The Black Fox, or just Fox. On the rare occasion, Rallee.
Sex
Female.
Years since birth
Sixteen years.

Is she straight?
Darn right she is.
The Looks
Inali is probably as average-looking as a normal sixteen-year-old would look. She has nothing that is extraordinary or the slightest bit outstanding. At least, she doesn't think so.
Fox has medium-long black hair that always seems to have a shine to it. At one point in time, it used to be very short and dull-looking, but now it is long and sleek. Fox's bangs are completely grown out, and can fit easily behind her ears when she wants them to.
Since most of her time is spent in-doors, she is very white. She has never had a tan, and never received a sunburn. Not because she doesn't go outside, just because she usually only goes out when it isn't blazing hot out or when the clouds are covering up the sun.
No matter what season it is, she can usually be seen wearing a white-looking tank-top and short, sleek black shorts... indoors, at least. She prefers a cool setting indoors, which allows her to wear minimal clothing. When outside during the colder days, however, she usually slaps on some black jeans and a black leather jacket.
Fox has blue eyes, just like her father. Her nose is like that of her mother, and she gets the 'Oh! You look so much like your dad/mom!' a lot; about 50/50 for each. Her eyebrows are relatively short, but thick, and her eyelashes are quite short and barely noticeable. Fox only wears make-up on 'special' occasions.
The build of Fox is maybe a little above average. She has some muscle, but not enough to be gawked at, or even pointed out. Fox is quite lean, despite how much she eats sometimes. Her legs are her most powerful parts of her body that she uses, and that is quite clear by the way she runs and uses them otherwise.
Sometimes she can be seen with large headphones on. The school she had been going to gave up on trying to get her to take them off when she had them on; after all, she did do better working when she had a little music in the background. If she has them on during class, they are around her neck, a little quieter than normal, but enough for her to hear. In the hallways between classes, they are around her ears playing much louder so as to tune out the chatter around her. That is, when she had them with her and when she had them on.
Oh, and for Halloween (which she has never grown out of) she always wears the same thing, buying a bigger outfit if she outgrows the last. The first time she set her eyes on a small but largely-built Pokemon, she had adored it; a Munchlax. Now, every Halloween for as long as she could remember, she dresses up as a Munchlax.
For parties and the likes, she always has a variety of clothing, surprisingly. Fox will wear anything from a black goth-looking dress to a bright blue vibrant dress with frills on the bottom tip. As well as her many dresses and the likes, she has a single pair of shoes to go with each one.
And, for regular school days, she wears an assortment of T-Shirts, jeans, and shoes. It all depends on her mood, really. Most days it's just a plain T-Shirt with no particular meaning and a pair of tattered jeans that still look nice somehow.
The Traits
Inali, first off, would much rather you called her Fox. Her alias, however, to those who don't know her in person, is 'The Black Fox'. It is an interesting story on how she got that nickname, but... now is not the time for that. Fox prefers dog-type Pokemon, with a few exceptions. Such as Munchlax, the original three starters, Skorupi, and a few others.
At home, Fox's parents don't know about her ordeals, and always talk about 'The Black Fox' as if she weren't even there. Fox just smiles and nods, pretending she has no idea who 'The Black Fox' is. Of course, her few closest friends know who she is, and protect her identity with their lives. In fact, they are P.I.Cs a lot of the time.
Fox is quite popular at school, though she is quite choosy about her friends. Her obvious friends are those that 'work' with her and know her. Friends outside of that she is extremely cautious with; she has one definite friend other than her sure ones, and she trusts him with everything she does with the others. He is definitely not for what she does, but neither is he completely against it; after all, money is money, and a job is a job.
Most wherever she goes, Fox is known as a wild girl that is hard to tame, but completely harmless. She has a loud voice, could be a drama queen if she wanted to(she just sticks to drama plays), and her threats are always complete ludicrous. Well, almost always, anyway.
When someone pesters her about anything(the way she looks, dresses, talks, etc.), and continues to do so after she's either ignored them for a good long while or told them to shut the **** up a few times, she probably will get physical. Fox has never hurt anyone too bad that had pestered her, but it was enough to get a detention each time she did it.
Along with that issue, she rarely looses her temper. Most of the time she is a patient person, and easy-going when she isn't wound up. A lot of her friends wonder how she manages it; all of her friends lose their anger way too easily, and are more in the 'bad' crowd rather than the good. But, that's a trait of Fox; she can fit in anywhere if she tries hard enough to do so.
When Fox is sad, she is quite the opposite of how she usually is, or at least a lot different. She could care less about school, and often will skip to avoid the questions. She sits around and listens to music all day long, and talks to no one. Instead of being reserved, she can be quite violent; this is when she gets her 'detentions'. She will lose her temper more easily, lash out at those closest to her, and not even care. When she is like this, even her closest friends try to stay away from her until she's back to her old happy-go-lucky self.
Fox has a knack for rallying people as well. At battle tournaments for those who had Pokemon at her school, she would get the crowd cheering evenly for both participants. At basketball games and other sporting events she could get even the most un-enthusiastic of people to at least join in for half of a cheer. Hence, she got another nickname; Rallee, though it's rarely used.
Well, we all want to know how someone would react if someone came up to them and demanded their money, or tried to abduct them, right? Here's how Fox would handle it...
Since her job is sometimes more dangerous than a petty street criminal, she takes it easy, as long as nobody is around that might be able to put two and two together. First, she would ask if they were bluffing. If they chuckled and said no, she wouldn't be as hard, and then give them a nice kick where it hurts, or a good punch in the stomach. If they were serious and didn't even bat an eye, she would do something a... little more painful. Then she'd probably skip off before anyone saw what she had done.
Overall, Fox can be pretty easy to get along with. If you don't pester her about her too-large headphones she wears around sometimes, the way she dresses, and stay on here 'good' list, you shouldn't have any problems. Well, unless you are 'marked' by her boss... but that's besides the point.
Background Check
Inali Uday is an only child. She was supposed to have been a twin, but her brother didn't make it through the night. Both were equally sick, though; she was just the fighter of the two. Ever since she was young, she had been braving all injuries she received. She had a high pain tolerance, and didn't even bat an eye when she broke her leg for the first time after jumping off of the top of a slide in preschool.
When Inali got older, she found what her name meant; Fox. And her last name meant 'Fast', and that really suited her. She was quite agile for a girl her age, and could even smoke the males in her grade pretty easily. So, she went by Fox a lot more often, and nobody though anything of it; it's what her name means, it's what she likes, so let it be. They wouldn't have ever thought that she would be the infamous 'Black Fox' in the future; it was just a name, after all.
When she was in the lower Grade School, she began noticing things that had quite a bit of value to them; a diamond bracelet, some sapphire earrings, and even a few rocks that looked plain, but were actually much more than that. She stole her first item when she was in her second year of grade school. She hadn't thought it would be so easy, but it had happened so quickly, no one had noticed, and she even felt good about herself for it. It had been too easy; best of all, no one expected her to have done it.
As Fox got older, she got more into the stealing, and her actions did not go unnoticed. One of the professors, a part of the infamous Team Shadow, watched her carefully, and when she least expected it he was watching her quick movements, and saw most things of what she stole; quite impressive for such a young girl. He confronted her when she entered the second stage school when she was twelve years old.
------------------------------------------------
The Joining of Team Shadow.
Fox sat alone in the park, looking over her treasures she had just stolen from a wealthy family; pure diamond jewelry set consisting of earrings, a necklace, and a wrist watch studded with many small diamonds. A shadow suddenly loomed over her, and she turned around in surprise, having not heard the person approach. Fox quickly shoved the things into the bag and whirled around to see a fine-looking young man looking at her with interest. When she began to back up, he spoke.
"Wait a second, darling, I want to have a chat with you. It'll only take a few minutes," he said, his voice like velvet. Fox paused, and then stood her ground.
"I'm listening..." she said uneasily. She had no idea who this man was; he looked vaguely familiar, but she couldn't quite place who he was.
"I've noticed you're quite the sly thief," he said in a quiet voice.
"Me? A thief? Hah! You must be joking!" Fox said with quite a bit of confidence in her voice.
"Oh, yes. I've had reports from one of my members for the past few years about some of your escapades. He has a keen eye for people like you," the man said. Fox stood there, stunned. Someone knew she was stealing? Damn. That was definitely not good.
"Yeah, well, what's it to you whether I've been stealing things or not?" she asked, crossing her arms.
"Oh, it would mean a lot to me, actually. You see, I run a sort of... business, I guess you could call it. My business is, simply put, robbery. The employees get paid very well, more than any other job in this pesky little town. If you'd like to know more, call me." the man said as a small rectangular card slid from his sleeve. He handed it to Fox, and sauntered off towards a black van. That was an odd meeting, no doubt about that. Fox looked at the card; on the top in big, bold print was 'TEAM SHADOW'. Below it had a few numbers to call for certain occasions; delivery, reports, questions, and joining. There was a name under each one; normal ones, that is. Under the 'joining', however, was just 'THE BOSS'. Fox slipped the card into her bag and hurried home; a team a thieves sounded like a good place to start.
At home, she convinced her parents to go out of town and spend some time together since they spent so much time working and not enough time together. So, she had the house all to herself that evening; perfect for what she had planned. She had planned a decently long conversation, or so she hoped.
Fox dialed the number listed beside the 'joining' section on the card that the mysterious man had given her. They had exchanged few words, and not even spoken their names to each other. Perhaps that was a good thing, though; if she decided to not join 'Team Shadow' or whatever this thing was, and the man thought she would let the local police officers know about them, she would probably end up in the bottom of the river, IF this was as serious as the man made it sound. It rang twice before the voice she clearly remembered from earlier that day answered.
"Hello, you have reached Sham's Treasures. How many I help you?" he said.
"I was given a business card by you earlier-" but she didn't finish her sentence as she was quickly shushed.
"Please press the pound key at this time," he said, a perfect attempt at a robotic voice. There was a beep on the other end, and Fox hesitantly did the same.
"Alright, we are on a secure line, now. You are the girl from the park, then?" the man asked, his voice losing its velvet-like sound as he sounded more serious.
"Yes, that is me," Fox replied.
"So, you are interested in joining Team Shadow then, I presume? Or you wouldn't be calling now. Don't answer that; it was rhetorical. First, I need your full real name, and then any nicknames you may have that the public knows about," the man said.
"Inira Uday, most people call me Fox," she said.
"Mhmm... any particular reason to that?" the man asked.
"It's what my first name means, and I rather like it, to be honest. It's better than hearing 'Iniria' all day long in my opinion," she said.
"Right, right. Parent or legal guardian names and any siblings," he said.
"My mom's name is Sasha Uday, and my father is Don Uday. I don't have any siblings," Fox said. This was odd; what was with the questions about her family?
"Alright, Fox, thank you. Now, if you don't mind, would you mind a small meeting at the park?" the man asked.
"Uh... sure," Fox said uneasily.
"Great. It's been nice getting to know you, Fox. I'll bring a couple of my friends along so you can get to know some of the family," the man said, and hung up. Well, that was much shorter than she had hoped. She quickly emptied her thievery bag's contents underneath her floorboards in her room and headed out. She would need to either start finding new hiding places for her treasures, or go out more often to sell her things on the black market. For being only twelve, she sure knew her way around the dark side of things.
Fox made her way to the park, unsure of what to expect. She made herself comfortable on one of the benches; it was completely deserted at this time of night. The park usually closed at eleven at night, and it was ten-thirty. A low rumbling brought her attention to the road as the same black suburban pulled up that the mysterious man had left in earlier that day. The two front doors opened, and one of the people who got out opened the side door, and the same figure stepped out, though at night it made him look even more mysterious. All three figures were wearing all black, though the one in charge was wearing a nice suit and the other two were wearing black tights and long-sleeved underarmor with medium-long black pants and a black shirt with a barely visible 'S' emblem on it.
"Ah, there's the young wondergirl," said the one to the right of the Boss.
"If Boss says she's good, she's good. We always need young recruits that are innocent-looking," said the other. All three approached the bench casually, Boss sitting next to her, and the other two sitting on the bench behind them.
"So, simple question. Do you want to join Team Shadow? Yes or no." he said.
"Yes," Fox replied automatically.
"Good, I knew that would be the answer, but the other two needed to hear it from someone other than me. Now, how good are you at telling fakes from the real thing?" the Boss asked, pulling something from his pocket.
"Uh... OK, I guess. I've never stolen anything fake and kept it, anyways. I learned to tell from a tutor at the blackmarket," she said.
"Good, then, tell me; which of these is real?" he asked, setting two large diamonds next to each other. Fox carefully picked them up, examining them in what light there was.
"Neither are real; they're both fake," she said. There were some murmurs behind them as the two others commented inaudibly on that.
"Very good. Nobody has ever been able to tell that first thing when they joined. Alright, then. Jason, Carly, what do you think?" the Boss asked.
"Definite addition. Probably better than most of the rest of us," the female said.
"Yes. She will move through the ranks easily, I'll assume," said the male in agreement.
"Fox, welcome to Team Shadow," the Boss said, snapping his fingers. A long, slender black box appeared in the lap of the Boss, and he handed it to Fox.
"Thank you," she said, taking it, unsure of what it was.
"Those are your clothes and anything else you'll need. Do not open it until you are in a more secure location," he said, rising. Carly and Jacob did the same, and followed him.
"I look forward to working with you," Jacob said, giving her a wink in the moonlight. All three silently disappeared into the suburban and drove off, the only sound being the tires on the gravel. That night would be very memorable.
------------------------------------------------
Her first assignment.
For the first week, no contact was made between Fox and Team Shadow. She was anxious, and her parents knew it. They didn't say anything the first few days, but they eventually asked her about it.
"Honey, why are you so... anxious lately?" her mother asked her at breakfast on a Saturday morning.
"I'm supposed to be hearing word from a person that's likely to employ me in a special job that pays well," Fox replied immediately, as if she knew the question would come up. One of the things in the information booklet she had received had said that it was a secret job and she was not to talk of it. If her parents had any questions, they should call Jacob or Carly Rateer, who worked with the government. Her mother and father exchanged glances, and a few more questions were inevitable.
"When did you know you might get employed?" her father asked.
"And what kind of job?" her mother asked.
"I can't talk about it, really. It's sort of private... I'm not allowed to talk about it. If you have any questions, though, you can call Jacob or Carly Rateer," Fox said, handing the card with their number and where they worked to her mother.
"Oh! Jacob is such a lovely man! He has some good connections. It would be great if you worked with him," his mother said, looking the card over.
"How much would you, uh... get paid?" her father asked, finishing the rest of his omelet he had made.
"Don't know. It depends... though, we could probably get a new house in a year or so from what I've heard," Fox said, shrugging as she sthingyed her cereal. Her mother and father didn't pester her after that; after all, Jacob was a good kid, as far as they knew. A job that paid that much would definitely be good; but for their young daughter? One would always wonder, but not question the working of the government. Perhaps it was being a spy or something? Well, anything that made their daughter happy would be good, and if it benefited them... that was just a bonus.
After breakfast, each went their separate ways. Sasha off on a 3-day business trip, Don out of town, and Fox downstairs to her room. After about an hour of laying there and staring up at the ceiling, not shifting her position, her phone rang. Having spaced off, she wondered who it could be. She reluctantly answered it after dragging herself off of her bed.
"Hello?" she asked with a quite bored-sounding tone. A chuckle on the other end made her realize who it was.
"Fox, what happened? Did you die of boredom of something?" the familiar male voice said.
"No, but I was close," she said. Already, she felt a small bond with Jacob. Almost as if they had known each other for a while.
"Well, here's your first big assignment. Boss wanted it to be assigned specifically to you. There's a new family in town that he's heard of. They own something that he thinks would be quite valuable. The father of the family is a jeweler, and has quite a few things that would be worth a pretty penny. However, there is a one-of-a-kind stone that Boss wants that he keeps hidden. Do you have any experiences with safes?" Jacob asked.
"Alright... uh, a little. I mean, I can crack a safe by listening to it most of the time if I try hard enough," she said uneasily.
"Ah, good. This is an easy three-combination safe from what information Boss has gathered about it. You should have no problem. In thirty minutes, the father is leaving for an interview, the mother is out of town for a week, and the kids are at a battle tournament for the evening and likely won't be home until at the least... after eleven. You should be good to go, though, there is a present waiting for you in your mailbox that you will use for your missions only. A warning though; try not to get too attached to it," he said.
"Yeah, alright. Thanks, Jacob," she said as she got her outfit out from under her mattress.
"You should be good to go in about forty-five minutes. Good luck; there will be more information in your mailbox," Jacob said, then hung up with a quiet click. Already her first assignment? This would get some of her anxiety out of her, that was for sure. An engine barely audible outside caught her attention as it pulled out of the driveway. Fox bounded up the stairs and opened the screen door and ran to the mailbox. She gasped when she saw what was inside. Inside was a single piece of folded paper, and a Pokeball. She pocketed the paper and held the Pokeball close to her; if anyone saw her with it, they'd be wondering. Of course, she could say it was related to her secret job, but... that would be kind of iffy. Living a life of secrecy would be fun, but challenging. As soon as she was inside, she released the Pokemon, and stepped back to examine her Pokemon. The Pokemon took one look at her, and implanted itself on her carpet, watching her curiously.
+Well, you just going to stand there looking at me? Don't we have a job to do?+
"Uh... we uhm... have some, uh... time..." Fox said uneasily. The Absol began absent-mindedly licking its paw, the voice now recognizably feminine.
+Time? There's never enough time for anything. Of course, you probably wouldn't know that. Joy. Another master that's oblivious...+ she said with a sigh.
"Whatever... This should be just joyful. How the hell can I get attached to a smart-mouthed Absol?" Fox mumbled to herself as she retreated downstairs. The Absol followed slowly, not looking the slightest bit enthusiastic about this.
+Where is your family? You look too young to be living alone,+ the Absol said, still watching Fox closely and memorizing her features.
"My parents work out of town a lot, and I have no siblings, so I'm home alone a lot. I suppose that will help this job, if that's what you call it," Fox said, walking swiftly down the stairs without a sound.
+Oh, what a pity. It's always fun to have at least a younger person around that is less-knowing to boss around. Like you,+ the Absol said. Fox didn't comment on that, but rather slipped on her Team Shadow clothing; it was fifteen 'till nine. She would have a good while to find the house, find any possible entrances, break in, and find the safe. She took out the piece of paper she had stuffed in her pocket and sat down on her bed, ignoring the stare from the Absol.
+You sure don't seem the talkative type,+ the Absol said.
"Yeah, well, you're smarter than me, so it's pointless even trying to say a word because you'll likely interrupt to make a snide comment. Besides, I find talking to a Pokemon like this... very odd," Fox said, not looking up.
+Oh, really? Haven't you had any other Pokemon?+ the Absol asked. Fox merely shook her head for a no answer. The Absol sighed, and lay down, making herself comfortable on the fluffy carpet in her room.
"Well, we can go ahead and head out, if it's OK with you," Fox said to the Absol.
+Thought you'd never ask. Of course it's OK to go. Follow me; I already know the target thanks to Jacob,+ the Absol said. She heaved herself up and sprang up the stairs with an amazing speed. Well, this would be joyous. A defiant Absol; just what she'd always wanted. Fox sighed and quickly slipped on her Team Shadow uniform for the first time. She opened their back door, and the Absol was off at the same amazing speed. Fox had to run to keep up, but she didn't mind; running actually felt good at this point. Within five minutes, they were across town, not having been detected by a single being. The Absol stopped across the street from a very nice-looking house; one that Fox hadn't thought to try and rob yet.
"You have a good sense of direction," Fox said. The Absol gave a snort of contempt and turned her eyes to the house, watching as a man exited the door and entered his vibrant-colored vehicle.
+A little early. Good sign. As soon as he is down the street, we'll go in the second story back window,+ the Absol said.
"How do you know all of this? Are you always such a know-it-all, or do you get so bored with yourself you memorize things?" Fox asked. The Absol ignored her, and watched the vehicle pull out and drive down the street. The Absol was across the street in a heartbeat, sprinting for the back. Fox did the same, though quite a bit slower.
+I'll give you one thing; you're a bit quicker and light-footed than the other bozo's I've worked with,+ the Absol said.
"Er... thanks, I think," Fox said.
+You've obviously had at least some experience. So, tell me about yourself. Jacob didn't know a whole lot about you, so he didn't say anything,+ the Absol said, as she swished her head, producing a small glob of black that somehow silently made impact with the windows glass and broke through.
"Well... I'm twelve, if that helps any. I've been a petty thief since I was around six or so, and keep a nice income that I've been stashing away in the floorboards fo my room that my parents haven't found. I've never had any siblings, and never really thought of becoming a Pokemon trainer or anything of the sort," Fox said.
+Twelve? Wow. It gets better and better...+ the Absol said with a chuckle as she leaped from her spot to the slanting roof, then onto the balcony of the second floor.
"I didn't expect anything this serious to come about. I mean, I know there's a black market and all, as I go there every weekend if I get a good heist off, but I didn't think there'd be a... team of thieves like this," Fox said, following the Absol. In one fluid movement, she jumped up and barely grasped the edge of the gutter before she swung herself up and over, the only sound being the gutter groaning from the weight.
+Well, you better believe it now. Because you're part of one. By my judging, which has never failed, you'll be a top member of Team Shadow in no time,+ the Absol said, leaping through the small hole in the window without setting another piece of broken glass out of place. Fox, being a bit bigger than the Absol, opened the window instead and stepped through.
"Why does everybody think that?" she mumbled to herself, wondering which way the Absol had gone. A small thud from the room to her right got her attention and she made her way there, finding the Absol dragging open a hidden door that revealed a hidden safe.
+Seriously... they really need to get more hi-tech. At least add some hidden cams. There isn't a source of electricity in here whatsoever, excluding the light switches,+ she said, standing back so that Fox could work her magic. +I'll be on the lookout in case any unexpected visitors come here. I'll be back in fifteen minutes. Come find me if you finish before, or if I don't return by then. I might have dozed off,+ the Absol said, as she disappeared.
"Doesn't like to stick around one place too long, does she?" Fox said to herself, as she kneeled down by the safe and began her work.
The first two digits were easy enough; 5 and 28. The third one was a little tougher, though. It almost seemed as if it made clicks on both 2 and 15. She redid the combination, and hesitated on the 2, then proceeded to the 15, knowing that usually the higher numbers were used as the last number with these kinds of safes. Luckily, she was right, and it opened easily. She stared inside at the odd stone before it. It was pulsating either a very dark gray or a black, and a fog seemed to hover around it. It was inside a clear case. Fox blew a bit around it, making sure there were no hidden detectors; none. Hmm... odd. Perhaps this man relied only on safes.
+Let's go, let's go. Pack it up, let's go! We got some company coming down the street,+ the Absol said. The sudden voice of her made Fox jump slightly, but she quickly took the case the stone was in and tucked it under her arm, shutting the safe and the door before heading out.
Down the street, two boys were grumbling to each other about the dumb rules and being kicked out.
"Well, at least we know not to try to sell our own food there next time," the taller, dark-haired one said. The slightly shorter one nodded. An Absol bounded across the street in front of them, and they watched it curiously, completely oblivious to the slinking human figure moving silently across the road behind them.
"What do you make of that?" the shorter one asked.
"Bad luck, that's what. It's what dad always says; if an Absol crosses your path, you or the people around you will have bad luck," the taller one said. Both exchanged glances, and quickly went the rest of the way home. Little did they know exactly how much bad luck it would be that they would endure, or their father would anyway.
"That was much easier than I thought it would be," Fox said, back at home, both her and the Absol looking at the strange stone with curiosity.
+You made it easy, Fox. You definitely surprised me, and I underestimated you. It was a pleasure working with you, that much is for sure. Though, I'll have to return to the dull lab where they keep the Pokemon assigned to help the members. For being part of an organization that is not in tune with the law in the slightest bit, the lab is actually quite nice, if you'd call where we hang a lab,+ the Absol said.
"Well, it was good working with you, too. Though, what is it like at the lab? And, how many other members of Team Shadow are there?" Fox asked. The Absol licked her paw a few times, then lowered it and yawned.
+It's more like an inside outside. One of those environment things. There's a little bit of everything. Forest, woods, mountainous terrain, desert, snow, and anything else you can think of. There are different Pokemon for each occasion, and even the Pokemon that don't work for Team Shadow, but are rather the member's personal Pokemon stay there. It's quite nice, really. The Boss knows that keeping all of us happy is the key to most success. That's a rare thing in most leaders of his kind from what I hear,+ she said, laying down on the carpet. Wow. The Boss actually wanted the Pokemon to feel good? That was rare. She had heard that most outlaws could care less for their Pokemon, and in turn they didn't care for their trainers and only fought to keep their dignity. A vibration in her pocket drew her away from her thoughts. The Absol opened one eye and watched as Fox answered her phone.
"Hey, Jake. First mission's a success," she said.
"Ah, good, good. The Boss will be very pleased to hear that," Jacob replied. "I'll be on my way over in a bit to pick up the item and the Absol. Hope you didn't get too attached to her... somehow. Most of us hate her because of her attitude," Jacob said with a chuckle.
"Oh, she isn't bad at all. It was having someone to talk to during the heist, for once. I'm definitely looking forward to future heists," Fox said eagerly.
"Well, now there's a first. Usually all I hear are negative things about how she wouldn't listen or anything. Question for you... can you understand her?" he asked. Fox stared blankly at the wall for a moment before answering.
"Uh... yeah. Why?" she asked.
"Odd. Most people can't understand Pokemon. Now, tell me... can you actually understand her words, or is it just like her eyes say it all?" he asked. Fox was puzzled at the question, but answered as best she could.
"It's just like me and you are talking right now," she said. A pause on Jacob's end.
"Extraordinary... well, thanks. I'll be over in ten," he said, and hung up. Fox turned to the Absol, who had raised her head and had a smug smile on her face.
"So, the reason why most don't get along with you is because they can't understand you?" Fox asked.
+Is it really that obvious? It's nice to meet someone that can actually understand what I'm saying, for once. Jacob and The Boss, and sometimes Carly can understand me, but the rest... well, you get the point,+ the Absol said.
"Does that mean I will understand other Pokemon, too?" Fox asked, wondering if she could only understand Absol, or if it was all Pokemon.
+If you can understand one Pokemon, you can usually understand all of us. Unless, it's just certain types you can understand. Well, you'll find out, I guess. Good night, enjoy yourself while you can,+ the Absol said, as she nudged the Pokeball at Fox's belt and returned herself. It was an awkward silence after that, and left Fox wondering; what made her one of the lucky few to understand Pokemon? An engine from outside made her remember that she needed to return the Absol and deliver the stone. She took the case and draped a black cloth over it, took the Pokeball from her belt, and headed upstairs. First mission successful, and she learned something about herself, too. What a day... or night, more like it.
------------------------------------------------
Everything up until now.
Everything was quite easy for Fox after her first assignment. She got to know Jacob and Carly quite well, though The Boss remained mysterious to her. Nobody knew his real name, though he had many fake names he used if he every did a job he deemed too dangerous for any of the members, though he became to trust Fox more and more, and entrusted her with jobs he wouldn't even assign Jacob or Carly when Fox was just fourteen. A few people had caught sight of her, as her Boss had suggested she do, and they called her The Black Fox, because she was so quick you could only get a glimpse of her before she was gone. As predicted by the Absol and many other non-oblivious members of Team Shadow, she quickly became the number one person and was respected by everyone, including the much older-aged people and senior members of Team Shadow. In her time, she worked with the Absol she came to know and like many times. Along with her, she worked with a Drapion, Skuntank, Mightyena, Houndoom, Honchkrow, and Gengar. Her favorite of all of them would be the Absol, though.
However, the jobs became too easy for Fox. She wanted more challenges, more dangerous things to do. Her income was quite high, of course, and she continued to do her local burglary. She had become well-known at the black market she went to, and as she had said, her parents had bought a new house within half a year with just the money she had earned from her job; she still had the hidden money in her room's floorboards; the only floorboards in her room were under her bed, and they were beginning to look plainly 'bloated', so she decided to donate some of it to charity as anonymous. She kept the rest, and when they moved she deposited it into her parent's bank accounts. That was quite the surprise for them, needless to say. Though, Fox completely denied it had been her doing. She was sweet sixteen now, and she felt quite bored where she lived now. Even her classmates whom she'd recruited for Team Shadow knew that she wouldn't last long and would likely pull something stupid like try to rob the museum in broad daylight, so one day one of the smarter ones thought up of an idea.
"You know, Fox... how about you move out of the country? There are plenty of other regions you could go to, if you wanted you know," he said. Michael was the brains of the Team Shadow operations most of the time, and always had a solution.
"You know, that's not a bad idea... and it wouldn't be too hard, since I have enough money probably to make a trip around the world," she said, bobbing her head slightly to the music emitting from the headphones around her neck during a particularly boring session of class. Well, everything was boring about Geometry, so it was nothing new. The teacher at the front of the class sighed and turned his gaze to her.
"Miss Uday, will you at least turn that down a little? It's very distracting for the rest of us," he said.
"Sure thing, homie dub," she said, turning the volume down a little more so that only Michael and Natasha could hear it; the two people next to her that rather enjoyed it. A few snickers came from around the class at the 'homie dub'. It never got old, really; Mr. Wascht was nicknamed 'homie dub' by Fox when she was randomly thinking up of nicknames for the teachers, and it stuck. He knew it, of course, and he didn't mind it too much; he went back to talking about how to find the areas of two triangles put together. All very elementary, and most of the class never paid any attention anyway because it was Geometry, and even less paid attention now because this was old review. They had learned it at least a couple years ago, and it had stuck with them.
"I'm so jealous of you! I don't know how you manage to store all of your stash at your place and your parents not notice it. Plus, you could go on a luxury cruise around the world- I'd die for that! I'd take Michael's advice, though. Give a heads up to The Boss though, before you go. You're kind of like his favorite pet, you know," Natasha said, flinging her hair over her shoulder as it fell out of place.
"But, I'd miss all of you. And my parents, too. Well... look at how small our class is, though. We only have seven people in this class, and fifteen in the entire grade. Many people have already went on their journeys as a Pokemon trainer," she said, completely shutting off her music.
"Well, we're smarter, though. They don't know the square root of Pi, or what Pi even is. When it's a matter of mathematics or English or something, I don't think brute force will decipher a riddle or an equation that would save someone's life," Michael said. Fox nodded in agreement.
"But, I've had enough of this life. I want to start anew; besides, there has to be other teams in the other regions anyway. I could make new friends, rank my way up from the bottom again! It would be like starting anew at an old age," she said, staring off blankly as she daydreamed of a far-off unknown region.
"Earth to Foxy! Hello, come in Fox, hello!" Michael said rather loudly, making Mr. Wascht pause, but continue, as Fox came back to reality.
"I'll be gone by tomorrow," she said. Michael and Natasha both gasped.
"But, you're so close to graduating! You have one month left! You skipped a year in school! And now you're just going to throw it away?" Natasha exclaimed.
"If you are going to talk, at least try not the shriek, Miss Hosea," the teacher said with a sigh.
"Sorry, homie dub," she said, rolling her eyes, as the rest of the class snickered again.
"Well, now that the suggestion came up, I can't wait... but, I suppose I will. I'll just take my time browsing for the fastest-traveling luxury cruise that would go the farthest away and be medium-priced for its distance," Fox said, shrugging as she turned her music on again.
"Well, let's get our last good laughs in, then. It'll be boring in the real world without you," Michael said, his blue eyes definitely showing he told the truth. He had never said anything, but he had always liked Inali Uday. Too many times he had been too shy to ask her out on a date; what if she thought he was crazy then?
"Oh, Mikey, don't worry. I'll call you every day and tell you where I am," Fox said in a babyish tone of voice with a hint of sarcasm.
"I'm so reassured now. Thank you, Foxy," Mike said, rolling his eyes. The rest of the class they actually tried to pay attention, but to no avail. Geometry really was hard to pay attention in... Michael and Natasha both fell asleep, while Fox drifted off into her own world as she thought about the possibilities in another region. It would be a new place, and it would take longer to get used to, longer to get accustomed to its traditions and to see if she'd be as good there as she was here.
After her graduation party, she finally told her parents the news.
"Don, Sasha- I have something to tell you," she began on the way home, not happy with sitting in the back seat as a passenger. She'd much rather have driven, but she was a tad too tired, and her parents didn't want her to die first thing after she graduated in a car wreck.
"Are you pregnant?" her father immediately asked.
"Oh! Who's the father?" her mother chimed in.
"No, no! I'm not pregnant, sheesh! What made you think that? ... Don't answer that. I'm moving on in life. I'm going to start, better late than never, as a Pokemon trainer," she announced.
"Well, that's wonderful! Professor Sanchez would be delighted to help you here!" her mother said brightly.
"Actually, mom, I was thinking of going to a different region. I know this place all too well. I've been almost everywhere on field trips and such for school, and that takes away the fun of 'discovering new places'. I want to experience completely new things," she said. Both her parents were silent for a while before her father responded.
"Well, that's a good thing, then. You're finally matured... or, at least finally spoke your matured mind," he said.
"I'm leaving tomorrow. I already have a place on a cruise ship booked and everything," she said.
"Why didn't you tell us sooner?" her mother complained.
"I didn't want you to worry about me more and sooner than need be, and I didn't want you to try to get me to change my mind," Fox said. Her mother sighed, and that was the end of that. She was free to go to wherever the ship took her, and she would start out there.
First thing in the morning, Fox packed up her Team Shadow uniform and put it in the mailbox. Jacob would pick it up... he was really going to miss her as well. Everybody that was a member of Team Shadow was sorely going to miss her. After all, she was the best member, and perhaps even better than The Boss himself. Last night had been the first time in a long time that she had spoken to him, and perhaps the last. He had said he'd wish she'd stay, but respected her choice. After all, it was a free world, and he realized that she was getting a little bored since, after all, she had been to every place possible here. It was then that he had revealed his real name.
"Remember Toshio Blanchevsk," he had said, and those were the last words as the elevator door closed.
On the ship, she gazed out over the docks at the many people below. Friends were hugging each other as the 'lucky one' went to enjoy a month-long cruise likely provided as a graduation gift. She knew a few of the people; she went to school with them, but never talked to them, though there were few that she even went to school with. She retreated to her cabin, and lay there, nearly asleep until the horn sounded. She had promised herself she wouldn't miss the un-docking and raced out through the mass of people on the ship to an open rail, and watched as a lot of people waved the temporary good-byes to their loved ones and friends. In the crowd, she spotted Jacob and the Absol she had grown to love. Beside him was Michael, and both had huge grins on their faces as they gave the traditional salute to Team Shadow members; it was to never be used in public, but with all the people, she was sure nobody noticed. She saluted back, and then turned her look the other way; to the open ocean.
"New region, here I come!" she exclaimed under her breath, enjoying the cool breeze that she felt ruffling her hair and cooling her hot skin. She found a shady place that was untaken, and sat down with a chair she had decided to claim as her own. She vowed not to steal anything on this boat; she would completely start anew in the new region she happened to end up in. She put her headphones on and began listening to her favorite CD.
Indeed... new region, prepare to meet the infamous Black Fox!

External Information
As she has gotten older, Fox has really decided not to wear the big headphones as often. She has made them water-proof, so that she can even listen to music in the rain. Her favorite genre of music is techno, and she likes depressing-sounding music and action-packed-sounding music. Don't ask how those two go together.
She really wants an Absol, Drapion, Houndoom, Skuntank, Mightyena, and Gengar. If she could choose any Pokemon for a starter, it would be an Absol most likely. And, with her luck, it would have the same attitude as the one she knew so well.

Pathway of Life
Definitely a trainer. She also hopes to become a member of Team Vex as soon as possible.
