Sulteron and her four Pokemon were walking in the thawing snow. It was about an inch or so deep, softly cushioning her footfalls as she walked briskly through the cold. They were enjoying themselves. With all the Pokemon out, they were in a good mood, chatting, laughing and playing. She couldn't say that for the Water Pokemon living in the river; it was frozen over. She could see some Pokemon trapped under the ice, but others had swum downstrean and escaped where the ice ended.
Minari the shiny Starly was hitching a ride on Sulteron's head. He occasionaly fluttered down to take part in one of their games, but mostly remained in between his trainer's warm ears. Fairo managed to get him down by commenting on how he was the only lazy one, being to only one not walking. From then on, he spread his wings and beat them level with Sulteon's elbow.
Fiela the mutant Espeon sometimes flew up to join Minari and they would fly up together, laughing at the look on the faces of the earthbound Pokemon. She was starting to notice that Fiaro was becoming jealous of Minari, as if his friendship with her bothered him. She couldn't see why it should make him frustrated to see her enjoying herself with another Pokemon. She tossed her silver fur and her blue jewel glowed in happiness as she walked along the river.
Zen the party-colored Dratini was snaking her way along the river's edge. She felt a pang of jelousy every time she thought about Minari and Fiela flying, but she just reminded herself that when she evolved, she would be able to fly, although she would evolve long after everyone else, unless Sulteron used her Mega Candy on her when she was a Dragonair. Then not only would she be able to rule the skies, but the water as well. Speaking of water, she wanted to splash about in the river. ~Fairo, could you melt some of the ice on the river? I could swim, and some of the poor Pokemon are trapped in there.~
Fairo the shiny Charmander nodded. It would be good to let the Pokemon out, and Fiela might be impressed... He shook himself to his senses. He carefully walked over to the edge and slowly lowered his tail onto the ice, shivering at the cold touch. The flame at the end raced along the edge, melting the ice. Soon the river was unfrozen for about ten metres in both directions to about halfay across. Zen slithered in, giggling at the cool refreshing touch of the water. She didn't seem to mind that Pokemon in bad moods from being cooped up underwater for so long would soon be appearing.

ooc:// Sorry.. I would've replied like, much earlier today but the internet stopped working when I had a decent reply typed out and I just gave up =/
ic:// Wide, frightened eyes watched the Pokemon and their trainer above the ice. It tried pounding on the ice, but it didn't so much as make a sound. It was weak from spending quite some time under the ice in the freezing cold water. There was a thick wall of ice that separated it and its freedom downstream, meaning it had been trapped under the ice for however long it had been frozen.
It watched with some relief as the oddly-colored Charmander stuck its tail near the ice, melting it on the side that the trapped orange otter-like Pokemon was in. It raced for the opening, narrowly avoiding the odd Dratini that it took hardly any note of and flew out of the opening, landing on the shore of the river.
Now, being a water-type is great; as a fish you live there and learn to adjust to water temperatures and so on. However, as a water-type that doesn't live in the water, they can't spend more than a day underwater. Besides; they have to eat, and they don't eat what Magikarp eat exactly. This Pokemon had been deprived of being out of water for at least two days by how the ice looked.
The otter-like Pokemon lay panting and shivering on the shore, not noticing that it was a few feet away from the Charmander, and unaware of Sulteron. It was just happy to be out of the ice-cold water, finally. But, being in the ice-cold water for that long had caused some damage; as well as it felt, it couldn't control its shivering, and it couldn't feel most of its body, either.
Wild Buizel appeared! And it doesn't look too good, either.

Sulteron gasped. "Oh, my goodness." she murmered. She knew plenty about Pokemon health care from experiance. From what she could see, the Buizel had developed hypothermia due to the ice, was in desperate need of food and progressing to the critical stages of the illness. An hour or so more under the ice would have killed it. She shouted to her Pokemon to come and help as she ran to the Water type's side.
"Don't worry, Buizel. You're safe now." she said soothingly as her Pokemon gathered around her side, anxious expressions on their faces. She looked up. She hated to order them around, but this Pokemon's life could depend on it. They needed to work together. "Fairo, warm Buizel with you tail and Ember, but do it gradually. We don't want it to get chillblains. Fiela, help warm it too. Comfort it, share body heat, make sure it's in a position that it isn't in pain. Zen, Minari, get my backpack and help me when I tell you." she said.
Fairo first warmed his and Fiela's bodies with an Ember. They huddled up to Buizel's shaking body, over the top of the blanket Sulteron tucked over it at first, then underneath. Fairo eventually pulled his tail in, and after a while began blowing the occasional spark of flame onto Buizel's shuddering chest. Sulteron, Zen and Minari forced food down Buizel's throat, and wrapped bandages around it's wounds. They worked, watching to see how Buizel would progress.

The Buizel thought about trying to fight back, but it knew that in its state it wouldn't stand a chance, and easily be beaten. So, however much it hated the attention it was receiving, it put up with it. Though it knew without the help it likely would not have survived, surely it wasn't that big of a deal...?
The Buizel opened one eye and looked up at Sulteron. Its eye showed no fear, but it wasn't the most welcoming gaze either. It held Sulteron's gaze for a while before closing it again. It gave a slight flinch at the sudden warmth, but soon got used to it and relaxed a little bit, its shivering going down a little bit.
Continuing to shiver quite a bit, the Buizel drifted in and out of a restless doze. When it felt the food being forced down its throat, it tried protesting, but to no avail. Sure, it was hungry, but it didn't need to be force feeded.
After they had done everything, the Buizel settled down for a nice doze, curling up with its tail tip touching its nose. If it got better and had the chance to escape, it would. Trainers were not its favorite thing anymore... at least, not after the force-feeding thing. The shivering had ben reduced to shudders ever other few seconds or so, and its breathing slowed down as it rested comfortably.

Sulteron sighed in relief. The Buizel's condition seemed stable. She knew that if it had fallen asleep in the freezing cold, it would have never woken up. Now, it had eaten and warmed up, samwhiched between the two warm bodies of Fiaro and Fiela. Falling asleep now seemed a good thing for it. As her father had always said, 'sleep is the best medicine'.
She could tell Buizel did not like some of the things she was doing, but she had to do them or Buizel would... not make it. She spoke to the water weasel again. "Buizel, I think you're getting better. While you sleep we'll protect you from anything that might attack while you're still weak, then you should be well enough to continue you're life as if we never existed." she smiled. Minari fluttered down, landing on her head, Zen coiled herself loosely around her trainer's neck, and Fairo and Fiela looked up, but knew it wasn't their turn to fight yet.

The Buizel ignored what Sulteron had said, not wanting to talk or do much of anything for that matter for a while. However, there were some eyes and ears that were listening in. Ironically, the eyes and ears listening weren't a great friend of that particular Buizel. Another pair of eyes appeared next to it; two pairs of chocolate brown eyes.
Across the river, two forms appeared out of the trees. They walked step for step in unison towards the water and then lowered their heads in a menacing way, apparently not the friendliest of greetings. Both deer-like Pokemon then took a huge bound, landing about 3/4 of the way across the river, and quickly wading the rest of the way. Both seemed very fit, very energetic, and very angry. +Bad decision to help the scumbag,+
said the one on the right, sounding like a male. +You should've left him to die or fend for himself. It was his own fault for getting stuck under there. All of us were doing just fine without him around,+ the on on the left said, sounding female. At the sound of more voices, the Buizel opened its eyes. It looked the two Stantlers over and gradually stood up, the shivering down even more now. It glared at the two wild Pokemon, looking even more menacing with the bandages wrapped around it and its eyes ablaze with hatred. Two Wild Stantler Appeared!

Since it was obvious Buizel should not fight in a condition such as this one, Sulteron wanted to stop it. But it seemed to want to fight. Maybe she shouldn't be harsh. "Buizel, you're very weak right now. I wouldn't fight if I were you, but if you want to Zen and Fiela will cover any weak points. If it starts to go in a bad way, I have potions that will help us." Upon hearing their names, the Dratini and Espeon stood up. Fairo, no longer needing to warm Buizel, and Minari stood to watch at Sulteron's feet. To prove they would help, Fiela used Helping Hand to bond the three in the battle.
Looking at Buizel, Fiela and Zen moved closer. ~Our trainer has an odd way of communicating in battle. See her tail, ears and jewel? She's part-Espeon.~ Fiela said, swishing her own tail. Zen finished the explanation. ~She uses telepathy. For the element of surprise, and it makes the trainer and Pokemon work as one. In a double battle, I suppose it must help the teamwork of the Pokemon. Not that Stantler haven't got teamwork.~ she eyed the deer. Every movement, even a flick of an ear, was in unison.
Sulteron smiled. "Buizel, you could take my offer of a Potion any time you want. I won't tell you what to do, you're a wild Pokemon and you have your freedom. Stantler, you shouldn't be so obnoxious now. Buizel, Fiela and Zen will take you down!" she shouted, before slipping into her two Pokemon's minds. +Zen, Wrap. Fiela, Sand Attack. It doesn't matter which ones.+ she spoke softly.
Fiela's tail brushed the ground, sending a wave of sand, grit and mud in the direction of the Stantler's eye, while Zen, careful to avoid said sand, sought a place to twist her body tightly around.

The Buizel paid no mind to Sulteron, but rather focused itself on battle. It didn't seem the listening type at all. The Buizel prepared itself for a fight with the two Stantler; with or without the help of the trainer and her Pokemon. It had always faired well by itself. Of course, it had been a loner most of its life, so that helped a bit, too, but being alone was sometimes a good thing; it hardened a Pokemon, thoughed them up.
The Buizel had seen many a trainer before in its life that were part-Pokemon. To it, they were just a disgrace. Being only half Pokemon was just... unbearable. It was either you were human, or Pokemon, not a little bit of both. +Hmph. Double battle, eh? Why not try a four on one battle sometime,+
the Buizel grunted, not sounding too friendly towards Fiela or Zen. The Buizel again ignored Sulteron and her offer of a Potion. Potions were for the weak; the Buizel had never used a seen a Potion, let alone used one. It rather used berries to heal itself if absolutely necessary. The Buizel decided on its first attack, and it prepared. As Fiela's tail brushed the ground with a Sand Attack and Zen went in for a Wrap, the Buizel leapt high into the air and began swishing its tail back and forth with enormous power, sending visible shock waves that seemed much too big for a Pokemon of the Buizel's size towards the two Stantler. Both temporarily blinded by the sand, they had no idea of what else was about to happen. As one, they both were sent skidding back a few feet. The Buizel finished its attack, and then before the Stantler could see again sent another attack them. Taking in a deep breath, it exhaled, sending a large amount of water towards the Stantler on the left. Still recovering from the Sand Attack and Sonicboom, both Stantler were oblivious, and the one on the left was forced off of its feet as it landed on its side near the river side. The other felt the tight Wrap of the Dratini on its body and gave a small unnameable sound of astonishment as its breath became short huffs as if tried to break free fo Zen's grasp.

Sulteron was amazed by the power of Buizel as it attacked. The Pokemon would be great on her team, but that was up to Buizel to descide. The attacks had gone down well, judging on the Stantler's reaction. Exactly to plan; the Sand Attack had made the Stantler blinded while the attacks from Buizel and Zen struck. At Buizel's comment on the two-against-three status of the battle, she thought about calling one of her Pokemon back, but descided against it. After all, Buizel was not her Pokemon and could drop out at any time he liked, but she could tell he was too proud to.
+Tackle, Fiela. Zen, hang in there. You're doing great.+ Zen tried as hard as she could to keep her snaking body gripped tightly to Stantler's coarse furred flanks, not able to afford turning her concentration away. Fiela used her wings to make her even faster as she darted toward the other Stantler in the promised Tackle. Her head was down so it would not get hurt by the impact, but the rest of her body was ready to slam into her foe.

The Male Stanter, seeing its identical twin sister Stantler in trouble quickly recovered from the Water Gun, definitely weakened but spirit far from breaking. It shot a Leer at the Dratini, hoping to weaken its defence while his sister bucked it off. It then turned its attention to the Buizel; his sister was busy, so now it was between him and the Buizel. The ugliest Espeon he had ever seen didn't matter now.
The Buizel waited for the Stantler to make his move. He could have easily ended the fight right then and there, but decided against it, to make it a little more interesting. As the Stantler charged at the Buizel at an enormous speed, the Buizel waited until last second to move out of the way, quickly spinning in the air and using a Headbutt on the Stantler who had attempted skidding to a stop. The Stantler was sent skidding towards Fiela, landing on its side and not getting up. +Finish him off if you'd like,+
the Buizel commented, now focusing on the other Stantler. As the other Stantler had felt the Leer hit the Dratini, she had began buckin furiously in circles, in hopes of making the Dratini get motion-sickness or something of the sort. The entire time, her eyes had been closed, and she had been trying her hardest, wearing down her own energy. She opened her eyes to see her brother nearly defeated, and then she knew that they would be no match for these Pokemon. With one last, final buck the female Stantler gave a cry of frustration and defeat and collapsed, breathing heavily.

Fiela nodded to Buizel and struck out with a last Tackle, causing the Stantler to be defeated as promised. She looked to her trainer, proud that she had won her first battle, alongside Zen. The two high fived each other- well, for Zen it was a high tail- and stayed where they were, for Sulteron was coming over to them. Wait, didn't trainers normally catch their Pokemon from where they were?
Then they knew why- Sulteron was checking to see how the Stantler were in case they needed urgent attension or something. She briefly checked them over one at a time. "Hm... Nothing serious, but they shouldn't battle until I get them to a Pokemon Centre. Or, they could stay here and get berries and all that." she looked to her Pokemon to see what to do. Fairo nodded, mouthing 'catch'.
"Okay, Fairo, but I'm catching both or neither. I don't think they want to be separated." Sulteron said, referring to how close they had been. She took out a Pokeball, and, after not throwing it, turned to Buizel. "How are you feeling, Buizel? Are you feeling better, or do you think you need some berries so something? Or are you ready to go back about whatever it is you normally do?"

The Buizel, after the short, but intense battle on his behalf, was exhausted. He watched as the trainer inspected the Stantler before announcing she wouild catch both or neither. Well, at least she... or it appeared to be a she, wasn't all about battle and would catch one and leave the other one to probably become ruthless alone in the wild. That was something that you didn't see every day, or even every year, the Buizel decided.
The Buizel thought about how having a trainer would affect him... he would definitely get leveled up, and despite him hating Pokemorphs since they were wanna-be Pokemon, he respected the Pokemon's trainer for deciding to catch neither Stantler and let them both run free. The Buizel crossed his arms and turned his head, not in the mood to argue now since he was so exhausted. +[i}Better
, in a sense. Would you like another addition to your team or party or whatever it's called?+ the Buizel asked, sitting down before he gave time for his legs to give out on him. ooc:// Sorry for short reply, kind of having writer's block this morning =/

Sulteron was flattered. "Really? You'd like to come along with me? Awesome! I guess all that needs to happen is for you to get inside this Pokeball." she explained, holding out the one she had almost used on the Stantler who was now swiftly trotting away.
Fairo smiled. ~And don't worry if you don't like it. I haven't been inside my Pokeball since we met.~ he said proudly, recalling the long hours he had been inside in the laboratory, waiting for someone to pick him up. The Pokeball was there, all that was left for Buizel to do was to touch the button. Entirely his choice.
ooc// Zen and Fiela each gain 2 levels, because of the rule thingy, right?

+Being wild is nice, but you rarely get any stronger. If I were captured, at least I'd have a chance at getting stronger,+
the Buizel replied. The two Stantler who had been badly defeated were now out of sight. The Buizel glanced at Fairo. +Oh, I don't mind Pokeballs at all. It's the Pokemon that look like Pokeballs I'm not too fond of,+ it said, swishing its tail towards the Pokeball and allowing itself to be sucked in. After a few wiggles a jiggles, the Pokeball stopped moving, and the center button blinked once, coming to a complete rest. Congratulations! You caught wild Buizel! Also, Fiela and Zen gain two levels each! Well done you two! Sulteron smiled happily as the Buizel was caught, letting it walk outside his Pokeball in the almost-gone snow. Soon the figures of the girl and five Pokemon disappeared into the horizon, nearing Parchville.
