Emma smiled, Growlithe's tail wagging furiously from side to side at her feet. "Thank you, trainer. If my Pokemon ever become disobedient again, I shall not abandon them; I shall show them love!" she smiled. Growlithe did too.
Andrew still looked a little annoyed. Vulpix was in his arms, his hand scratching her head as he spoke. "But we still have our egg. We can't take care of it; we don't know how. You can understand Pokemon better than us, what if you took care of it?" He said, pressing an egg into Dexter's hand.
The egg was pale, almost white but tinted with shards of blue. A lot like the sky of present; in fact, as the clouds drifted away, revealing the sun, the egg turned a rich orange colour. How strange! An egg that changes colour depending on the weather! It was extremely light, too. I wonder what it'll hatch into?

"I'm glad that you made a connection with your Pokemon. When a Pokemon is happy, it performs much better than if it has been abused. I'm glad you've changed your ways," Dexter said with a smile. +Good, good, good. Don't see how this could've turned out any better!+
Saren said happily, gliding in circles around Dexter making sounds of happiness as he did so. Dexter chuckled at the sight of Saren; some things never changed. Dexter brought his gaze toward Andrew; he didn't look as if he'd changed; was he going to still be like he had been, or was something else bothering him? He was quite surprised with the question, and when the egg was handed to him. "Well, uh, uh... sure," he said, gazing down at the egg. He had never seen a Pokemon egg in real life before. Now... it just felt warm, and had a happy feel to it. He smiled as he stroked the smooth surface. He raised his eyebrows in amazement as the egg changed color as the clouds moved out and revealed the sun; that was really odd. That made him wonder what kind of Pokemon egg it was. It made him really glad he had saved this egg. He glanced behind him, remembering the Croagunk he had first met. Where had he gone off too, anyway? Ah, well... perhaps he had seen this, and was content with the results. He shrugged, and brought his gaze back to the baffling mystery egg. "Thank you," he finally said.

Emma laughed. "No, thank you! We're not ready to deal with hatching eggs yet; you're giving it a good home. And you tought us to be better people. I can't put that into words." she nodded. Andrew looked to her. "We should be going. If we want to beat Tena, we need to train." he said, gesturing at the expanse before them. They stepped forward, heading towards a rustling bush. Soon they were gone.
A sigh came from behing Dexter. It was Croagunk. He must have been hiding all this time. ~Thank ye. Crow'll have a good 'ome, now. Now, I believe there's a lil' thing we oughta do before of if we part.~ it smiled slyly, even more maddness gone. This 'little thing'... what could it be? Croagunk stepped backward, bouncing a little on it's feet. A pose of battle? Ah... it seemed Croagunk wanted Dexter to battle it. ~If you defeat me, you can catch me.~ it's words comfirmed this.

"Well, good luck against Tena. She is a Water-type trainer, and you have fire-types. Try to expand what you have as well. If you have just one type you'll be at a disadvantage, but if you have a lot, you'll have the upper hand in most battles," Dexter said. He watched them go, and was happy that it had ended so well. He looked at the egg in his hands, still wondering what it could be.
Dexter turned to the Croagunk, surprised that he was still here. One more little thing? Ah... now he remembered. A battle; of course! "I'd love to battle you, Croagunk," he said, wondering which Pokemon he would use for this battle.

Croagunk shuffled slightly, then locked eyes with Dexter. It smiled, realising the boy was having trouble figuring out which Pokemon he should use, so Croagunk descided that the battle would be fairer if both the Pokemon fighting were neither resistant nor weak to the attacks of the other. He voiced this out loud, then followed it with, ~I'm a Poison/Fightin' type, I am. Weak against Fire, Flying, Ground and Psychic. Strong against Bug, Dark, Fighting, Grass, Poison an' Rock, an' immune teh Water. Bring it!~ with these stats, this was a valuable Pokemon, although tricky in battle.

Dexter thought about that- no matter what Pokemon he used, there would be a weakness/disadvantage or a big advantage. Well... he had to make up his mind soon. Sighing, he decided on Umbra. Though she was weak to Fighting-type moves, at least she might stand a chance. After all, she had defeated that Staryu with a high defense. Perhaps she could defeat a strong Croagunk? "Alright, Umbra. Let's see what you got," he said to his Eevee. +Right!+
Umbra said, hopping forward to take her battle position. Umbra locked eyes with the Croagunk as the Croagunk had locked eyes with Dexter. This battle would likely be intense, if she didn't miss her guess.

Hm? This Eevee was a Normal type, so Croagunk's Astonish would be of no use on her! Oh, well. That was just a single attack, and besides, this was an even match for once. Yay. Croagunk scooped up some of the mud from the ground, squelching it into both paws. He was glad for it, because simply making mud from earth was harder. His paws both nicely covered in rich marshland marsh, he rushed forward and tried to give Umbra a slap. A Mud-Slap, that is.

"Alright, Umbra. Retaliate with a Sand-Attack!" Dexter said. A Sand-Attack? Well, that would be easy to do, Umbra thought sarcastically hopping backwards to the driest spot she could find and began hurling as much dry substance as she could at the Croagunk in an attempt to make him unable to see where he would be swinging his Mud-Slap at. +You can do it, Umbra! I have faith in you!+
Saren called eagerly from the sidelines. "Since when do you have faith? You're a ghost," Dexter said with a chuckle. +Hey, it's an expression, isn't it? Can we ghosts use expressions dealing with religion, or is that not allowed?+ Saren asked. "Saren, I was kidding. Take a chill pill, chillax," Dexter said. Saren giggled in a weird way at that and then turned his attention back to Umbra and the Croagunk.

Croagunk slapped at thin air, the shock of finding it's body weight flung at nothingness sending him sprawlinging on the ground. At least that knocked some of the sand off. Rubbing his eyes, the Fighting-type frog stood up, flickered- and disappeared altogether. What. On. Earth?
Croagunk reappeared behind Umbra, and would strike before anyone notice where he'd gone. Oh, the wonderful attack that was Faint Attack.

Umbra looked arouund uncertainly as the Croagunk disappeared, and was surprised when she felt a force ram into her from behind. Her small body was sent skidding forward in the muck, uck, yuck... and whatever else you might call it. "It's alright, Umbra. Retaliate with a Tackle!" Dexter said encouragingly. +Go Umbra!+
Saren cheered excitedly, waving what would be his arms wildly as he cheered her on. 'This is so disgusting! Getting my paws dirty, I didn't mind too much. But... my entire coat of fur? This will take forever to get out!' Umbra thought angrily, getting up from the mud and shaking herself, sending mud flying everywhere. As soon as that was over, she charged forward at the Croagunk with a Tackle.

Croagunk giggled at Umbra's reaction to the mud. Hm, he might just have discovered the cute puffball's weakness. Like every female, she hated getting dirty. Well, not like every female; some of the Pokemon of the Marshlands were females, but most outsider females, then. Whatever. He needed to stop thinking about all this and start acting. As the Tackle approached, Croagunk planned to use Faint Attack again to dodge. He flexed his muscles, then prepared himself...
...Wham. Too late. Umbra's 'puffball' body collided with Croagunk, sending the mud frog sprawling in his beloved mud. His eyes narrowed at Umbra, glaring. Then he disappeared. It seemed as though he was aiming for that Faint Attack anyway.

'Oh, no he didn't!' Umbra thought angrily as she felt herself being plowed over into the mud again. Well, might as well get used to it... it would happen a few more times at the very least. "Umbra, hit him again with a Sand-Attack, then charge with a Tackle right away!" Dexter called. +Get that Croagunk! You can do it! He don't stand a chance against you!+
Saren called happily, his single eye moving to his left socket, leaving his right one looking completely black- an odd trait of Duskull. +Get a hit on 'im!+ Saren called excitedly. Umbra nodded, and rose to her feet again, shooting another Sand-Attack at the Croagunk and then rushing forward with a Tackle attack.

Croagunk made a disgruntled oof noise as Umbra's Sand Attack had it temporarily blinded. It wiped at it's eyes frantically, trying to clear it's vision before-
Impact was made. Right, before that. Well, too late. Croagunk had a feeling he was flying through the air, then felt the cool squidgeyness and smelt the fresh newness of earth and mud. Thankfully, the wind had blown the worst of the Sand Attack away, so he could see- just. The marshy Pokemon charged forward, muddy paw ready for a Mud-Slap. It wasn't very accurate, of course, but it was still an attack and worth a try.
