In the game, some moves have odd effects. Metronome, for example, randomly generates a move for the pokémon to use. In this thread are the rules concerning moves such as this.
Metronome
For this, mods will need a random-number generator, such as the one found here.

First, the player will announce the attack of Metronome. Mods will then generate a random number between 0 and the user's current level. However, the mod may choose to use a different range of numbers (e.g. 50 - 90 instead of 0 - 90, or, indeed, 0 - 70 instead of 0 - 100) as long as the highest number does not exceed the user's level, and the lowest number is not below zero. I expect mods to use their judgement on this front. If a 0 is generated, this is one of the 'default' moves. Mods may then pick from the selection below:
- Hyper Beam
- Splash
- Flamethrower
- Wing Attack
- Tail Whip
- Quick Attack
