Starting in Evergreen Town

(OOC: Sorry about naming it myself but I didn't see any name for this town)

It was morning. The sun was shinning bightly in a certian girl's window. The sun light woke her up. She got up and yawned. This girl was Kairi, Kairi Hill. She is 12 years old, and today she would be getting her Pokemon lisence and beginning her journey today.

Kairi had always loved Pokemon since she was very little. She never really had any friends, expect for the Pokemon which she played with at the lab. So, yea, she already knew Professor Hide from way back. She had been good friends with her mother for a long time now.

Her mother had started out on the same journey that Kairi was going to start out on today when she was her age. Kairi picked up a picture of her mother at her age holding the Grand Fesvibal trophy in her arms. Beside her was her Glameow. They were both smiling and cheering happily in the picture. Kairi grinned. She hoped one day, that that would be her and her Pokemon winning the trophy.

Anyway she got up and did her morning routine and got dressed. She went downstairs for breakfast,"Good morning Glameow," she said petting the cat Pokemon, who was lapping up a bowl of milk. This was that same Glameow that belonged to her mother. The one that had won her the Grand Fesvibal trophy.

Glameow looked up at the girl and meowed then went right back to her bowl of milk. Kairi sit down with her mother at the table,"So Kairi what are you going to do while on this journey. Are you going to be a Coordinator like me, or are you going to be a Trainer and collect badges?" Her mother asked her.

"Hmm. I don't know. I was thinking I'd do both," Kairi explainned.

"Both huh. Are you sure dear? Getting both badges and ribbons may be too much work and be too hard to do," her mother explainned.

"It's ok mother, I'll be find," Kairi grinned.

"At least take this. It's a Poketch. It has everything in it you'll need on your journey," her mother said handing her the watch. She explainned to Kairi the different features of the Poketch and how to use it.

"Ok, I get it," Kairi said. She put the Poketch on her wrist,"Well I'll be going now. Bye mom. Bye Glameow," she petted Glameow one more time before gradding her bag which was already packed for her. Kairi headed out, looking for the lab.

As she walked down the road she noticed a lot of kids around her age also just starting out as trainers. They had there Pokemon with them of course. Kairi couldn't wait to get to the lab and see what the starters are.

Kairi also heard that she'd be getting something called a Pokedex with her starter. It's a little handheld device that records data on Pokemon you see or catch. Kairi couldn't wait for that either. The Pokedex sounded intresting. She heard that it also talks to you with a real voice.

Kairi was so busy thinking about everything she'd do on her journey that she almost walked stright passed the lab and onto the first Route,"Hang on there!" A little boy called to her,"Do you have a Pokemon yet?"

"No not yet," Kairi said.

"Then you shouldn't be leaving town. It's dangerous without a Pokemon. Wild Pokemon could attack you," he explainned.

"Oh! I passed by the lab and didn't even notice. I must have been day dreaming," Kairi said, as she kinda giggled a little bit, rubbing the back of her head,"Thanks a lot."

"No problem," the boy said.

Kairi then turned around and with her thoughts on the lab, she walked up to the door and knocked,"Hello!" She called. There was no answer. She knocked again, and the door silled open,"Anyone home!" She called out though the opened door.

She went inside, thinking she'd look for someone. She saw a table with PokeBalls on it. She figured those must be the starters. She picked up one ball that said Pichu on it,"Pichu, huh," she grinned. Just then the ball glowed as the Pichu appeared before her,"Pichu," it grinned.

"So your a Pichu huh," Kairi grinned,"Hi I'm Kairi nice to meet you." Kairi and the Pichu stook hands. Kairi and Pichu sit there talking while Kairi waited there for the Professor to show up.

It soon became apparent why Professor Hide was so late attending to Kairi. There was a boy, probably only a year at most older than Kairi who was talking to the Professor about starting his journey. His hand ran through his dark brown hair as he pretended not to notcied that a second rookie had entered with expectations.

"I do so know what to do! Please, just give me a chance!" he pleaded to the Professor, who looked sympathetic.

"I would let you, just you have to have to have the advanced planning and paperwork proving it..." Hide shook her haid sadly. A Lucario suddenly placed his oddly-coloured hand on the boy's shoulder, making him jump. The Lucario gave a chuckle. +Hide, he went to one of those trainer schools. This one allowed the orphans to get a Pokemon as soon as they were thirteen.+[/i] a voice sounded inside everyone's heads.

Hide's face relaxed into a smile. "Oh, thank goodness... I guess you'll be able to get your starter after all. This is Optimus, by the way. I'll get everything the items, I'll be over in a minute!" she explained, rushing off through a door.

The boy shrugged, then wondered over to where Kairi was sitting with the friendly Pichu. It cocked it's head at his approuch, and he nodded to it, smiling. Pichu nodded back, and muttered a 'hello'. The boy then turned to Kairi. "Hello. My name is Nox. Nox Umbra. Are you taking that Pichu for your starter?" he asked. He had been about to say more, but then Hide came hurrying back in, two sets of starter items in her arms.

"Kairi! Following in your mother's footsteps, I see! How is your mother? And Glameow? Oh, I see you've met a Pichu! Is that what you want for your starter? What about you, Nox?" she said hurriedly. Nox shrugged again.

"Would it be possible to see a Shinx, Riolu and Absol?" he asked.[/size]

Kairi turned to Pichu,"Would you like to be my Pokemon?" She asked the Pichu. He thought about for a minute then nodded his head as he said,"Pichu." He grinned at the girl. Kairi then turned to Nox Umbra,"Hi I'm Kairi. Nice to meet you Nax....uh...Nat....Not..." She said getting his name wrong every time. She was having a little bit of trouble pernoving his name. It was a name that she wasn't too furmiller with.

"Nox, Kairi," the Professor said, smiling. "Don't worry, I had some trouble with it the first few times, too," she said with a small laugh.

"Sure thing, Nox," the Professor said, hurrying to a back room after placing the two packs on a table that was cluttered with some paperwork. Optimus sighed and shook his head, smiling. +She really does need to work on her organization,+ he said, following her into the room she had disappeared into. Shortly thereafter, she returned with three Pokeballs in her hands. "Here you go, Nox," she said, as she released all three.

The Shinx was the first one that completely materialized. It shook its little head and then began to run around in circles, chasing its tail. The Riolu was next, and it simply just sat there, looking at Nox with interest. Finally, the Absol was out, and it sat down and began to lick its paw, watching Nox out of the corner of its eye.

"That Pichu would be perfect for you, Kairi," Professor Hide said, clapping her hands together. "So, Kairi, are you going to follow in your mother's footsteps, or be a trainer?" the Professor asked Kairi, watching the energetic little Shinx run around in circles. The Shinx wasn't even that young, it just had a thing for chasing its tail, even though it was usually the younger Pokemon that stuck to doing that.

"Well I decided to get both Ribbons and Badges," Kairi answered. Pichu looked at her like she was crazy,"What?" She asked Pichu,"I can do it. Don't tell me your going to tell me that it's too much work as well. That's just what my mother told me."

Pichu just sighed and shook his head,"Pichuu." He couldn't understand Kairi at all. Why couldn't this human just make up her mind already. Pichu thought it would be better to just chase after one goal instead of two. That just meant more work for him.

While Kairi and her new Pichu discussed their career, Nox studied the three Pokemon before him carefully. They were all still good choices. Why was everything always so hard to choose? Well, Absol. Absol were fierce little wolves, with an air of power... the Absol before him looked very much like this, although Nox wasn't sure if it would be all to friendly.

The Shinx was a little childish. Agreeably, Luxray were incredible, but Nox was expecting a little more self control than the hyperactive thing was showing. On to the Riolu... it was the only one paying attention to the trainer-to-be, so perhaps Riolu was the friendliest Pokemon here. After all, they did evolve on happiness. So perhaps this Pokemon would be his choice. Yes, it seemed fair. "Professor, I'll take the Riolu, please." he announced.

Next he turned to Kairi. "Kairi..." he said, pronnouncing her name perfectly. "My name's pronnounced 'NOX'. N-O-X. Nox. With an 'O'. Also I was wanting someone to travel with. You know, lots of people do it. It would be fun. So, should I tag along?" he asked.

"Sure I'd like that Ux," She said calling him by a cool nickname,"So going with Riolu huh?" She asked. She reached down to touch Riolu on the head. The Riolu growled at Kairi,""Ok then." Kairi said. She pulled her hand away from Riolu. The Pokemon didn't seem to like her very much. Riolu growled at Kairi again as it walked over to it's new trainer and stood beside him.

Kairi picked up her Pokedex and five PokeBall,"Hey Ux. I heard we get a starter pack with our starter that comes with a lot of cool things in it. Kairi was excited. She couldn't wait to start on this journey. It would be extra fun since she was with someone. Pichu went and introduced himself to Riolu. Riolu attacked Pichu knocking him backwards,"Hey! Why did you do that to my Pichu for?!" Kairi screamed at Riolu. Riolu growled and turned away.

Pichu was mad,"Pichu! Pichu!" He said. He thundershocked Riolu. Riolu was mad. The two Pokemon then got into a fight,"Hey stop that you two!" Kairi screamed. She tried to stop the fight but was knocked backwards against the wall.

Nox, or Ux as was his new nickname, gasped and grabbed his new Pokemon. Riolu squealed in protest, paws flailing in attempt to finish the angry Pichu off. Nox sighed. Maybe Riolu would need some work after all... oh, well. "Riolu, I know we've just met and all, but why did you do that? It wasn't very nice. Apologise to poor Pichu." he told him, and his eyes pleaded as they bore into his. Nox was not surprised when the Aura Pokemon used telepathy to speak; after all, Riolu, Lucario and Psychic types were supposed to do this. +I was only trying to protect you! I guess there's nothing wrong with Pichu, I just don't like the feel of that trainer.+

Either way, Riolu apologised. Nox understood what the fox meant by 'feel' of the trainer- Kairi's aura. He could sense it too- perfectly normal. Perhaps his new Pokemon had a problem with female humans. He was about to continue his conversation with Riolu, but Professor Hide came along carrying a bunch of their items. "Play nicely, you two. Anyway, I have your starter items here. They're given to every new trainer along with their starter Pokemon. My number's registered on both Pokedex so if anything goes wrong, call me! Give your mother my regards, Kairi! Goodbye!" she called as they left. Riolu had settled deep in Nox's arms, eyes surveying the landsape for any sign of something which might hurt his trainer.

Nox and Kairi recieved their starters and items! They can continue to Route One!

Add more to the personalities if you want, and one Egg Move may be chosen for each starter. I already know which one I am choosing, Kairi may choose one that Pichus can lear frm here[/ul]. Just scroll down until you reach a table called 'Egg Moves' and select one from their.

"Thanks Professor. We'll be going now," Kairi said. She pocketed Pichu's PokeBall, grabbed her items and put them in her bag. She picked up Pichu as she followed Nox out of the lab,"So wanna go by the Mart before we start out? We need food for our Pokemon and ourselves. I got my camping gear in my bag."
