OK, me and Iron had agreed that shiny Pokemon are far too common around here. From now on, NO starter Pokemon shall be shiny.
The only way to get a shiny is to have lots of money and the required gym badges at the store, or to get them in the routes you have to have reached 50 posts, then 100, then 150, and so on up the 50 times tables. On very special occations, such as Christmas or Sinjoenn's next anniversary, an Administrayor may hold a giveaway which includes shinies.
Now, on to legendaries. With the plot events, you will be more likely to see one, although it will probably be one of the murderers created by Team Vex in one of their experiments. Mutated Legendaries, or Megendaries (Melebi, Muicune, etc) may NOT be caught. Normal legendaries can, but only me or Iron can do this and even then, only if you do something amazing such as saving it's life or something. It must have complete trust in you. Once caught, a legendary will rarely obey you in battle, and will not be as super-strong as it was before, that's just not fair. It will still be strong, though. Please note that Shiny legendaries do not exist.
