why did she battle with it? Trainers make no sense, the Skitty decided. But, the Skitty had never had a trainer, so it didn't understand much of anything trainers did anyways. Perhaps if it allowed itself to be caught, it would learn. Seeing the Happiny, the Skitty sighed. It was barely even able to defeat the Pichu; now a Happiny? Even if the Skitty tried its hardest, it would definitely not win. Besides, with the current Pokemon this trainer had... she could definitely use a stronger Pokemon, such as the Skitty. When the Happiny started asking to play, the Skitty stepped back a bit in confusion. Obviously this Pokemon had no experience in battling, and was very childish. When the Happiny finally attacked, it was quite easy to dodge, because the Skitty had expected it from the very beginning. Well, might as well at least try this... the Skitty thought, charging at the Happiny with a Tackle shortly after it attacked with its Pound. +I must say, I am quite impressed with your first time battling, Lux. Usually all the starter Pokemon don't make it this far. And I'm sure you're going to get your trainer a new Pokemon by the end of this,+[/color] the Pidgey said to the Riolu as he clawed the sand out of his eyes. The Pidgey could have easily attacked again, but it was feeling a bit... generous. It wanted the Riolu to win. That Blaze Kick had done a number on him before; if he let the Riolu hit him again with another Blaze Kick, the Riolu would win. The Pidgey had an idea for going out in style, though. When Lux's trainer commanded him to use Blaze Kick again, the Pidgey was relieved; the battle could end sooner than it had expected. The Pidgey flapped its wings a few times to get a big higher in the air, and while the Riolu was coming at it, the Pidgey flew at it. With an extra oomph of its wings, it flapped sand in the direction of the Riolu while at the same time flying fast enough for a Tackle. The Pidgey wished to inflict at least a little more damage before it went out, and this was its chance. A large small cloud of dust large enough to conceal the Riolu and Pidgey was formed when the Pidgey made contact with the Riolu. When the dust cleared, and hopefully Lux's eyes, too, the Pidgey was on the path sprawled out, in obvious defeat, too weak to fight. Congratulations, Lux! You defeated wild Pidgey! Lux gains TWO levels![/size][/center] |

The attack hit Happy but didn't do anything to her cause it didn't hit hard enough. All she did was roll around like a beach ball,+Hehe, your funny,+ Happy laughed as she continued rolling on the ground even after the attack had ended. Kairi sighed. She wished Happy would take battles more sirius,"Ok Happy use Copycat!" Kairi commanded.
+Ok, ok. This will be fun! Fun!+ Happy cheered as she copyed Skitty's Tackle. She then giggled as she jumped at Skitty using Tackle attack. 'Come on Happy!' Kairi thought as she watched the battle on hand. She noticed how weaken the Skitty looked. It couldn't be too much longer now,'If this attack hits I'll go ahead and throw a PokeBall.' She thought to herself.
Kairi pulled out a PokeBall. She hide it behind her back. She knew if the Skitty saw the PokeBall ahead of time it might run away. But then she got an idea,"Hey Skitty! Do you want to be with your friend? Then you better make sure you loose this fight," she told the Skitty.

Lux leapt high and punched the air, despite his obviously weak state. He grinned at Nox as the flames curling around his pack paw subsided, and laughed out loud. +You're an awesome trainer, Nox! I think I'm stronger! Yeah, and look! Counter!+[/color] he squealed excitedly into Nox's mind as he drove a rock into the ground, reducing it to dust with his glowng palm. New attacks were nice.
Nox joined in Lux's grin, then tossed a Pokeball at Pidgey. After all, through it's mind, emotions and the small amount of Poketoungue Nox did know, it had told him that the Riolu's stregth would earn him a new Pokemon. He assumed Pidgey meant itself by this as he watched the red light envelope the bird.
He now wondered over to Kairi, eyes still on the wobbling Pokeball. "Could I give you a little advice? I can understand Pokemon, and Happy seems to think this is all a game. Perhaps if you play along, Happy will win easier, or at least evolve of happiness quicker." he commented, watching the Happiny dance around Skitty.[/size]

The Skitty wasn't too pleased with this; it was inevitable it would be captured by this trainer, whom it did not favor one bit, though it was apparent she needed help since her Pichu was quite weak, and the Happiny was much too childish. The Skitty watched with some sign of amusement at the rolling Happiny. It sighed, and knew it would be embarrassed for the rest of its life. Might as well end it now, it thought.
As the Happiny used Copycat, the Skitty let it hit, allowing itself to be sent flying backwards. At the mention 'You'd better lose this battle!', the Skitty was enraged, but knew there was nothing that could be done now. The Pidgey wasn't even a friend; it was a new acquaintance it had met just that morning and they had decided to have a small race in the treetops. But, it would be nice being with a Pokemon she actually knew, though. +Don't press your luck,+
[/color] the Skitty growled to Kairi, collapsing finally, unable to battle. Congratulations! You defeated wild Skitty! Happiny gains two levels! I'd be careful around Skitty, though, if you catch it; it doesn't seem to favor you a whole lot.The Pidgey allowed itself to be sucked into the Pokeball, and wasn't angry that it was caught, but it wasn't ecstatic, either. It only hoped that its new acquaintance would be captured, too, since the two trainers seemed to be traveling with each other. The Pokeball wiggled a few times, then stopped, the center light blinking one last time to signal Pidgey had been caught. Congratulations, Nox! You caught a Pidgey! Kairi cheered, as Skitty fainted. She recalled Happy and threw a PokeBall at the Skitty. She could tell it hated,'Oh well. Maybe pretty soon it will warm up to me when it sees how nice a person I am. Maybe I'll nickname it. Hmm, maybe I'll call it Mittens.' Kairi thought as she returned Happy's ball to her belt as she watched the PokeBall fly towards the Skitty.

Nox, grinned, picking his own Pokeball up as Kairi's came flying towards the fainted Skitty. He ruffled the fur on Lux's head, whose eyes half-closed as he gave a relaxed sigh. "We did it, Lux! We caught our first Pokemon!" Nox smiled.
+What about Devera?+
"Devera doesn't count, she was bought at the shop. Just like Kairi's about to catch her first Pokemon. And no, Happy and Glameow don't count, they were bought and won." he answered, for Lux was about to point out that they should. He instead looked at the Pokeball. +Let's call it Fly.+ he announced.
"Nah, there's bound to be tons of Flying Pokemon called 'Fly'. I was thinking of a more original name. Let's see, if you take a vowel and put it there... how about Minari?" Nox asked, and Lux nodded enthusiastically. The Riolu leapt onto his trainer's shoulder to watch Kairi catch Skitty.

The Skitty unwillingly allowed itself to be sucked into the Pokeball. The Pokeball wiggled for a bit afterwards, and finally stopped, the center button blinking once more to signal the catch of Skitty.

Kairi picked up the PokeBall,"Yey! I did it. Hey Ux. Let's let Mittens and Minari play for a little while longer," Kairi grinned as she let Mittens out of his ball. Mittens glared at Kairi,"Look I'm sorry, I told you to lose. You must hate me for catching you that way. I'm sorry," Kairi said.
+She's sorry! That's how she handles this, by saying she's sorry! Well saying your sorry isn't going to cut it little missy!+ Mittens meowed as he turned his head.
"Hey, would a nickname make you like me? How about Mittens?" She asked him. The Skitty thought about it, and it did kinda suit him, so he agreed to the name.
"Look if you need a little bit of time to get used to me I won't force you to battle ok. I just want to be your friend. There now," Kairi said, as she grinned and reached out and started scratching Mittens behind the ear. He purred with delight. "I have someone I'd like you to meet you may like her. Come on out Sasha!"
Sasha appeared before Mittens and started groaming her furr. Mittens got hearts in his eyes. Sasha was the prettyest cat he ever saw. He fell in love right away. He started trying to get Sasha's attention. Sasha just turned the other way and ingored Mittens. Mittens looked upset by that.
"Oh, Ux we should feed our Pokemon and have lunch before moving on," Kairi said as she called Happy back out. She then took out the first aid kit and attended to Sparky's broken leg and tail. It would be some time before Sparky would be able to battle again. Much less walk.
