Welcome. Welcome to another world. In this world, the unreal is real. Dragons, werewolves, shape-shifters, sorcerers; you name it. This world is new. New to you, that is. This world is in need of a hero, and to call on heroes, there is one extremely efficient way. By force.
These heroes are selected carefully from the humans of another world. Your world. The world around you, with cars, pollution, and the creatures of our world mere myths and legends. One day, you're leading your normal, everyday life. The next morning- bam! You wake up in our world.
Welcome to the nightmare.
We need saving, yes? But from what? Who? We don't know. All we know is that things are getting worse. Much worse. Monsters, cold, darkness, all growing. Time will explain things to you. Time... and work. Good luck, heroes. Right, to start off with, you'll be an ordinary human. After that, you can develope two powers, or just the one if it's an extremely good one, like controlling an element or something. Name: Lily White Age: 13 Gender: Female Appearance: Lily has straight, golden brown hair. It reaches just past her shoulders, and is usually kept neat, not that she really cares all too much about that. Her eyes are the only thing about her which changed upon coming into this other world. They were previously a similar colour to her hair, although they darkened every so often if she was feeling sad or something. Now, they are a vivid and strange lilac colour, framed in long lashes. They can be soft, harsh, deep, cold, and so on. Various feelings can be seen in those unusual eyes. Her face around it is fairly average, features all in good proportion. She is white skinned, although it is very slightly tanned.
Lily dresses casually. Jeans and a plain T-shirt are fine for her. Her shirts are often plain, and usually short-sleeved; she doesn't tend to get cold. Her jeans often have worn or torn knees, but she doesn't mind. Older clothes are more comfortable. She wears basic footwear, sandals mostly, something easy to take off and on again. She has a few jackets, too. If her shirts aren't plain, they'll have some witty remark on them. She likes wearing soft red or purple, for those colours suit her. She doesn't like wearing green, but on the whole doesn't really mind what she wears. Well, with one exeption; she would never be seen in a skirt or dress. EVER. In this new world, she has gained a new item of clothing; a hooded cape. This is partly because she thinks it makes her look cool, partly because it's extremely warm and comfortable.
Personality: Lily is a kind, sweet sort of girl. She's not one to start a fight. She is cheerful, intelligent and hyperactive, and generally an easy person to get along with and be around. Lily likes to help people, and would never harm a soul. Well, unless that person was really annoying, or a bug. She doesn't like bugs. Especially wasps, for she developed a phobia of them when she was young, and has felt uncomfortable around the winged needles ever since. She isn't scared of much, else, though, aside from having an unusual form of claustaphobia which only occurs underground, in the dark, and around dead people or where dead people once were.
A flaw of Lily's, and a pretty big one, is that she's unbelievably clumsy. She can climb anything and is pretty agile, but she still manages to hurt herself. Give her something dangerous, say, a cliff, or a knife or gun or other weapon, and everyone will still be fine. But, give her something safe, like, say, a floor, a safety corner, a Maths exam, and she will injure herself. Possibly other people, too. She's bungy jumped without a problem, but scraped the skin off her hand tripping a few minutes later. She's fallen in the path of a car and escaped injury, but had to go to hospital apon hitting that safety corner. It's safe to say that she gets injured in the most interesting and often comical ways. Powers (to be developed later, not now): Shapeshifting.

Name: Kenny Marcus Age: 15 Gender: Male
Appearance: Kenny has blonde hair that naturally sticks up at odd angles, giving it the appearance that is has been slightly spiked. However, that theory can be proven wrong by the way that some of the spikes fold downward. If Kenny forced his hair to be down, it would likely at least be shoulder-length, perhaps a bit longer. Kenny's eyes used to be a light blue color, but upon coming to this world they are now a crimson color. Kenny is somewhat short for his age, only reaching around 5'4", but for his shortness, his build makes up for that. Going through weight training every day for the past three years during the school year has really paid off.
Kenny likes to wear tight shirts, baggy pants and sandals. He despises wearing jeans or dress clothes. He wouldn't be caught dead wearing anything related to a tuxedo. Well, maybe at his own funeral, but that's besides the point.
Personality: Kenny, despite his appearance, is actually quite shy and likes to keep to himself. He enjoys no company and seems a bit happier by himself than with other people. He has no interest in girls whatsoever and tries to keep his distance from those that plainly try to flirt with him. Kenny is usually good-tempered, but if you say something about his hair or height, be prepared to get an earful, and then a good punch in the gut or kick where it counts if you're a guy. If you're a girl he'll just give you the cold shoulder and completely ignore you until his anger blows over. Powers (to be developed later, not now): Invisibility, ability to pass through solid objects.

Lily was tired. And, as any sensible person does when they are tired, she went to bed. She didn't perticulaly want to fall asleep, though, for today was Sunday. The fact that today was Sunday meant that tomorrow would be Monday, so she would have to go to school shortly after she woke up. She wished her weekends were longer. She also wished she had revised for her Maths test. The teacher wasn't allowed to murder her for getting 0, right? That was illegal, right? She hoped the teachers would keep that in mind. It was possible, after all. She sighed, sliding under the cosy duvet. Well, she would find out tomorrow. She rolled over. Unseen to anyone, her eyes flashed lilac before she closed them. Soon, after, she was asleep.
After a dream of colours and swirly patterns, Lily woke. While she was in a state where she wasn't quite awake, still having her eyes closed and her body moving at the speed of a sleeper but still being aware of things around her. She became aware of jeering, nervous laughter and more confident shouts. She also became aware that something was jabbing her in the arm. Pretty hard, too. It was slightly painful.
Poke poke ow annoying stop it ow poke poke
This was what went through her mind before said mind snapped into focus, and she yawned. "Stop it, mum. I'll get up soon." she mumbled. More laughter. Confused, she opened her eyes. And very nearly screamed.
She was not in her bed, as she had expected. She was lying on a street, an alleyway, resting against a building. It was drizzling lightly, and she seemed to have a cloak draped over her. A nice maroon one with a hood and golden yellow hems. Surrounding her were a group of five boys, all looking about fifteen. The tallest and most muscular, the leader, was poking her with a stick. A few of the others were holding thick foot-long pieces of branch like weapons. They all flinched for some reason as she looked at them, a couple taking a few steps backward. This confused Lily even more.
"Why... wha... who..." she managed, choking on her words. She cleared her throat, took a deep breath, and tried again. "Where am I? Who are you? What's with the sticks? Why are you scared? Where'd this cloak come from?" she asked, puzzled.
Even the leader still looked fearful, his dark eyes toubled. "You're is Harlow Town. We're just a group of friends. The sticks are in case you attack. Same reason why we're scared. Dunno about the cloak. Think I saw some guy put it over you as if he was concerned." he said, sounding cold. He didn't look as if he really enjoyed giving out informationg too much, and the others looked even more worried. Some shot him glances that said 'What the hell are you doing?'
Lily shook her head, not believing this. "I'm dreaming. There's no such place as Harlow Town, I've never heard of it. And why would you be worried about me attacking?" she asked, questioning their sanity. Maybe they'd just moved her here for some cruel joke.
The leader looked as if he was questioning her sanity, not the other way around. "Where've you been the past few years? He-llo, stranger down an alleyway with freakin' purple eyes! You could be a werewolf or evil sorcerer, for all we know!" he said, voice raising in pitch and volume.
Lily shook her head. "Come on, guys. Don't be dumb. Those things don't exist, and my eyes aren't- holy moley..." she trailed off, seeing her reflecting in a puddle. True to the boy's word, her eyes were a very bright shade of lilac. She swallowed as they began to talk.
"What should we do?" "Dunno. Do you think she'd-" "Nah, she can't be older than twelve or thirteen, for God's sake!" "That don't change anything." "We should hand her over." "But she's so young... excecution's a bit harsh, poor thing." "You always were too sympathetic. But yeah, I guess so." the leader ended the quick discussion, turning back to Lily. He fixed her with a cold gaze. "You know how there are more and more monsters about, and the government are killin' 'em all? Well, we won't hand you in. Just... get out of here, and don't come near us again, right?" he said sternly.
Lily nodded, immedietly scrambling to her feet. She put the cloak on. She felt, through the fear and nasty feeling of her damp hair, a little pleased. She felt cool. Really cool. Well, the purple eyes were a little freaky, but the cloak made her look like a girl from a movie, just a little younger. Rain dripped from the hood bathing her face in shadow from the nearing dawn. With that, she thanked the boys, smiled, and walked off. She wondered about the town, trying to find the way out or someone who would help her. Eventually, she made it to a forest. She scrambled easily up a tree to sit, legs dangling a few feet from the ground, on a low-ish branch.

Name: Elizabeth Black (ahahah name cliché) Age: Fourteen, to average things out. Gender: Female. Well, what sort of guy would be caught dead with a name like 'Elizabeth'? Appearance: In a word, scruffy. Prim, neat and clean are all the things Elizabeth isn't. Her hair, for a start, is dark and matted, sticking out in uneven strands at strange angles. It would easily reach thirty centimetres in length if there was any sort of downward pull on it, but generally there isn't. Her chubby, oval face might be somewhat pretty if it wasn't constantly covered in mud and smears of 'other things'; her eyes, once a deep, oceanic grey-blue, were just about the cleanest-looking thing on her body at any given moment. Except they weren't greyish blue in colour any more. After coming to the strange new world, her eyes (apparently spontaneously) became a glittering white (well, more like pale, diamond grey, but the paleness was the first thing a stranger noticed). If before they had generally been hard to read, now they were simply completely blank. The only emotion they conveyed was when they were shut, and that meant she was either very happy, blinking, or asleep. Or possibly dead. They're out of proportion to the rest of her face, and are overall hard to miss. Her nose is bent from falling out of a tree.
The rest of her body is likewise unkempt, with blistered and cut skin. Over it, she wears thick, baggy trousers, and over those she wears an old, tough lab coat. Probably, it was once at least vaguely white, but years of abuse and not very many washes had turned it a sort of reject grey-brown colour. These don't provide very much thermal insulation, so around her shoulders can normally be found a large fluffy cape. To be honest, it looks less like a cape and more like a carpet or a throw that's had a piece of string tied to it, but what's the difference, really? The outfit is complete with worn leather boots and a set of goggles strapped to her head (the goggles, not the boots, you ninny).
Personality: Extrovertial, much? Raising a child away from much human contact is never a particularly good thing, but in this case it wasn't too bad. Instead of a freak, all that was produced was a girl with no social skills. She doesn't like the company of humans, much prefering that of bugs. Yeah, bugs. Elizabeth loves bugs. I mean, not literally, but she has an obsession bordering on the limits of sanity. She keeps bugs in her pockets, bugs in her room, bugs in her bug-houses... you can't look at an area a square foot around her without seeing at least three different kinds of bugs. She's pretty knowledgeable about them, too. Which ones eat what, where they live, how they work, which ones are tasty, which ones are poisonous, which ones produce chemicals she can get high on... and etcetera, etcetera. It's part of the reason she has no friends.
Her education came in bits and pieces, and she was mostly home-schooled. Spending part of her life in the tropics and thus having a light accent, she has a talent for languages and is multi-linguistic. She enjoys studying different languages almost as much as she enjoys collecting bugs. Actually, that's a lie. She spends almost all of her time finding new specimens, or at least would if her mother didn't keep attempting to teach her things. Bugs and more bugs; basically how to sum her up.
Powers (to be developed later, not now): Tongues - the ability to speak in all languages Hokodan - an energy projectile weapon, roughly spherical in shape

"I'm heading to bed, mom. Tell dad that I'll be ready to go to the weight room with him at six tomorrow morning." Kenny called down the stairs to his mom. "You guys. I don't know how you manage getting up that early every day! I'll tell him that no changes have been made, Ken. Good night; remember not to over-do it since you have school tomorrow." his mom called. Kenny sighed and shut his room door quietly. Back into the groove of weightlifting; the only day he took off was Sundays.
Kenny lay in bed, unable to sleep. He had an ominous feeling about that evening. He glanced at the clock by his bed; one in the morning. He had to get up in four and a half hours. And tomorrow was school; how would he manage with getting this much sleep? A sensation hit him, and hurried to the restroom. About a minute later he zipped up his pants, feeling quite relieved. Those three cans of Coca Cola had finally gone through him. He glanced to the door, which he had left wide open. His Beagle that they had recently gotten was standing there, innocently observing him. "What are you lookin' at, Dip?" he said with a smile, moving toward the dog. The dog barked once, then began to growl. What was up with that? She hadn't done that before; as he passed by the mirror he caught a glance of his own reflection. He paused and looked straight into it and froze in shock; what had happened to his eyes? They were... a dark red color. He blinked his eyes a few times, but the color didn't go away. He backed away; perhaps he was just imagining things. It was pretty early, right? A wave of tiredness overcame him, and he trudged back to his room, Dip now whining and keeping her distance. He closed the door behind him, ignoring the scratching on his door from Dip. A few seconds after his head hit the pillow, he fell asleep.
...
A steady drizzle of wetness gently tickling Kenny's face woke him up. At first he thought it was just Dip drooling on him, then he opened his eyes to see a... red sky? No, that wasn't right... He sat up slowly and took off what appeared to be shades tinted red. His clothing was different, and he didn't recognize anything around him. Where was he? He looked up at the sky again; this time a variety of colors on the grayscale. He seemed to be in an alleyway of some sort. The first thought that ran through his head now was 'inside out apricot! Dad's going to be pissed at me for not being at home on time! It's probably close to eight A.M. at least!', and it surprised him. That should be the least of his worries; he had to figure out where the hell he was first. He stood up, and for a few seconds he was dizzy; how long had he been laying down? At least he had warmish clothes on. A synthetic leather jacket had been placed on him, and it was quite the unusual color; a crimson color. His pants were a bit ragged, but were nice and insolated. Agan with the odd colors; a blonde color, like that of his hair. Then he remembered something; his eyes. He went to the nearest puddle and crouched down, observing himself. They were more defined now; earlier they had been a lighter red, now they were darker, and it didn't seem as though they would be changing back to their previous blue color anytime soon. What would people think if they saw him like that? He quickly slid the shades back onto his nose, grateful for whoever had given them to him. He would have to find someone and ask them where exactly he was, assuming that this wasn't a dream of some sort. He walked casually out of the alleyway and down the street; he noticed that there was a forest on the edge of the town, but he didn't bother trying there. Who knew what would be in there?
((Sorry for crappiness. Had to be cut short -.- *grumbles*))

Unbeknownst to Lily, there was already another person in the tree she was sitting in. There was a muted rustling, and an upside-down face plopped into vision. A benign pair of glassy eyes met the girl's gaze and held it for a few seconds, before the face spoke. "Hey, keep it down. I've found this awesome specimen and I can't catch it if you scare it off." It was muttered softly, but the other's light accent was plain. Adjusting the goggles perched on her forehead, the girl pulled herself up back into the tree.
Admittedly, most people would be rather worried upon finding themselves in a strange place, as was Elizabeth. There had been no prior warning to her suddenly moving at all. She'd gone to bed, feeling slightly dejected; the dragonfly she'd been trying to catch had eluded her, and she had returned home without a specimen, before being practically duct-taped to a chair and taught Geography for two hours. Staying up late to watch the different insects that flocked to a light outside her room, she'd fallen asleep as soon as her head had hit the pillow. There were no mirrors in her bedroom, but had there been one she would have noticed her eyes seemed slightly off-colour: a lot... paler than usual.
And then she'd woken up. In a puddle, no less. Picking herself dejectedly up, she had been wearing the lab coat that was her usual apparell, but also her cold-weather cloak. That had been strange. In fact, it had totally spoiled her mood, and the discovery that she now posessed freakish snow-grey eyes was just rubbing salt into the wound. However she'd quickly forgotten all of that upon seeing a strange something out of the corner of her eye. Dashing forwards into the forest in hot pursuit, she'd chased it around before cornering it into a tree close to the outskirts. Scampering up its trunk, she had been pleased to find her net in one pocket, and had until the new arrival been sneakily inching up a branch towards it.
The strange girl spoiled her plans, of course. The magnificent butterfly - she'd determined that as what it was, though it was no species she'd ever seen before - had shifted to another branch, which botched things up royally. Grumbling, she descended the tree a short way, looking for a route to another limb and altogether thoroughly ignoring the person on the branch below her.
(( FFFFT I have no muse
And mine's shorter, Ken, so ha. ))

Lily watched the newcomer absently. It seemed she was not too interested in her. That was... good, she supposed. In some ways. She didn't seem to be very sociable, either. Meh, she supposed everyone had their different ways. She personally found it extremely easy to make friends, thanks to her sunny personality. She picked up from the girl's scowl as she watched a butterfly switch branches that this bug was the 'specemin' she'd been talking about. Lily didn't care much for bugs- they were disgusting creatures, in her opinion- but she didn't mind a few, like butterflies. This was not a sort she recognised, but since she didn't obsess over learning loads of different species of bugs as Elizebeth did, this didn't mean much to her.
The butterfly disappeared off into the forest as a thin growl sounded behind the girls. Lily's head whipped around to search from the source, eyes wide. Uh-oh. What could this be? Hadn't the boys from earlier mentioned that there were monsters about? Could this be such a monster? She was rooted to the spot, her freshly purple eyes fixed on the shadows.
Another growl, louder this time. It was raining harder now, but Lily didn't notice. The only thing on her mind right now was whatever was making that sound. Then the creature slipped out of the shadows, barely making a sound. It seemed to be vaguely feline. Its shoulder would have come level with the top of an average human male's head, although by the look of the monster, if anyone tested this that head would disappear. The cat-thing's teeth were like daggers, with four long fangs making the snarl just that bit more threatening. The eyes were narrowed, but clearly sensitive. Muscles were packed onto the quadruped, appearing to have been crammed as much as possible under the jet black fur rather than designed by evolution. Four steely claws produced from each paw, looking like they had the ability of tearing through pretty much anything.
The cat-think looked right at Lily. She avoided making eye contact, knowing that that meant a challenge or something if your were a cat. She breathed deeply, trying not to panic. Right. No sudden movements, now loud sounds. Slowly, she spoke softly to the other girl. "Hey, er, perhaps we should climb out of reach. I think it's a carnivour. And can jump." she said, trying her best to keep her voice even and calm. Always keeping the beast in her vision, she made her way to a higher branch, hating how slow she was forced to move. She sat, watching the creature's reaction.
At first, the feline flicked its long slender tail, annoyed. It rested its front paws against the tree. Lily tensed, thinking it would climb up. She was wrong; the tree began to bend under the force of the the animal's paws. Oh. It was tearing down the tree. With that strength, how long would it be before it would kill them? Lily looked at Elizabeth. "Erm, perhaps we should go. Before we get eaten." she suggested, studying the ground. With the amount the tree had bent, it was near enough to be able to jump to, but she wasn't sure if she would emerge unscathed. She supposed she had no other option, anyway; she could hardly climb down with that monster at the base of the trunk.
Lily leapt, timing it carefully. She rolled at the end of the jump- she'd heard that that helped from somewhere- and broke into a sprint, heading back to the town. She was a little jogged by the fall, but she ignored the dull protesting pains in her body. She needed to get away. Fast. Now. Before the monster realised and ate her. Glancing back a couple of times, she could see that it had stopped bending the tree, and was staring at her racing away with fierce eyes, filled with loathing. Perhaps it was vaugly intelligent, and knew that if it followed her into the town, it would be brought down by those government people the boys had mentioned. That was the very reason she was heading back into town, too. Adrenalin fueled her body, allowing her to run faster. She didn't dare glance behind her again, but she desperately hoped that Elizabeth had followed her. If not... she would have been killed.
Lily continued running as she reached the first street, cloak billowing out behind her, not paying attention to where she was going until-
"Oof!"
She'd stumbled and ran into someone. Typical. "Oh, man, I'm so sorry!" she gasped, examining the stranger. He looked about fifteen, short, with spikey blonde hair. She didn't comment on the strange red eyes, thinking about her own purple ones, although they did make her wary. The boys had said they some human-formed monsters had odd eyes. He was quite good looking, too. Lily blinked. "Er, hi. I'm Lily." she greeted, holding out a hand for him to shake. If Elizabeth had had the sense to flee from the monster, then our three heroes have met up. Kenny, Lily and Elizabeth.

((True, Alpha, but yours is better-written ))
It seemed like he was just making a large circle; he'd probably passed the same house three times now. Unless all the blocks were exactly the same, or the town was just really small. Perhaps even both. And it seemed as though not many people were out; those that were didn't pay attention to him, almost as if he weren't even there. He spotted a person walking towards him and decided he would ask that person where exactly he was, and if they knew how he got there. It might sound a bit cheesy, but it would get the point across. Upon taking one step, he felt something solid plow into him.
?! Catching his balance and managing not to fall over, he watched as his tinted shades fell to the ground. He bent down and picked them up, turning to face whatever had bumped into him, then placing the shades back on his face. He gave a sigh; it was a girl that looked a few years younger than he. Probably hadn't been paying attention to where she was going. "Don't sweat it, it's fine." he said in a monotone, not sure whether or not to ask her. He glanced over to where the person had been walking earlier; they were long gone now. He might just have to ask this girl. Kenny got a better look at the girl, the most noticeable thing he noticed was her long, golden brown hair. Her eyes were an odd lilac color, and her attire was slightly different than others he had seen. He was surprised at the hand gesture; shake hands? He hated shaking hands... a simple greeting was enough. What was the point of a handshake? "Kenny. Nice to meet you, Lily." he said respectfully, but not returning the handshake. ((Bah, fail again xD))

(( Pshaw, no it's not. x3 ))
Get down from the tree and leave the specimen all alone? Was this girl crazy, or something? That would sure explain her freaky eyes. Elizabeth watched with half an eye as the wierd carnivore started to claw down the tree. Yeah, yeah, whatever, she'd deal with that later. Right now she was preoccupied with getting around the trunk, and overall ignoring the crazy girl's words. The girl had jumped down, as well. She really was crazy. Elizabeth had met big cats before, and knew the last thing you did was run away. They could run several times as fast as a human, and had better endurance. It was like trying to outrun a jet engine. But back to her butterfly. She'd finally maneuvered on to the right limb, and was now stalking it along the branch. The tree wobbled under her, but - thank goodness - the insect didn't seem to be phazed. Just a bit closer... a bit closer...
Swiping her net down, it caught the butterfly, and she surpressed a triumphant yell as she brought it towards her. Expertly transferring it into a specimen jar, she held it up in front of her, grinning, before reaching for her sketchpad. If she could make a few notes... And then the tree began to collapse under her. Uh-oh. Placing the jar back in her pocket, she tensed her muscles, before moving in an impressive leap to the next tree. Spending most of your life climbing trees gave you good climbing muscles. Scaling to a top branch, she watched the creature idly, eyes focussed on a point on its forehead. Not that that mattered much, if it was trying to eat her. It wasn't like any big cat she'd ever seen, but was definitely carnivorous. However - and this was a big however - it didn't look like it could climb trees. Its muscles were too densely packed, its toes too compact. That would explain why it hadn't just come after them, as well. Doing something at this point might be good, and Elizabeth settled down to think about her options. Currently, the cat-thing was just sitting and watching her. She could a) jump down into its waiting jaws and try to outrun it... psh, nah, that wouldn't work. She could b) wait until it went away. That might work. Or, c), she could go through the trees until she reached the edge of the forest (visible a little way away) and then leg it to safety. That could work, as well.
Now, b) or c). Well, cats like this could wait for prey for hours, and this one looked smart. Also, she was getting kind of wet; also, she had a specimen jar in her pocket, and detaining specimens for two long was not good. c) it was, then. At least if it went wrong she could go with plan b). Scurrying down a few branches, her next leap took her to another bough of a neighbouring tree, and she grabbed a limb and swung on it, her momentum carrying her to the next tree along. Checking herself, she glanced down to see if the predator was following her. Yes it was. Oh well. Next tree; she almost lost her footing on the wet, mossy branch, but took hold of a protruding piece of bark to steady herself; and the next, and the next. The butterfly in her coat was getting a bit battered about, but she was nearly there. Jumping from a high-ish branch, she tucked into a roll and a short spring took her to the edge of the forest and finally into the town. Glancing behind her, the monster gave a snarl and slunk back into the cover of the forest. Good, good. Now back to her specimen - oh, look. It was the crazy girl again. In the few minutes or so since she'd last seen her, she had met a friend. How nice. Taking out her specimen jar, she ducked past the pair into the shelter of a nearby porch and started to study the butterfly.

ooc// Urm... if you look, you'd find the phrase 'The butterfly disappeared off into the forest' in my post, Alpha, but never mind. Let's keep this going.
ic// Lily nodded to Kenny, wondering why he hadn't returned her handshake. Again, she supposed that everyone had their reasons. Her eyes strayed to the other girl, who was scrawling something on a notepad, staring at a jar containing that butterfly. She'd risked her life for a stinking butterfly- what an idiot, even if that butterfly had been rare. Lily suspected that she'd arrived in another world; a parallel universe, if you would. Wasn't it possible, then, that over here that species of butterfly was as common as... well, she didn't know the names of butterfly species, so couldn't name a common one. Basically, Lily felt that Elizabeth had risked her life for no reason whatsoever. Then again, perhaps the monster would have chased after her if Elizabeth hadn't remained close by. Whatever. They'd bothed lived.
Lily nervously tugged the hood of her cloak lower, shading her face. Should she tell this boy about the feline-monster-thing? She wasn't even sure if she should be near this kid. The boys earlier had been afraid of oddly coloured eyes, and his were red. Red, the colour of blood. The specific colour didn't have any significance, right? In fact, did abnormal eye colour mean anything at all? Her eyes were such a vibrant purple, but she was pretty certain that she was not a monster. She didn't have fangs, claws, fur, a longing to kill things, nothing. She was fairly sure that she couldn't use magic, either. Maybe the eye colour thing was just rumours, suspicions. Perhaps it was thanks to whatever took her here; but then again, Kenny was from this world, right? Two people didn't get sent away at the same time against all laws of science and probability, right?
Lily swallowed. Maybe Kenny was a monster, then. Or a sorcerer. He seemed nice enough, despite that possibility. The other girl had vaguely uncommon eyes; paler than the norm. Lily wasn't too interested by that, though, because Kenny was directly in front of her and she had just ran into him, and looked like he was tough, the sort who worked out. She examined his features, but found no clues. His clothing choice was simple enough, and he didn't look perticulary evil. She absent-mindedly stroked the deep red fabric of her cloak, thinking. Finally, she decided that she might as well speak. "Hey, Kenny. That girl over there-" she jabbed a thumb in Elizabeth's direction, "- and I just saw a monster pass by in the forest. It was pretty big, carniverous, and feline. Do you know anything about that kind of thing? I don't exatly want to be caught off guard." she smiled slightly, eyes flicking to a library conviniently in sight; she could head there if Kenny didn't know.

The entry of another person who didn't seem phased by him caught his attention momentarily. He got to thinking about this place again; it seemed as though he was blending in fairly well, so perhaps he wasn't so much different than others. The girl who had sat down seemed to be studying some sort of bug; he had never had any interest in animals really, except for his Beagle back at home, Dip. Just by the looks of her, he could tell that she was an odd one; probably not many friends, and with a fascination for... bugs or whatever.
Judging by how Lily was now acting, perhaps she didn't know as much as he thought she did. Maybe... she just moved here? Perhaps she was like him and had been brought here... of course, with as weird as this place was, she could be a young, trained assassin or something that gained the trust of others to make the kill easier. Something told him to stop right there and think about what he was thinking... why would anyone want to kill him anyways? Lily seemed like an innocent enough girl; but he'd still not act too friendly towards her yet, just in case.
Hearing Lily speak pried him away from his thoughts. A monster pass by in the forest? Big, carnivorous, feline... well, this place was getting weirder and weirder. Of course, what would you expect from somewhere you've never heard of or been to? "Unless I saw it, I wouldn't be able to tell you what it is. There's quite a few of those things running around, if I don't miss my bet. Don't let your guard down here; you never know what might happen." he said, trying to reassure himself rather than Lily. He glanced back at the forest, wondering what else could be back there. He then turned to Lily. "Say, you don't seem like you're from around here." he stated; and it was partially true; if he was mistaken, he'd apologize. But, if she wasn't, then... there'd be no reason to hide that he wasn't exactly from wherever they were, either.

(( Ahahah I need to come on here more often >.>
Also disappearing other people's butterflies isn't something I'm overly fond of. ;3 ))
Satisfied her sketching was complete, Elizabeth removed the lid of the jar, holding it up. The butterfly flew slowly out of it, perching on a wooden rail to wait out the bad weather. Now at somewhat of a loose end, the girl tapped her feet on the floor before deciding to join the small group of people. Well less of a group and more like two, but definitions weren't her strong point. Hearing them talk about the beast crazygirl had seen, she whipped out her pad again, drawing a quick sketch and then holding it up. "In case you're interested, it looked like this." It was a rough, if vaguely accurate, depiction of the creature. The blunt snout and the set-back ears had been picked up, as well as the slender tail, shorter than that of say a leopard; likely less for balancing and more for show. "Does that help?"
Now that she studied his face more carefully, his eyes were a strange colour. Crimson, if she had to put a name to it. And crazy girl had purple eyes. Well wasn't that nice. Unbeknownst to her, her own eyes were also a strange colour; not just pale as they had been last night, but completely silver, almost white. Not that it would have bothered her much had she known. Tugging her cloak closer around her shoulders, she grimaced up at the sky. Rain was not nice when it was this cold. Not nice at all.

Lily nodded at Kenny. "Yeah, I'm not from around here. I'm sort of lost, to be honest. Mind you, you don't look like you're from here, either." she said. It was true; Kenny didn't look quite at ease here, almost as if he didn't belong or something. But that was impossible, right? It wasn't as if two people could have shifted universes. That was silly. Unreal. Stupid. She should start to think more logically, rather than jumping to conclusions. Kenny was probably just a traveller, a wonderer with no proper home, just the great outdoors. He might be a monster or sorcerer, but so what? He seemed nice enough so far. She didn't let down her guard, of course, but she didn't feel as if he was experiencing a strong urge to kill her either.
Lily's head turned to face the bug-weirdo as she brandished a scetchpad at her and Kenny. She noted that her eyes were odd, too; pale, almost white. She couldn't be blind, otherwise she wouldn't have remembered what the monster looked like. So, another person with those strange eyes... Lily was fairly certain that the bug-girl wasn't a monster. She didn't seem like she was from here, either. Did that mean that it was possible for all three of them to have travelled to this universe from another one? Lily gritted her teeth. What had she just told herself about thinking logically?
She smiled warmly to the other girl, pushing that aside and holding out her hand for her to shake. "Hello. I'm Lily White. I don't think I got your name." she greeted her. She wondered briefly whether she should go the look stuff up in the library, but decided against it. These people were too interesting.
