Glancing behind her as she heard the door open softly, Sulteron smiled in relief as she saw Lucario was well enough to actually walk from the Pokemon Center to here. She was amazed by how quickly the Pokemon had healed; but then again, it was at a high level. Maybe she should get a Riolu some day and evolve it. Back to the battle. She hadn't missed much, but Totodile's current tactic was a clever one. Sulteron was at a bit of a disadvantage here, having used up any tactics she'd thought of on her way here, while Tena had had a while to prepare. As in years. Either way, Sulteron was quick thinking. She could do this, and she would. "Denkou, melt the ice with Fire Punch!" she cried. Another clever thing of Tena; ice was melted by fire, which was weak against water.
Denkou roared, flames licking their not-so-gentle way up his arm from his shoulder. They did not harm him, and he reckoned they would only sting Totodile... that was, if he managed to get through the attack. He pushed his clenched hand forwards, the blaze coating it melting the worst of the shards, but his body further away, for example his other arm, where being pelted. He gritted his teeth; it was really hurting. He made his way slowly towards Totdile, fist thrust forward of his face to block the ice from hitting it. He made his way forward, but would he get there in time to strike a blow?

Tena watched with interest as a Lucario entered the Gym. Odd... it diidn't look like it even had a trainer... a wild Lucario, in here? That was odd. Well, she would worry about that later... right now, she had a task at hand. This battle was, actually, getting a little more interesting. Melting the ice with Fire Punch was clever, but it hadn't been enough to get all of the ice shards. Well, the Electivire simply wouldn't have the pleasure of an easy win. Smart, but water could easily take on a Fire Punch; another idea had come to mind.
The Totodile ceased his Ice-Water-Gun and backed up, waiting for the Electivire to make his way to him, and waiting for his next order. "Alright, Totodile. Let's try a new combination! Aim your Water Gun at the Fire Punch, and retaliate with your own Ice Punch!" Tena said. The Totodile nodded, but doubted it would work. He jumped up to meet the Fire Punch, while at the same time attempting to extinguish the flames, and bringing his own arm around that was covered in ice.

Sulteron thought for a moment. Using Thundershock had been very successfull before, and that had been from a distance. She knew there was a risk of Denkou being hurt, but it was worth it; Denkou would endure an attack of the same type as him. Most Pokemon did. The Ice Punch might hurt him, but if he could add a bonus attack, then that would be brilliant. "Denkou, when Totodile makes imact, Thundershock!" she called.
Denkou gave a slight smile through his pain. The Water Gun was a smart move; it was weakening his Fire Punch as well as hurting him. He growled as the Ice Punch then collided with his own fist, tails snaking over his head and latching onto Totodile, crackling with electricity. It gave him stings each time he attacked, but he was sure Totodile would face more damage. Their fists were locked, Denkou putting his full force on it but still not having it move an inch.

When the attack hit the Totodile, it was all he could do to keep from screaming at the pain. As soon as it was over, he fell into the water, completely defeated. "Totodile is unable to battle! The challenger wins!" the man inbetween said, holding the flag to Sulteron's favor. "You did good, bud, real good," Tena said, taking out her Totodile's Pokeball and returning him. She dove into the water and swam over to Sulteron's side; much faster than the long walk around the narrow edge of the Gym, anyway. She hopped out of the water, and met the man with the flags. He was holding a little box that looked like it would hold jewelry. She took it from him and walked over to Sulteron. "Congratulations on your win. You know, I didn't even catch your name," Tena said, opening the box. "I now present to you the Aurora Badge," she said, holding the box out to Sulteron. She glanced over Sulteron's shoulder at the Lucario, apparently waiting. Well, perhaps the Lucario was hers... or something of the sort. She shrugged it off and focused back on the trainer, giving her a bright smile.
Woohoo! You've received your first badge! Congratulations on a spectacular win!

Sulteron smiled broadly as the badge was pressed into her hand, gazing at it in disbeleif for a moment before turning to look at Tena. She hadn't realised she hadn't spoke her name yet, so she introduced herself as she returned Denkou, who was currently making his tails crackle with electricity. "Oops, I'm terrible at telling people my name. It's Sulteron. Thank you so much, I can see why you're a gym leader. I enjoyed that battle, and I think my Pokemon did, too." she smiled, then walked towards Lucario.
"Glad to see you're feeling better. Pretty impressive that you can survive... that. You're amazing." she smiled, looking around for anyone or anything which might have helped him walk all this way; a visible look of surprise crossed her face when she saw none. "Shall we go back to Pokemon Center so you can go back with Charizard, Tyrantar and the others?" she asked. She felt Lucario might be tired from walking here, and she was in no hurry; she would miss the Pokemon.

"It was a good battle. May you have great success in your future," Tena said, watching walk back to the Lucario. It was fascinating to her, that a wild Pokemon, or so she thought the Lucario was wild, would be following her around. She shook her head and turned around, diving into the water again to swim to the other side, and then disappear behind a door marked 'DO NOT ENTER'.
"I was brought up to survive the harshest of pain. That was no exception,"
the Lucario said with a smile. Well, that was a good compliment... he was amazing? Wow. He didn't get that too often from a human. He was proud he had made it over by himself, though there was absolutely no way he was going to go back to that PokeCenter. "No need to. They'll be roaming free, now, doing their own thing, though I'm sure they'll want to stay in touch. I just came in to say my good-bye. And let you know that you'll find me in the Marshlands when you feel you've become strong enough to challenge me," he said. "Besides, they are all waiting outside for me. I'm kind of like their leader, though I need to get through to them that they are free and can do anything they wish," he said with a chuckle, flinching slightly at the pain in his ribs, but not doing much else and he headed for the door, and disappeared out of it. Sulteron nodded. "OK, Lucario. I promise that, no matter what, some day I'll come back when I'm stronger. Then we'll battle. I expect Fairo will be a Charizard then, and that should prove interesting." she said, waving as he left. She should leave too; Fiela, having realised Lucario wasn't going back to the PokeCenter, had glided over here (attracting looks, as well) to tell Sulteron. She had heard the whole thing, and was pleased. Lucario would be a challenging and most likely fun battle. She estimated he was around level 70 or 80, so there would be a lot of training to go through before they fought. After they defeated the Pokemon Champion, maybe.
Sulteron saw the mutated Espeon and walked over to her side, smiling sadly at Lucario's retreating back. Fairo was holding the same expression. ~I'm really gonna miss him. But hey, I look forward to his battle.~ he flexed his muscles. Sulteron nodded distantly, then headed over to the PokeCenter to heal Denkou and Minari after that battle. Once that was done, she turned and left Avura Town, and so Lucario and his team mates. But not forever. No, some day, when she was strong enough, she would return.
To be continued...
