Soteria Academy
The Plot
The world of Pokémon had changed over the last one hundred years ... The world had started a slow downward spiral into savagery, mistreatment, and severe lack of a working class. It began way back when, back in the times when it was smiled upon for children to leave the house at the young age of ten to begin a journey around the world as a Pokémon trainer. These children, as they grew older, lacked the education necessary to perform properly in even the most common jobs. They had no way to earn themselves money, and the balance of the working world was thrown into a major upset. There was something that this generation did know however... They knew how to use their Pokémon, and that is what they did. Many trainers, in order to earn money, turned to their Pokémon to work various jobs. The Pokémon that couldn't do jobs were forced on the streets to entertain and even beg for any type of coins. All while their trainers earned the money, which was almost never spent on the hardworking creatures that deserved it. Instead they were underfed, overworked, and if they tried to revolt... Their trainers abused them harshly.
This went on for a long while, till a few trainers of the old put a stop to the madness. They put many things into action, including a very life-changing law for the entire world. You were no longer allowed to raise, train, or have Pokémon. The law was forced into every region, every city, and every town. Police marched through streets, collecting Pokémon and freeing the poor creatures back into the wild. Very few tried to stay with their trainers because of the years of back-breaking labor. The ones that did were sent to live with others of their kind to reform them. Children were sent to school, where education was almost totally and completely gone but over the years it finally began to succeed. The working class still struggled, but it slowly started rebuilding itself until humans were able to live without the necessity of having Pokémon do it for them. The world was finally beginning to become right again. Yet, there were some who would stare up at the sky when a pidgey flew past or when two sentrets chased each other through the tall grass and they would wish for the days where they had the companion-like creatures by their sides.
The government even seemed to feel this tugging at their hearts as well, and it became a major debate on whether training and raising Pokémon should be allowed again. One side debated that history repeats itself; the other side insisted that the world could learn from its mistakes. In the end, they finally decided. To be able to raise and train Pokémon, you needed a new thing called a 'PokeLicense'. In order to receive one of these licenses, you must attend a Pokémon academy for 4 years. These schools were for 16-20 year olds, which is the age decreed by the officials to be perfect for being able to learn all the necessary information to make a proper living in the world as well as learning to treat Pokémon correctly. Getting through one of these schools was hard work, but in the end they produced knowledgeable trainers who not only work, they made excellent trainers and companions to Pokémon. The world seemed to finally have found its solution, and these schools were soon revered and any child who earned their 'PokeLicense" was very well respected.
Recently a new school has been opened named Soteria Academy... The headmaster is an extremely respected Pokémon trainer and man around the entire world, and the teachers selected are rumored to be the best of the best. They are now selecting applications from hopeful teenagers around the world, and people are yearning to get their children inside this school and have them become the greatest trainers of all time.
And this is where our story begins... Do you have what it takes to get into the Soteria Academy?
