Yeah, I know what you're thinking. Why is a boy writing a diary? Well, let me tell you. If I'm going to be the Pokemon Master, they'll need something to go by in History classes 1000 years from now. So this is not a diary, it's a manly record of the story of the Pokemon Master of Sinjoenn... all right?

Today I travelled from that prison of an orphanage to the Laboratory in Evergreen Town. I have been looking forward to getting a Pokemon for a while now, so this was a big moment. When I entered, the Professor was talking with this very strangely coloured Lucario. I was going to ask to see a Shinx and Absol, but seeing that Lucario, Optimus, made me ask to see a Riolu as well. I chose him, and am glad. He is very protective, and I have descided to call him Lux.
When I was turning to leave, I met a fellow rookie and her new Pichu. He and Lux don't get on very well... in fact, the two had a fight. I broke it up, then somehow made friends with Pichu's trainer and ended up agreeing to go travelling with her. Her name's Kairi Hill, and she wants to be a Coordinator. On our way out we past a shop; Kairi was told she had won a prize from a contest she had entered earlier. The prize turned out to be a Happiny, now named Happy. In the shop Kairi bought a fishing rod. I wasn't going to buy anything, then an intelligent-looking Shinx looked into my eyes and I couldn't resist. Her name's Dekora.
