Appearance
Dylan Metzger is a tall, handsome young man. Standing at an even five ten he isn't really abnormally tall, but his presence makes up for it. He has broad, rounded shoulders, weatherd by years of outdoor work and having a guitar strap constantly slung about him. Because of his work, he is a landscaper, and his aspiring carreer, he want's to be a professional muscian, he works out, giving him an evened muscled tone. He has long, shoulder length, light brown hair, wavy to say the least and parted in the middle. His face is soft, not in it's features, just his expression. He has a blunt nose and a rounded chin. High cheekbones and deep-set eyes just serve to frame his striking hazel eyes. He wears perfectly round, dark John Lennon sunglasses most of the time though, hiding his astonishing eyes. He has very strong, lithe hands and wears a simple, plain silver wedding band on his left hand. He wears a hooded jacket underneath a denim jacket and a hand made green scarf his wife made for him before she died.
Personality
Dylan is one of those people who just light up the room. It seems that wherever he goes things just start to look better. He is, at the current moment, a little on the depressed side. He's finding it hard to find his lot in life again. Years of being onstage in front of people have made him a very confident man, sure of himself and his actions. He has a magnetic and charismatic personality, the kind of person that has a lot of younger crushes. Caring, loyal and full of life, he enjoys the feeling of being tired from a hard days work. Very tenacious and outgoing.
After his wife's death Dylan found himself a little shy in new social situations. He wasn't as outwardly confident the way he was before and his friends could tell. He could hardly talk to girls anymore without getting a little nervous. The polar opposite of what he used to be. His confidence gained a boost however, after his original journey in Sinjoenn, during which he met some new friends and journeyed with Esteban, his eevee. Dylan is now the paramount of confidence again, all smiles and on top of the world.
History
Dylan was born in New Viridian City twenty-seven years ago to Marge and Robert Metzger, a stay at home mom and a Pokémon trainer. His father was a member at the local gym after he retired from adventuring, and during his young life Dylan was always pushed to be a trainer.
When he was old enough to have his own Pokémon his father gave him a slakoth, a beginner Pokémon to help introduce him to training. That was when he was eight. He looked like he was well on his way to becoming a Pokémon trainer.
A few months after he received the slakoth the two were heading home from training, sloth Pokémon hanging on his left shoulder, the pair saw a brand new, shiny black guitar sitting in a window of a music shop, his own face staring back at him from the guitar's glossy depths. Two weeks later he was learning how to play that guitar. By the time he was fourteen he was spending more time playing that guitar than training, much to his father's dismay. During school he was pretty much under the radar, well liked by the people he knew, but unknown to the other cliques. When he was fifteen he joined a band, becoming somewhat of an underground celebrity, playing local concerts, doing some originals but mostly covers.
In his junior year he met Cassie at a rock concert he was performing at. He was entranced with her, she just caught him by surprise and left before he worked up the nerve to ask her out. He caught up with her a few weeks later at school (they didn't have any classes together) and asked her out. They dated almost exclusivley through the rest of school. After highschool things got a little more serious, they loved each other, but Cassie knew to put education first. She went to college for Pokemon Breeding and Care, while Dylan went directly to work for a family friend's landscaping firm, playing the clubs on the weekends. Sam, his slakoth, didn't really mind that Dylan didn't have to much time to spend with his, Battling wasn't his thing anyway. Cassie and Dylan didn't see much of each other while she was at school, but when she started working things picked up again. They dated for four more years before he asked her to marry him.
They were twenty-five and it was a simple ceremony. On their honeymoon in Orrenport they went to a carnival just outside the local Safari Zone. There Dylan won a pokemon egg from a skill booth and gave it to Cassie. Weeks later, instead of hatching into the usual fair prize pokemon like magikarp or a an oddish, a baby Eevee graced their small living room. Cassie raised the small fox ,calling him Esteban.
Dylan was enjoying some small musical success, releasing an album with his band, The Wanderers. Meanwhile Cassie continued to work at a local pokemon Daycare and Breeding Center, where everyone was so excited to have such a rare pokemon like Eevee in the Center. The were blissfully happy.
They had been married for a year when Cassie was killed in a car accident. A truck swerved across the median, striking her car on the driver's side on her way home from work in broad daylight. Depressed, forlorn and heartbroken, Dylan turned to his music. For almost a year he did nothing, losing his job and drive to do anything. He started to have some semblance of a normal life again, and, looking at Sam, he saw that it was long overdue to follow in his fathers footsteps. Start over, try to rebuild his life. He called his father to ask how he would get started on his Pokémon journey and left the next day, guitar on his shoulder, leaving Sam at his father's gym.
Dylan began his Sinjoenn journey with Esteban, Cassie's Eevee right behind him. He managed to catch a wild magikarp, which, as amazing as it sounds, evolved into a Gyarados the same afternoon in the Red River. Now Riding the giant creature down the river to the nearest town, he stopped and investigate a strange campsite across the water. Getting up to it he saw that there were numerous caged pokemon in a prefabricated shelter, and bizzarre equipment for catching and expirementing on pokemon.
The Team Vex Grunts that ran the site returned and challenged Dylan to a battle. When they tried to overwhelm him with sheer numbers he summoned his new pokemon to send them flying with Dragon Rage. Dylan freed all the pokemon and trashed the equipment, attempting to keep something like this from happening again.
A few weeks later Dylan ran into Team Vex again, they were seeking retribution for what happened at the river and had searched him out. With the help of some friends they were defeated again. Dylan now had a personal vendetta against the Team, and they wanted his blood. Vex activity died down in the region for a while, and things could continue as normal.
Tiring of always being on the move, Dylan moved back to Khota and took up with his band, the Wanderers, again. After a tour and another two albums getting released Dylan got the urge to journey again. He left all of his pokemon, except Esteban, whom Dylan was always with, with his father, whose collection was quite impressive now thanks to his son. Including a Gyarados, Cloyster and various other exotic Pokemon.
He once again arrived in Sinjoenn, fresh and ready to start his Journey anew.
Anything Else? Dylan is Bringing his Eevee, Esteban, from the old site over.
