(All my thread titles will be Winona's reactions to the areas. |D)
Winona stood calmly before the little white house, pondering what kind of Pokemon egg she hoped to get from the Eggery. Of course it had to be the egg of a Flying type Pokemon, but what Flying type Pokemon? Well, sitting out here isn't going to help me decide. She thought, sighing and entering the house. Inside was a large variety of incubators, pillows, and, of course, eggs. "Wow..." Winona breathed, staring in awe at all the little eggs. She wondered which one contained the Pokemon she would walk out of here with. She looked around, not really seeing anyone she was supposed to talk to, like a manager or something. No one's here...? Weird... She thought, wondering what was going on.
(AHAHA SHORT. -brick'd-)

A face grinned at Winona as she entered. A relaxed looking Shinx sat in her arm, fur being gently stroked by the other hand. "Hi, my name is Professor Bird." she said in a strong British accent. "Welcome to the Eggery. You can choose the type of Pokemon, of course, but it's impossible to tell what Pokemon's in the eggs until they hatch." she explained. Shinx muttered something, and her eyes widened. "I thought you looked familiar! You're Winona, aren't you? The gym leader?! Wow! Come on in!" she aved the woman in.
Plenty of incubators stood from the floor to the ceiling. Each towering block was split into many sections, each block labelled with a type. Eggs of all colours occupied them; some were rocking madly, others small and still. "Well, what type would you like?" Bird said. The Flying types were directly behind Winona; each egg had a smooth surface, coloured sky blue or cloud grey, but each looked very much like a sky.

Oh, there is someone here. Winona thought. "Impossible to tel- uh. Y-Yes, I'm Winona, and I'm the Fortree City Gym Leader... And supervisor for all other Hoenn Leaders." Winona said nervously. She glanced back at the eggs behind her, seeing several very familiar colors. She had seen many of these colors above her when she flew with Altaria. Are those Flying type eggs...? She thought, then snapped back to attention when Professor Bird spoke to her. "Ah, a Flying type, please. New addition for my team back in Fortree City." She said, smiling. She knelt down by all the sky-colored eggs, stroking one's smooth grey surface. I wonder what little winged creature's waiting to break out of this one...

Bird looked a little anxious. "Ah, not that one. It's not going to hatch for-" she began, but a loud crack interrupted her.
The shell of the egg had the smallest of faults, and soon the grey surface split down the center. It was too dark inside to see what the bird's form was, but as Winona prised the shell away, it was possible to see...
~Pipipi?~ a murmering trill came from the tiny creature uncurling from the remains of the egg in Winona's palms. It was now a little bigger as it streched it's wings out for the first time. ~Tailow? Pipipi!~ the baby Tailow sang, before walking unsteadily to Winona's chest and rubbing it's little face against it's new 'mother'. Bird grinned, then looked a little closer. "Ah, I can't see from here... do you know the gender? We have to make a record, see." she asked.

Winona gasped when the egg started to crack, and when the baby Taillow crawled out, she couldn't help grinning. So cute... But I already have two Swellows back home... She thought.
(Winona's team differs between the Pokemon anime and the Pokemon manga. In the anime, she has a Shiny Swellow, in the manga, she has a normal one. I conclude that she has two Swellows.)
Ack, it's nuzzling me! Don't tell me it thinks I'm its mother! Winona turned away from the newborn when Professor Bird spoke to her. "Ah, I think it's male... I'm not that sure, though. Um, here?" She said, handing the small bird to the professor.
(You have no idea how much I wanted to make a horrible pun there.)
"I think I'll end up taking a different one. I already have two Swellows back in Fortree City, you see, and they may not appreciate my getting a third one for little reason. They already fight enough with each other..." She explained, looking over the other Flying eggs. A particular one caught her eye. It was dark blue, with shining white specks all over it. It was a night sky egg.
(THIS IS OKAY RIGHT I DON'T WANT TO GO AGAINST THE RULES BY SPAWNING A RANDOM AND UNUSUAL EGG WITHOUT PERMISSION.)
Whoa... Night sky... Never seen anything like that... Hm, now I'm curious... Winona thought, reaching over and picking up the strange egg. Maybe this one will hatch as soon as I touch it, too.

((OK, that's godmodding. Leaving out the 'Dark/Flying' bit would be fine, because there's only one Dark/Flying type; Murkrow. You might still get it, though, so long as the first dark coloured Flying type on my random generator is a Murkrow.))

(Only one, seriously? Wow. That's... incredibly boring. Okay, sorry, I'll edit that.)

Bird grimaced. "We don't normally let people give their hatched Pokemon back, but I'll allow it in your case. I'll give it to Hide at the lab..." she murmered, scribbling down the details and cradling Tailow herself. It gave a confused coo and moved closer to her, eyes drooping. Then she examined the egg Winona was holding.
"What an odd egg. A black Flying type... Starly or Murkrow, I'd say. I could be wrong, of course. It's entirely random, this hatching thing. I've already allowed you to give back one egg, so you'll have to keep this one, I'm afraid." she said. It hadn't cracked yet, but looked like it might soon.
ooc// I'll let you choose from Starly or Murkrow here, like she suggested.
