Rio was quite surprised that the Dratini was so quick- and skidded to a stop before he went any farther. Of course, it would be impossible to dodge the Dragon Rage, so he took it and silently winced in pain as the fire-like substance ran over his entire body. While Zen was still attached to his horn, he opened his eyes and they changed colors- they looked a lot more menacing, and it was enough to make someone shudder. It was a Scary Face- an attempt to lower Zen's defense. Also, he prepared for his next attack- he knew it would be effective if it could hit, since Zen was a Dragon-type, but... no, he wouldn't use it. That would just make it look like he was a weakling and used type advantages to his... well... advantage.
An Ice Fang, eh? Well, this should be interesting, Gra thought. He continued hurling rocks at Prisul, hoping to do some more damage to him before he could make contact. All four arms were throwing large rocks and smal boulders at Prisul- having two extra helping hands was, in fact, helpful. The more the merrier. Though, Gra made no attempt to dodge the attack... it could be an easy hit, or he could have something up his sleeve. Despite how stupid he and possibly Rio might seem, they weren't that shabby of fighters.

Zen shrank back from the Scary Face, but kept holding onto Rio; she knew that there would be worse things to meet and see if she fell from the Ryhorn. For example, those clawed feet looked dangerous. The Dratini clung desparately to the Ryhorn, although she was terrified of that terrible face. Her Defense stat slipped away.
Sulteron watched her Pokémon as they continued the battle, thinking out a strategy worthy of even Shade, the defender. OK, maybe not that good, but still, when she thought of something, it would be usefull. Unless, of course, the wild Pokémon had something up their sleeves. "Zen, Twister! Prisul, keep going with the Ice Fang!" she called.
Zen nodded, loosening her grip a little to allow herself to create a small twirling mass off wind, pebbles and various other debris. She aimed it directly downwards, at Rio. Because she was riding him, it would most likely hurt her too; she prepared to fling herself away when or if her became distracted enough by that to lose interest in her. Because it was at close range, hopefully it would be more painful.
Prisul remembered the meteors as Gra hurled the boulders and rocks at him. They had been so terrifying, so scary. He had dodged as many as he could in the way he was now; weaving in and out on his half spread out wings, occasionally getting hit by one. He advanced closer to the Graveller, and opened his maw away from the whirling arms and prepared to bite down with freezing cold teeth.

Oh, dang. With that Dratini wrapped around his horn, it would be impossible to get many attacks off... and if he just bucked like a Rapidash that wouldn't do too much good- the Dratini would just wrap herself even tighter around his horn. So, what to do? Think quick, think fast. I gotta think of sumthin' or I'm screwed... Rio thought. When Rio heard Sulteron shout out for Zen to use Twister, an idea came to him- would ramming his horn into a wall work? Well, only one way to find out, he thought. With that, he began charging at the nearest wall, taking care to move his head a little bit now and then so as to keep Zen from getting an attack off and concentrate on holding on.
+Awh, come on! Is that the best yeh can do?+
Gra exclaimed as Prisul flew even closer to him. As Prisul neared, Gra suddenly shined slighty- Rock Polish, upping his Speed. An, faster than he had been moving earlier, he moved even closer to Prisul, drawing one of his arms back as it glowed and brought it forward with amazing power- a Mega Punch. As it met with the Ice Fang, his arm was temporarily frozen. He drew it back and flexed it a bit, eventually breaking it. +Well, that was a lil' unexpected. I'd better watch it if yeh keep usin' Ice Fang.+ Gra said.

Zen watched the wall of the cave grow steadily closer, and every time she had her attack ready to use, Rio moved his head, making her unable to attack. Prisul, altough hurt from the Mega Punch, was pleased with himself for finding a good way to defeat Gra. He landed, wings folded in a satisfyed pose.
Sulteron smiled. This was becoming a good battle; she could win! Gra and Rio were tough, but was she tougher? This was the only way to find out, she supposed. Thinking of strategies, ways to counter the Rock type's attacks, all sprung to mind. However, she wasn't sure which to use. In a battle, the trainers have to think on their feet a lot. That was what Sulteron was doing right now. "Zen! Get onto Rio's back, and use Twister before diving off! Prisul, use Ice Fang on Gra's strongest arm!" she called.
Zen smiled, unlatching herself from Rio's horn. She slithered quickly onto his back, whipping strong winds and debris in a Dragon type Twister attack. She could see the rock wall of Gem Cave approaching her, fast. Rio had good Defense and hard skin, and so would fare better than her, who would probably be defeated if she was thrown into the wall with the force of a Rhyhorn. She dived off his back, wincing as she landed on the jagged floor. Oof. She hadn't prepared herself for a bad landing. Still in a little stinging pain, she snaked her way to a safe distance to watch what would happen.
Prisul knew that Gra would use his four strong arms for a lot of his attacks, and so it seemed sensible to give the three strongest of them a good freezing, leaving only a weak arm to fight with. This turn, Prisul aimed for what appeared to be the strongest arm; the top one on Gra's right.

Rio watched triumphantly as the Dratini finally gave up and slithered off his horn. Great, now he could really start using his attacks - wait, hang about. Wall.
With too much momentum behind his heavy body, the Ryhorn dug his heels into the rough ground but couldn't stop the wall as it moved inexorably closer. As he collided, there was a loud THUNK and a large amount of dust was sent up into the air. Shade put out a hand to steady herself as her perch shuddered from side to side. That had been a head-on collision; that had to have hurt... something suddenly occured to the watching Weavile, and a sly smile crossed her muzzle. Or not...
The dust was clearing now, and in the middle of a heap of rocks and a few dislodged gems - ooh - Rio was... picking himself up? Oddly, he appeared to be relatively unharmed by the collision. Of course! One of Rhyhorn's abilities was Rock Head. That prevented recoil damage from recoil moves, but it also protected Rhyhorn against collisions with hard objects. Tossing his head, Rio eyed down the Dratini. Right, now it was a sitting duck - er - snake. Rubbing his foot on the ground, although noticeably with less 'oompf' than before, and charged forward. This was Take Down, a pretty strong move with recoil, although the Rhyhorn wouldn't feel a thing.
Gra winced as he felt Prisul's jaws close around his favoured arm. Damn... as the Aerodactyl let go and swooped off, ice formed around the rock. This trainer was clever... complete freezing with Ice Fang was very rare, but concentrating the move into a small area of the body caused almost guaranteed partial freezing. Gra thought rapidly; the trainer appeared to be trying to freeze all of his arms. Stopping to defrost an arm this turn would cost him his attack, coupled with the base damage from Ice Fang and he would lose before he could get off another attack. If the trainer was trying to stop him from attacking with his arms, then...
Curling into a ball, Gra changed tactic and instead rolled straight forwards, aiming for the Aerodactyl. A nice change - this was a Rollout attack. The longer he used it and the more momentum was accumulated, the more powerful it would get. For now, the Graveler seemed to be ignoring his frozen arm, though with it sapping his stamina slowly it was dubious how long that would last.

Sulteron's jaw clenched as she saw that Rio was unaffected by the crash into the wall. Oh, no. She'd forgotton about Ryhorn's ability to prevent recoil! She had, at first, been pleased, preparing herself for celebration as she thought that the rhino Pokémon would have surely been severely damaged by that. What a disappointment that had been! Oh, she needed to think of a clever strategy. She needed to discover Rio's weakness as she'd just discovered Gra's, although it seemed she might need to rethink that due to the Rollout. She supposed she'd just have to think of something. Perhaps if Zen and Prisul switched apponents, maybe? "Zen, use Dragon Rage on Gra! Prisul, Bite on Rio!" she called.
Zen was surprised at Sulteron's latest battle command. Well, an order was an order, after all. She knew Sulteron could be trusted, and in return she would obey. The Espeon 'morph usually had some smart trick up her sleeve. The Dratini was struck by the Take Down attack, but kept going to Gra, ignoring the pain. She turned her mouth at the Rock type, and opened her jaw. This revealed the Dragon type's small sharp teeth, and a small glowing ball of green energy. This grew larger, and finally Zen used the Dragon Rage attack. The ball turned into a thin and accurate beam, shooting at the rolling Graveller from Zen's safe distance. It was a fairly accurate shot, and this attack wasn't affected by types or anything.
Prisul had a hard time swapping opponents. As he turned in the air to swoop away from Gra and towards Rio, he was caught by the Rollout, and he only just managed to stop himself slamming into a wall himself, and he didn't have Rio's ability. The Aerodactyl finally managed to get near Rio, jaws stretching wide open as he reached out to clamp it around the Ryhorn in the promised Bite attack.

Dented off course by the Dragon Rage, Gra wheeled around in a long circle, before coming back to attack the Dratini again. This wasn't good. He was losing momentum fast. Would he even reach Zen, so tantalisingly close and yet so far away? It would be touch-and-go. At least he'd hit the trainer's Aerodactyl as he'd gone by, so some good had come from the attack. Tucking himself even tighter as he rolled, the Graveler tried to concentrate as the ground blurred past him.
Meanwhile Rio, still rather dusty and having a hard time seeing anything, was completely unaware of the shift in his opponent. He squinted hard as teeth wrapped around his body. That did hurt, kinda, but if that there Dratini was a-trying to get close again, it knew what was coming. Shifting his head around, Rio's horn began to glow as he jabbed it a few times at what he was sure would be clinging on to his back.

Sulteron was pleased she had told her Pokémon to switch opponents. It seemed that, although they had been too preoccupied by switching opponents to be able to dodge the attacks, they had managed to get Gra to loose a little momentum and Rio... well, Rio seemed to not have realized that Zen was no longer on his back. Prisul was simply hovering, amused while he watched the Ryhorn jab at thin air. Zen was staring hard at Gra, judging how strong, accurate and stuff his attack would be when or if it hit. Perhaps she could use Gra's momentum to her advantage, however? She didn't think Gra had the ability to stop recoil. Hm. "Zen, use Twister from behind Gra; try and get him into the air! Prisul, surprise Rio with an Ice Fang from the front!" she called.
Zen smiled to herself. This would be a huge risk, yes, but it could be worth it as if she pulled it off, she could deal Gra serious damage. If it went wrong, however, she could feel pain. A lot of pain. Well, she should at least try. Wincing as Gra ran over the end of her tail on her way to the area behind him, she conjured up a whirling wind, picking up a few twigs and stones and the like. She moved the Twister towards Gra, hoping to use a well-shaped rock and his momentum to roll him into the air with the attack as quickly as possible, then stop the attack. If all went according to plan, Gra would be flung high by the Twister, a ramp like rock and his own momentum, and then gravity would do it's job.
Prisul watched for a few hilarious moments longer as the Pokémon jabbed madly at where the Dragon snake had once been, then felt his teeth grow cold and icey. He flapped his wings, little fingers partway down clenching into fists of battle. He moved closer, ready to attack the spot behind Rio's ears. If you've ever stroked a rhino, you'd know that was the part where the skin it softest and weakest.

Gra's visibility was limited as he rolled forwards. What was this? A twister attack?... what did the Dratini think that would accomplish? It wasn't the strongest of attacks, and it probably wouldn't damage his momentum much as he came back up to speed. It was really quite odd, almost like the Dratini had some sort of plan aaaarghlargle
He flew up into the air. The trajectory wasn't perfect, but it went just about straight up. The golem flew to ten, maybe twelve feet in the air, before coming straight back down again. There was a loud and rather nasty-sounding crunch, and a few splinters of rock were flung up.
Rio was not at all expecting the sudden and very nasty attack to his neck - specifically, the bit where the armour plating on his head met that on his back, causing a weak spot. Giving a long howl as Prisul's teeth sunk into his skin, he thrashed his head about wildly. < Gaah! No! Cold! Cold! Colddddd! >
As the attack subsided and the Aerodactyl flew off to plan its next attack, Rio dropped to the ground, giving a low moan. He couldn't feel his neck, and his legs had gone numb. Twitching his tail agitatedly, he narrowed his eyes at his opponent. Had to... keep... going... couldn't let... friend... down...
Getting awkwardly to his feet, Gra rubbed his arm. The lower one on the left side had been badly fractured. Cracks ran along the surface of the rock. It wasn't an especially serious injury for a rock-type, and a rest and a good meal would probably sort it out, but it wasn't very nice. Looking up, Gra noticed his friend's peril. The Rhyhorn wasn't moving more than a twitchy jerk every few seconds. < Right. You know what? We surrender. >
Holding his arms up - well, the working ones, anyway - Gra went over to his friend, shattering the ice formed on his neck with a single blow. < You would have won in the end anyway. There's no point fighting until we pass out. >
Rio gave another soft moan, and Gra helped him to his feet.

Sulteron grinned. They surrendered? That meant she'd won! "Prisul, Zen, you can stop now!" she called to the Pokémon, racing out to them. Prisul stood a little in front of her to one side, arrow-tipped tail brushing the rocky ground as he smiled through his large jaw. Zen slithered up to loop herself around her trainer's neck, where she took the oppertunity to take a rest. Fairo, who wasn't tired at all since he hadn't been battling, gazed at Gra and Rio, smiling. They were strong Pokémon. He wondered if Sulteron would want to catch them. Sulteron then offered her tired Pokémon their Pokéballs, but both the Aerodactyl and Dratini refused.
Sulteron then studied Gra and Rio carefully. They were both tough Pokémon, but... she already had a Rock type. And they seemed to be good friends, and having three Rock types wasn't always the best of ideas. Well, they seemed very happy in their home, and they would hardly be bothered by Mismagius again! The Espeon 'morph smiled. No, she wouldn't ask that of the twosome. She inclined her head in respect to them. "Thank you for the battle. Oh, and here, take this. It'll heal you." she said, using a Potion between the Rock types to give them back their energy after the fight. She waved as she made her way along the tunnel, then rounded a corner and was gone.
After several minutes, Prisul felt strong enough to glide ahead of them. The Aerodactyl stopped, however, when he came to a fork in the path. Sulteron peered down both of them, then picked one because she could see a faint light at the end of it. After about half an hour of walking, the tiny pinprick of light became the exit of Gem Cave. She grinned, pleased to be out of the gloomy cave, not that Smiteful Forest was any less gloomy. Well, at least it was fresh air. She smiled, before Sulteron and her Pokémon moved into their fifth route.
