Type
Fire. Entei is a fire type.
Gender
Not entirely sure, but it looks to me like male. So male.
Age/Level
As old the great element of fire (and that’s old).Level 50.
Attacks
bite, scratch, ember, growl, roar, fire spin, stomp, flamethrower, and fire fang.
Name/Nickname
The Eternal Blaze
Appearance
Entei rarely appears to anyone as more than just a streak of fire, a brown and red flaring dash visible for a mere second before it disappears off somewhere unknown. He has not been sighted very often, but when he does its enough to make anyone stop in their tracks. His great ribbons on either side of his body ripple in the breeze, even when there isn’t one. His fur seems to be being stroked by fire; the brown fur gives the occasional red flicker as fire licks Entei’s entire body.
History
When Arceus created the universe, it created six Pokemon to control the elements of fire, ice, thunder and water. Three of these it chose to make messengers of the air; those three were Moltres, Arcticuno and Zapdos. The others were decided upon later. Here’s the story on how Entei came to being, in the point of view of Moltres.
I, Moltres, was made to rule over the element of fire, as my siblings were made to rule over electricity and water (ice). We started out looking the same, but, when appointed rulers of our elements, we changed and grew to look something like their elements. I was surprised to wake up one morning just a few days after being appointed ruler of fire to have a small flame burning on the edge of my wing.
I thought to myself, “How come I am on fire, yet it doesn’t hurt?”, and by the next two months, I barely recognized myself. The edges of my wings were entirely on fire now, and my tail had turned from feather to flame. I stood up, taller than before. In previous times I had been weak, but now the transformation was complete, I felt more at one with my element. I turned from my changed siblings, spread my wings, and took flight for the first time since my transformation.
It felt wonderful, to fly through the air. I was followed by a trail of fire made by my wings and tail, eternally burning. I engulfed myself in that fire, a burning streak shooting through the air. Somehow I knew where I was going. I needed a knew home, and I was letting fire guide me there. I ended up at the tallest volcano you had ever seen, hot, but still lacking lava leaking from the surface. It was perfect. After the tiring journey, I settled down, folding my wings and tucking my head to my body, always alert for anything that might be a threat.
I suffered great disappointment on that volcano. I was trying to create fire from scratch. I felt it to be important knowledge. However, no matter how hard I tried, even when I drew on the volcano’s power, I could not do it. I even flew down into the volcano one time. But even more worrying- the volcano had no magma, not even when I dived down under the Earth’s crust itself. I grew very scared. How could this world survive without fire?
Eventually, the need for fire grew so bad that I gathered my siblings to our birthplace far away. They too told me that they were having difficulties. The North which was supposed to be forever frozen, was not. The exclusive skies of the craggy mountain on which Zapdos lived, supposively forever filled with thunder and lightning, were not. That settled it. We went to the highest point in the world, and screeched to the sky to let us see Arceus, the creator of everything, include us and our elements.
The sky suddenly turned black. Then it cracked with a bright light, and a great Pokemon came down to the earth before us. It held the very essence of power. We all three bowed down as it approached. Then I stepped forwards and said, “O, great Arceus, creator of us all, we come to you with a problem.” Arcticuno continued with, “Our elements do not entirely exist yet.” Then Zapdos finished off with, “We need your help. Can you please fix it?”
Arceus howled to the sky. “Indeed I can. I believe these elements need a final essence to finish them. I will send one more ruler of each of your elements, whom carry that essence!” And with that, Arceus glowed. Tiny particles around us glowed. They span into three spots, forming three dog shapes, also glowing with that same strange white light. Then it was over. The newly formed creature stopped glowing, as did Arceus.
Before us stood three dogs, one of water, another of electricity, and the last… fire. Arceus spoke, “These are the Pokemon who hold the essences of your elements. There names are Suicune, Raiku and Entei. Ensure their wellbeing.” and with that, Arceus faded- and disappeared. Then Entei, in front of me, began to howl. The other two joined. A thunderclap was heard, and a streak of lightning scarred the ground, sending a shiver of delight down Zapdo’s spine. It began to hail too, but Entei’s fire did not go out. Us six Pokemon showed a display of our newly discovered powers for the rest of that night.
The following morning we went our separate ways. My volcano erupted, the North froze, and Zapdo’s mountain filled with thunder once more. As far as I know, Entei, my savior and rival, travels from volcano to volcano, never stopping for long, and very occasionally visiting me.
Personality
Entei does not like to be seen by humans. If he is, he will immediately blend with fire, or make sure he wasn’t seen in some way. But, some humans he doesn’t mind, as some of them are different, without that self-centered nature humans generally have. He is also sometimes fine around pokemorphs, especially the ones who have gone through terrible hardships, as he finds he can understand them more. He hates it when humans or pokemorphs gawp at him and treat him differently than they would with Pokemon that aren’t the only one of their species. For some reason, it tends to happen less with pokemorphs, probably because they can understand Pokemon. He sometimes gets lonely as he is the only Entei. His best friend is Moltres, his friendly rival. He also enjoys the company of Suicune and Raiku. When encountering other Pokemon of different kinds, he tries to be kind to them, but will always accept a challenge, although generally wins them. He is normally itching for a battle, but tries not to show it, for he might intimidate others. However, he intimidates them anyway. He likes to keep his reputation as a legendary ruler over fire.
