A grin split Arley's face, with a look of genuine relief in his eyes. "Good. That's great." Rising in sync with the Flareon, his ears twitched as he listened to Dave.
"Yeah, you're right." Gently lifting the Pikachu into his arms, he pouted to himself. "Aww, he looks in a bad way. Guess we'll just have to get a move on."
Taking a Pokéball while the other arm was busy holding the Pikachu, he released his Pokémon. < Hey, lazybutt. Rise and shining. >
The Absol looked at him resentfully, shaking his head. < What do you want now? Can I not get any free time? Gosh. >
< Look, it's nothing particularly taxing. > Arley ran a hand through his ginger-brown hair. < All I want you to do is keep everyone in check and march 'em out through the door to be freed. Once they're in the wild, most everything should come naturally, 'cept for the ones that are, like, failed mutants or something, and I guess Dave'll know what to do with those. You need to walk along there and look, I dunno, intimidating? You know? > He put his hand up by his face, unsheathing his claws and swiping a little way forwards in a 'rawr' gesture. < Grr. Can you do that? >
In answer, Absol eyed him for about half a second, then without warning snapped open his jaws and let out a resounding roar that ripped from the base of his chest. Arley had to cover his ears. When it was over, Absol put on the sort of dopey smile he'd been using earlier. < That good enough? >
< Yeah, uh, fine. Whatever. Great. > Slightly ruffled, Arley pointed to one side of the door. < I'd like you to take this side. Ronan, could you take the other flank? >
< Righto. > Yawning again, Absol stalked off, the Pokémon around him looking up (or, in one or two cases, down) in awe and fright, though mostly in fright. Arley went in the rear to chivvy on any that strayed away from the 'flock', and together they helped herd the Pokémon out in a steady stream.
(( Aww, Ablol. Lol. ))
